It seems politics make people talk trash and too much. I used to like this guy but his statements these days make me wonder if this was how he was or he just changed. God forbid!!!

Dear Prince, kindly analyse the “trash” in his statements. This is a man living his private life and minding his private business(es)- managing them well too i must add- who decided to run for public office and who has tried to bring something new to the polity and all people end up doing is castigate him.

I think he is only trying a fresh angle by his attempt to engage us publicly. I am sure he is not pushing an agenda to become president tomorrow, seeing that his being from Bayelsa, same as GEJ, has ruled that out by present day Nigerian political structure.

We should cut this man some good slack and encourage him with the kind of engagement he is trying to hold with us. For one, he appears to be pushing for transparency and accountability, albeit cautiously, which to me suggests wisdom, not foolishness (please ref his statement that hew will try confidence building and not alienation with his colleagues, over our national issues)

Many people we expected to have done al these in time past failed us. Talk of my ladies media personalities from Lagos and Imo states that i thought would be vocal voices for the masses in the upper and lower chambers where they held sway, but they al ate the wardrobe allowances + numerous others and cleaned mouth.

Please let us allign with people like Murray Bruce and see if we can help them with good ideas on what should be done in forward motion for Naija.

Oya Prince, one good idea of how Ben can go about effectively representing us. Go!

Private life? Cut him some slack? You should not cut him any slack, and in as much as he is commenting on something that relates to his position as a senator, nothing about this is private. TRANSPARENCY, ACCOUNTABILITY! This is what is demanded. Nigerians cut mediocre people slacks too much. This is mediocre. Yes, it is a good gesture but do you think Nigerians do not deserve better than this? Than shoddy senators giving themselves wardrobe allowances, and vague tweets? He does not deserve to be cut anything. And this here is the problem. You need to probe, Probe and keep probing. He knows what he is doing. He is not a kid, even children are assertive and can stand their grounds in some situations (barring the dirty looks from their mothers) You say you are for the people? Prove it. Call those senators out. I do not agree with cutting him any slack at all.. I have avoided commenting on this issue because one way or the other it does not affect me and I detest wasting energy on some topics. But i really hate hypocrites and that is what this yellow pawpaw man is. (I am yellow pawpaw too, so I am allowed to call him that)

Don’t mind this Prince of no name always talking from his anus. Come out boldly and show ur hand. And stop trashing anything and everything that is not by some APC politician.

The man is saying what he will do and what he wants to see and we call him a hypocrite? Will God come down from heaven to change NIGERIA? I don’t care who starts it, so long as it is a good idea we must all support. The Nigerian type of jeun koku politics is foul.

\____________ there you go Mr. Bruce, enjoy the company of your hypocrisy. Would you like some cold emu for that hot air you are blowing? Why can’t he refuse the money? Why cant he be straight forward? Do you condemn it, are you for it? Oh you know your fellow Nigerians do not receive salary but you do not outrightly condemn wardrobe allowance? LOOl. I will not even be this judgemental if he kept quiet and did not try to be so two faced! If its money you want, be like everyone else. Take the money, chop am, clean mouth and then carry your face northwards and just dont send anyborry. Do not be this guy. Do you think it’s right to receive the money in the first place. Simple question, “yes or no” my guy is putting us all on some #krimkumkramkumness with the long tweets. Its all well and good to donate the money, but should you or any of those people be receiving that money in the first place? Tah!

I agree with you. Besides, why are they talking about donating rice and money for Osun state workers like they are beggars? Civil servants who have put in their day’s job do not need to be treated like charity. All they want is what is due to them.

Before now, he has condemned it, besides the National Assembly leadership is working on slashing their budget including the allowances. The other Senators are her colleagues mind you, so he is being diplomatic.

Mr whocares, well said, you go it some very intelligent point.
Bruce could be a hypocrite with this, that’s very possible. But let’s assume he’s not, cos if it’s about the money, I believe he has made enough, and he has gotten to the point where money is not his problem, and wat he wants, is. Power, more influence, affluence and probably to be the Knight in shinning armor to the damsel in distress, Nigeria.
Think of it as strategic move, he his trying to use the media as a tool to be transparent and be a good leader ( yes, dis cld be hypocritic, again, assume it’s not). I don’t trust politicians either.
Now, if he rejects the money, what will happen? That wouldn’t stop others from accepting it, that wouldn’t change constitution, that wouldn’t reduce the price of fuel and most especially, that wouldn’t pay the osun workers or feed the widows. So instead of rejecting the money and achieving nothing, don’t you think what he plans to do ( hopefully he pulls through) is wise?
Evil prevails bcos the few good men do nothing. Now, this act will not stop the excessive wastage of resources, it will not reduce the price of fuel, it may not reduce greed, but it will definitely put money in the hands of Nigerian workers, after all, it is Nigeria’s MONEY.
So, let’s watch and see, if he will pull through.

    I’m sorry to say this, but this Murray Bruce guy is now sounding like a fraud and scam to me-with all the noise he made. Is donating wardrobe allowance to people the issue or out rightly outlawing the fraud called “allowances”? You donate wardrobe allowance, what happens to the other allowances that are yet to come? Namely;
    sitting allowance, newspaper allowance,house allowance,furniture allowance,motor vehicle allowance,domestic staff allowance,hardship allowance,recess allowance,entertainment allowance,constituency allowance,utilities allowance,severance gratuity allowance et al?

@Prince, what is wrong in donation his widows might to unpaid workers, at least its a better gesture than buying a private jet at $50 while people under ur leadership are staving. 7 months without pay is not funny.

I don’t know whether or not he is a hypocrite but I want him to do it. If he does it and it goes public, there becomes absolutely no justification for the rest of them to come and speak Attempted English on twitter unless they use the excuse that they were not successful businessmen before entering political office. They think we are idiots. Let’s see what they’ll say next. On the other hand, knowing these ones they may just band together and decide not to give him his allowance since ‘he said he doesn’t need it while the rest of us have no clothes.’ Heifers.

Many Nigerian social media personae have become unnecessarily cynical. Please let’s be careful in abusing ‘all’ our leaders that me may be able to differentiate. I understand that we have lost confidence in our leaders but we must restrain ourselves. When you abuse people unnecessarily, you are ‘NOT’ building!

Good one!it is not about how long he intends doing it,though he has the capacity if he so desires, its the right STEP FORWARD towards the CHANGE that has been much talked about.Ensuring for Consideration and Accountability to the common man. Also,a message to his fellow politrikcians(Mr Bruce excluded),so that their mindset for coming into political office can begin to get amended, knowing that they are there to serve the COMMON MAN.Just Imagine if about 10 of his colleaques take a cue from this by giving their own “SLOT”(wardrobe allowance),is that not a good CHANGE SYNDROME,and will the nation not be the better for it?

Peoples, If you have followed his previous tweets either via his account or on this same blog site, you would realise he has already refuted the fact that such amounts are allocated for wardrobe allowances but he did say this is the first step towards helping to change that as Rome wasn’t built in a day.

There might be several ways to do this but atleast he’s doing something. How about other senators who haven’t said nada? i.e. they are anxiously waiting to pocket the money neither do they see anything wrong with it.

I wont comment on his agenda or motives as i’m not in his head but this i know: the amount is too much – Murray bruce concurs on this and he has followed that up by giving it away. What’s the alternative? refuse the money. Well guess what? if he does someone somewhere will be pocketing it. He might as well take it, use it for greater good and continue to condemn. Ledt’s give credit if, when and where its due.

He might not be Jesus but atleast he’s doing something.

Y’all should permit me to digress a lil bit.#9B for wardrobe allowance,in this critical period that our economy is plummeting alarmingly,am I the only one seeing this? What are the materials of the clothes and shoes they put on made of/from?How much is a yard of clothe in Wuse 2?I won’t be surprised if they wake up one morning and pass a bill for the buba/babariga wearers to get more money, because theirs will consume more materials…smh!I just hope BMB will not just stop at donating his allowie, but also ensure that this ludicrous allowie is cut down to a less annoying minimum. There is limit to the rubbish Nigerians can take ooo!

Come on peeps……. This is sound reasoning from the poor guy and highly commendable!! He’s pushed the boat out, thrown down the gauntlet!! One would imagine that, if there was any decency left in the house or its members, the ideal thing to do should be for every other MP to follow suit….,,, can’t believe anybody sane can’t see the goodness in his intentions!! His guts should clearly be admired in my opinion, and not castigated.. Frankly becuz, this is unheard of from a politician……. The only virtue I think is worth contesting is his CREDIBILITY. Which only time will tell about.. Keep up the good work brother!!

Well done Mr Bruce, looking forward to when children from the orphanage can watch films free of charge at Silverbird or Ozone cinemas. That will show that you are really denying yourself of something

I’m sure they will die if they don’t watch films. By the way and by the bush acc to Carliforniabawler, what film are we talking about here? The senseless ones they make these days? Abeg park well. Talking about real things that are affecting the nation you are here talking about films for orphanage children, like that’s their no one problem.
