Gunmen Abduct Winners Chapel Pastor in Calabar During Prayer Session
A pastor at a Winners Chapel branch in Calabar was abducted in Saturday evening by unknown gunmen.
The incident occurred at 7:50 p.m. when the pastor, Seyi, was having a prayer session with other pastors in preparation for Sunday services, Vanguard reports.
Sources say the gunmen were 5 in number, and stormed the main auditorium of the church, shooting sporadically in the air before grabbing the pastor, and forcing him into their vehicle before heading to an unknown location.
One of the pastors of the church told newsmen, “He came here in 2014 and has been doing a lot work through the construction of a massive complex for the church auditorium and office accommodation which might have given the kidnappers the impression that he has money to give them as ransom.”
