All those highschool punishments are now gym work outs – burpees, planks, squats, chairless sit etc. Went for a core class at my gym yesterday and the instructor had us frog hop the length of the gym floor!!! Never did i think back then I would one day pay someone to punish me. Chai, I suffered yesterday.

Thats how my senior used chalk and drew a car on the left side of the board and asked me to push it to the other end. mstchewww, witchcraft in disguise! and i was there sweating and pushing the car that i know will never move. you dare not stand there and be looking. you must exert all your energy and the car must not clean in the process of your pushing it. catarrh ooh, sweat oo, tears oh all on top the board.

The other one was group punishment. they lined us up in a single file and we all faced the same direction at first. so number 1 will knock number 2, number 2 will knock number 3 till it got to the last person, number 10. then we will all face the other side so that number 10 can knock number 9 till it gets to number 1 first.

So thats how we thought it was a joke and we were knocking each other small small. the senior said she will teach us how to knock and she gave number 1 the hottest knock on the head. YEPA!! the person burst cry like this ehn, with the anger and pain, she gave number 2 better knock and the ripple effect followed.

Omo, as i tiny reach that time, the knock shake all my body. i started crying so much, i couldnt even knock the person in front of me well and also with the hope that when we turn she will have mercy on me. NA LIE. the knock wen the person for her back give her after we turn make her forget say i pity her. CHEI!!! as they knocked her, she was already crying and she gather vexation give me my own. i saw my ancestors the moment her hand came down on my head.

When the seniors realized that i was just suffering from both ends and not even rendering people “thoughtless” (because with that kain knock, you fit forget your name sef) , they brought me out of the line. na die i bin dey.

wetin dey saay we do? say we make noise during prep and beside our names, the monitor put X15 or X20, meaning we made noise more than everybody. all you writers of names of noise makers, una do oohh.

    September 17, 2015 at 3:09 pm

I hated going round the school to look for a book that did not exist. Senior A will say go to Senior B n ask for “journey of no return”,senior B will then send u to senior Q and the journey never ends. Another one I hated was after light out…..ur dorm prefect will come to your corner….she will call ur name and even shout if necessary, once u answer….u will just hear ur senior saying so u r not sleeping. Go under my bed n catch 3 pregnant mosquitoes…… #Jesus #WhatIDo

    • Ides of March

      September 17, 2015 at 3:42 pm

LOL, these comments are killing me. In my school they will send you to go collect “Omo to yi ogbo” (not sure about the spelling). Had to learn Yoruba by force and then I got hip to the game and just told the Senior “okay, I’m going now” but cut out and went on my way (ain’t nobody gat time to be getting sent all over the darn place!) but this only worked with seniors not in my house or else you’d be accosted by an angry mob of seniors as you sleep in your bed. Gosh I hated secondary school, kai!

I remember when I just resumed js1, this evil senior decided to teach me a lesson for no just cause. She sent me to her mate to tell her ‘senior A said I should tell you you’re mad’…jjc me, I went and jabo, .fellow BNers, if you see slap, Jesus! The senior that slapped me asked me to go and tell another senior that ‘senior x said I should tell you that God will punish you’……to cut the long story short, I went to bed with swollen cheeks and red eyes……….this other senior would lose her money, she would say someone stole her money(I pray!, she’s just a liar and thief) she would say all her juniors must look for the money. My brothers and sisters, how you wan take find money wey no lost? That’s how she’ll force everybody to contribute the money oo and when we do, it’ll be triple the amount she claimed she lost. Mehn! We saw things and things saw us!

  18. LADE

    September 17, 2015 at 4:05 pm

there were several punishment , ‘police catch your thief positions’, squat and fly ur hands, crawl with your hands in the air, ‘ damm! it was hell worst was when a senior said she wanted to eat something oily , hot with plenty of pepper, i knew she wanted noodles but it was so unreasonable at 12 midnight so i got a can of sardine , kept it over a burning candle and sprinkled pepper on it… that was the beginning of my punishment that term…

    September 17, 2015 at 10:23 pm

I was the chairwoman of escaping punishments, but the few times I’ve had the misfortune of being punished I’ve crawled on a hot tarred road with my knees bleeding, I’ve rolled around our quad which is disgusting btw, and I’ve cleared feces. But the punishment I absolutely detest is fetching water for our housemistress or seniors, it kills me. I hate someone gaining form my pain.

  29. Babytohcute

    September 17, 2015 at 11:33 pm

I think the worst is kneeling, hands up and sometimes close your eyes. Damn! The thing dey start like joke oh, before you know your hands dey shake, you start to dey bring them down small small or stretching them, then you start to provoke internally (you can’t show it now), and so it goes until you get released. “Kneel down, hands up and close your eyes”

  30. missnk

    September 18, 2015 at 3:56 am

kai! Where do I even start from? Lord I suffered. I knelt down soo much my knees were sooo callused, they become like cushions. I think my worst punishment was by this evil teacher, she made us kneel down, hands up, close your eyes and walk with your knees in a straight line.
She would frequently slap or konk your head if you weren’t in line. By the end, tears will be streaming from your closed eyes. sigh

I attended Government College, I remember our Economics Teacher (Boboski) and Maths Teacher they were both good in the act of flogging students and there are different ways of punishing students and most of the seniors are sometimes devil’s incarnate, As at SS 1 each class have a portion in the school where you must clean, failure to do that there are so many ways to punish eg, we have a big farm land, they can tell you to cut grass, crawl on kneels, frog jump, and what have you but you know the best part, despite going through all these form of punishment cause my voice is very loud, so most times my name is always the first on the list of noise maker but i still enjoy those days.

Senior: take this 20 naira buy sweets, moimoi, suya and a bottle of coke and bring back change. Junior student: but senior you just gave me 20 naira. Senior: disappear and buy those things b4 I count to 3. #student with confused look lurks outside the hostel gate unending till another bold senior comes to her rescue. Boarding school is a different world where students showcase their wickedness and witchcraftry. I’ve had my fair share of it but I was also titled the artful dodger of my set in school I had mad skills #lol. I had this stupid greedy senior who doesn’t let up on my case, she must taste everything my parents bring or anything she sees me with. My folks brought a small cake for me while visiting cos it was my bday, somehow the news got around she kept on harassing me for cake so I played a prank on her, I sieved garri mixed with milo and milk and sugar soaked it and pushed m&ms in it and gave her, the local champion munched away and cldnt tell the difference until another senior told her she saw us making it, she wanted to kill me but I was lucky the s/prefect was my sisters school mother so I got away with little or no punishment.

Ijoko idera (sitting in a relaxed way) you put your buttocks on a wall, your knees in a squatting position, both arms stretched out. Before 5minutes you will see red. How is this idera (relaxation) The other one I hate is to full a basket with water. Not a few students fainted trying to accomplish this impossible task.
