Presidency Confirms Diezani’s Arrest

Mrs Diezani Alison Madueke - Bella Naija

The Nigerian presidency has confirmed the London arrest of former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.

You will recall that she was arrested over allegations of corruption and money laundering.

Senior Special Assistant to the President, Garba Shehu, on Sunday confirmed the news, telling Premium Times:

“The government is aware of the arrest and all the government investigative agencies are working very closely with the British law enforcement.

Nigerian authorities are saying for the first time that matters are being handled with seriousness and deep commitment. Nobody wants to give the impression that this government is frivolous and unserious.

“For this reason, government is only confirming active collaboration. Beyond this, we are not saying more. In due course, Nigerians will be briefed on updates as appropriate.”

Later the feminist will think they are the only pure breed witnout fault that can change the world. A woman that abuses her office, such a shame to the liberation of the women aspiring to such positions. Most women appointed in zGEJ administration failed woefully except for likes of abike dabiri and perhaps shruggly okonjo iweala.
Women should complain much when they are being marginalised for federal and state positions in the country.

Let them go on with the trial and if she is found innocent, no problem

I find your comment offensive. Are you implying that the men who have been ruling us in this country and even the ones appointed under GEJ are pure breeds with excellent records and so women, because some women didn’t do well, have no right to complain if they’re overlooked for positions? That is hogwash. This is not a feminist issue. No right thinking person will support corrupt officials in Nigeria based on their tribe or gender or party affiliation. Women have as much right to be given Government appointments as men do. Though from your comment it seems you’re one of those men who feel threatened by powerful women.

Unique. Can you listen to yourself?
So all the men ruling Nigeria, who turned our resources into a curse are women?
In your mind, Nigerian women turned this country into what it is today?

Women have come a long way. You can not send us back into the kitchen.
Nigeria needs good rulers. It should not matter if they are women! !!!!!!!!!
