Fuel Scarcity Update: 4 ships laden with petrol arrive Lagos ports

Bonny-Ships-LNG-CargoLagos, April 29, 2016 (NAN) Four ships laden with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) otherwise known as petrol, have arrived Lagos ports, waiting to discharge.

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) stated this in its publication – Shipping Position – a copy of which was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.

The document indicated that three other ships had arrived the ports waiting to discharge aviation fuel and general cargoes.

NPA noted that 36 other ships containing petroleum products, food items and other goods were being expected at the ports from April 29 to May 19.

The publication stated that seven of the expected ships would arrive with petrol.

It explained that other expected ships contained general cargoes, bulk sugar, buck wheat, bulk fertiliser, crude palm olein, diesel, bulk gypsum, containers and ethanol.

NAN reports that 19 other ships are at the ports discharging wheat, general cargoes, petrol, sugar, bulk salt, bulk gas, soda ash and containers.
