Buhari hosted House of Reps Dinner Last Night | Says Diversion of Arms deal funds is a Betrayal of Trust

Buhari House of Reps Dinner
At a dinner hosted for House of Representative members at the State House last night, expressed dismay at the betrayal of trust by those who stole funds allocated for the arms deal.

“But unfortunately for us as a people, we discovered that the billions of Naira and hundreds of millions of Dollars that were supposed to be expended by the previous government to acquire good equipment and ammunition for the military, there was an abuse of trust at various levels that cost Nigeria a lot of lives and goodwill.

“On this we cannot keep quiet and it is coming out gradually. It is very unfortunate. It is a known fact that Nigeria earned its respect from Burma to Zaire to Liberia to Sierra Leone.

“But it reached a stage where the Nigerian military could not secure 14 local governments out of 774 local governments. As I have always said how has the mighty fallen. But we are doing our best and I hope our best will be good enough.”

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Dogara responded by thanking Buhari. However, he challenged the President to deliver on his promises by saying;

“If we don’t get it right under you, then, those of us in this generation should forget about getting it right.”
“We sincerely believe we should lay the foundation of a lasting legacy for generations to come.”

    When will Buhari stop the blame game?
    What can a two timed president as you say he has achieved in nearly a year of second coming? Things are bad, bad policies right left and center. FCY policies scared investors yet dollar is out of contol! Probe who ever, use the recovered luuut to move Nigeria upwards. Haven’t yoy still blocked all the leakages since May?

      He has not blocked the leakages yet, he is still practising how to do that. Before you know now, one year go reach and he will still be saying “we will”, “i will” “we shall”….7 months o, and we are still talking about how allegedly corrupt the last government was. Since he supposedly has all the proof, can he get them arrested and charged to court so we can move on? Only God knows how much they have stolen from the so-called empty treasury between May 29th and today….
