#EkitiGate: Nigerian Army Retires Gen. Momoh
The Nigerian Army has retired Brigadier General Aliyu Momoh who was indicted by a military Board of Inquiry (BOI) led by General Officer Commanding One Division of the Nigerian Army, Major General Adeniyi Oyebade last year for his alleged involvement in rigging June 2014 gubernatorial elections in Ekiti state.
According to Vanguard, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, Dan Ali revealed plans to end Momoh’s military career in an interview in Washington DC while attending the Nuclear Energy Summit organised by US President, Barack Obama.
Vanguard also reported that Army Acting Director of Public Relations, Col. Sani Usman, confirmed that Momoh has been retired from the Army.
