Bomb Blasts Rock Abuja on Friday Evening | At Least 15 Dead & 39 Injured

Victims of bombing in Kuje area of Abuja

Bomb blasts occurred on Friday evening in Nyanya at a bus stop, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), killing two persons and injuring 19.

Ishaya Chonoko, Coordinator of NEMA Abuja operations, who confirmed the figure, said the corpses of the two dead persons and one critically injured person were taken to the Asokoro General Hospital.

He said that the remaining 18 persons were receiving treatment at the Nyanya general hospital.

“We have confirmed that 18 persons, who sustained injuries, are receiving treatment at the Nyanya General hospital. Two persons that were confirmed dead were taken to the Asokoro General hospital,” he said.

Chonoko said that another blast, that earlier took place in Kuje Area council of the FCT near a police station, also recorded 13 dead and 20 injured.

The FCT Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu also confirmed the bomb blasts.

    Just when we thought all this was becoming history! So sad! So many innocent lives :(( It makes no sense though, after ALL this time! Why now? It was really beginning to look like the FG was getting things under control. Well I pray it’s not Aunty D’s people that are either trying to steer attention away from her disgrace or are retaliating in anger… I won’t be surprised. #myopiniono May God protect us from all evil & evil doers and expose their shameful deeds, ameen!
