“I see victimization, I see vendetta and I fear” – Veteran Actress Gloria Anozie-Young on Ibinabo Fiberesima

Veteran actress Gloria Anozie-Young is unhappy that Ibinabo Fiberesima is in jail and being “victimized” in the eyes of Nigerians.

She shared her thoughts on her Facebook page recently saying she hasn’t been sleeping well and she has been having nightmares about Ibinabo Fiberesima.

She posted “I haven’t slept well in days…I’ve been having nightmares about Ibinabo Fiberesima being in prison. I can’t seem to wrap my head around it. I’ve read the way some people have lambasted her for having an accident. She’s an entertainer, like me, whose work is to make people happy. She had an accident! I can’t sleep because I see victimisation, I see vendetta and I fear”

I can only ask one Question ……. Gloria Anozie if it was Nobert Young that was killed that day, and Ibinabo acted the way she has would you make this same statement ……..

It is easy to judge others as Vendetta when you are not the one wearing the shoes

Exactly. The way she is feeling, having nightmares and all is the way the victim’s family has felt and much more in the last 10 years or whatever the years.

The problem is, Nigerians are not used to being punished for their actions, intentional or not. If the victim is Adenuga or Babangida’s relative, will she be saying what she’s saying since Nigerians are lenient towards people in power and money. It’s baffling, how they are undermining manslaughter and drunk driving. It’s a serious crime that should be taken serious. There’s consequence for everything you do in a moral and lawful society. They get away with so much through bribing and power. Many are shocked that this lady didn’t get away with manslaughter. And I’m sure at some point, ibinabo thought she will get away due to her connection, fame and maybe how fine she thinks she is. It doesn’t matter how pretty you are, wealthy, nice, entitled, what you do will catch up to you. Is she the scapegoat? Maybe bcos I’m sure some Top Nigerians have committed some heinous crimes and got away with it. But punishing crimes has to start from somewhere, somebody. Nigeria can’t continue to function like a lawless country.

Justice should be served at the right time. Why did the verdict take this long????
If she went to jail then, she would have been out by now.

Are you FREAKING kidding me with this comment? Like, are you normal or are you this callous everyday? Go back and read what happened. You are probably one of those that thinks Abacha and IBB and Bode George and all dem ITTs should go free. Ugh!

Ebony, that’s a ridiculous question. Tell that to Ibinabo, if she had agreed to do her jail term since, she’ll have been out since 2010/2011. But no, she rather tried to pay money, and totally avoided being prosecuted. So direct your questions to Ibinabo. Such an outrageous remark.

Exactly! Honestly this woman isn’t the only one having nightmares. I have been having nightmares for over a decade since an innocent Dr Suraj Giwa was killed by a drunk woman driver-Ibinabo. Every night in my nightmares, I see Dr Giwa dieing and needing urgent attention as Ibinabo fled the scene. I see his innocent kids, wife and aged mother grieve over the utterly needless loss of their loved one whose death was SOLELY caused by the IRRESPONSIBILITY of IBINABO. In my nightmares, I see Dr Giwa turn over and over in his grave shaking his head at the injustice that is the Nigerian nation as Ibinabo carries on with life as if she isnt the KILLER that she is. Getting married, having kids, even getting publicly involved in a messy leadership tussle of the AGN but worst of all, still getting sighted (reportedly) at public places, ordering for her GOOD,OLD INTOXICANTS. In my nightmares, I see Dr Giwa heaving a sigh of relief at the recent turn of events and waiting patiently to see if Ibinabo’s propaganda machinery and political connections will be able to upturn justice one more time, or if justice will finally prevail (even if it is ridiculously incommensurate with the weight of the crime)….. that he (Dr Giwa) may finally be able to sleep knowing that Justice has stepped into the situation of his death to deter other poorly brought-up, irresponsible, undisciplined people that drive on our roads..

@ijebujesha you said it well and said it all. ….. accident do happen agreed but what is missing is the sense of entitlement . It was the action before and after the accident that is troubling

Ibinabo was drunk, let the scene without a care for those in the other car and showed little remorse. She recently been lying up and down ….. remind me again how she been victimised. ??? .

The real victim is Dr Giwa and family lets not get it twisted please

Victimization? Vendetta?? You are surprised that she is still in jail?

Were you there when she killed a young doctor years back? Due to her negligence? Criminal negligence to say the least.

So she should be allowed to go because she is an entertainer like you?? Madam I don’t understand ooo…..

    April 1, 2016 at 7:08 am

Wow no wonder Ibby is in jail if this is the kinds of people that she has around her. Let’s see
A man’s life was taken albeit by accident by a woman in the limelight who refuses to be remorseful and beg for her own life.Does she not know what scriptures speaks on the matter even of manslaughter? They that kill must be killed even manslaughterer s can’t enter Heaven.
This is a bus stop that that no one wants to end at yet God in His mercies asks us to be remorseful of our sins, to ask those that we wronged to forgive us as well as asking God Himself after which He will cleanse us of the sin.. And so that you know the aggreived are not obligated to forgive if there is no’s like the phasrasees that refused to bring forth fruits worthy of repentence – they were rejected.
Then she said” well I went there once and they said no “and thenshe carried on in the limelight as if nothing happened. She should have quit the limelight and as Emeka reportedly said go and go and keep on going to the late victims house UNTIL they accept you. When they forgive you you then have to make restitution to them and not the court although money cannot bring back the deceased or ever be in exchange for him. It’s part of the remorsefulness. She should have offered all she had quit the AGN after all was done come to London to sit with her children and lay low for a while. Showing remorse to God. She didn’t but stayed in their faces in the Limelight not allowing their own healing to take place. Each time they saw her they would see their family members murderer! Nigerians in the Diaspora worldwide are applauding that she is jail not because they are wicked but Ibby truly shows no repentence and or remorsefulness.

For me I would increase that 5 years to the original 7 years for her still refusing to show remorse as she sits in jail concentrated instead on challenges against Ike and then asking people to beg the Oba. What does she want the Oba to do? It’s not even a death sentence or life in jail that she is facing. You only get Obas and presidents to intervene when the convict is facing a harsh sentence for a less crime etc. For me she should just shut up and take her punishment luke a good girl if not she will face Eternal fire for the bloodshed. Does she not know that Blood speaks to God?
She should also quit friends like these who should have told her to keep quiet and endure punishment instead are showing their true colours.
They are lucky they aren’t suspected of ritual

I dont understand this country again o. This is manslaugher a case of State versus accuse. What did u guys what d family to do. Free her? Nigeria is so lawless i swear so when the law finally does what it supposed to go … envokes grammar, shock and what not
Madam Young do u want a country that works to protect against criminal act ? …. Ibinabo has had days in court…. 3 court have found her guilty. She had enough time to prove her innocence which she clearly is not so abeg let the LAW DO IT WORK. BETTER NIGERIA BETTER ME AND YOU

    • Ebony

      April 1, 2016 at 11:37 am

Nigeria is definitely lawless. Why is there “finally” in your comment. Why didn’t the law act at the appropriate time. How many years later. That’s really my issue

    • Vivian

      April 1, 2016 at 12:53 pm

EBony maybe you dont understand the Law ……. The guilty verdict was done in 2007 . 2 years after the incident ……..It is Ibinabo who has been working the system using appeal, each time returning the same guilty . She is lucky she is in Naija . No where is a convict out on bail during an appeal ……. So really a delayed Jail sentence is due to her
Now she doesnt want to serve her term jejely but is appealing again

      April 1, 2016 at 2:12 pm

    April 1, 2016 at 9:26 am

I don’t think this woman understands the meaning of the words she used. Victimisation and Vendetta. Who is victimising Ibinabo, there was an accident, a man was killed, it was Ibinabo’s car that hit Dr Giwa’s car, we have no evidence that it was Dr Giwa who hit Ibinabo’s car. There is no evidence that Ibinabo’s car had a mechanical fault and therefore she lost control. There are plain hard facts to see. She has been found guilty by 3 courts, Magistrate court, High court and Court of Appeal and I don’t see the Supreme Court overturning this verdict. on technical grounds. So where is the Vendetta and Victimisation. If all the actors especially the women had formed a group to go and appeal to the family at the beginning of this matter, maybe Ibinabo will not be where she is now. It is 11 years after that Mrs Gloria Young aka Aunty/Sisi Bene has just woken up from her beauty sleep to start shouting Victimisation

Dear Madam Gloria, I been like your acting but this your statement no make sense at all. you should have kept your thoughts to yourself. Even the Bible says a fool is thought to be wise when he keeps quiet. if it was your husband that was killed would you make this kind of ridiculous statement. Madam Ibinapo should have handled the whole situation better. I believe the late Drs. family are humans and could have probably intervened if she…

Wow!! People just comment as if they were there when it happened. Considering the story of the guy who said he put her in a cab to hospital after the accident left her unconscious, who am I to judge? Only God n a few people actually know what truly happened. I pray that God help to resolve this issue the best way possible and grant all the people involved healing, closure and forgiveness. It is far better that 99 guilty people be set free than for an innocent person to suffer for what is false. May God help us all.

That Story was fake as a $3 dollar bill……If you believe it then how gullible !!!!!!!…. The case was in court 10 years , 5 eye witness gave evidence which totally differs from that story of the guy . Evidence in court showed Ibinabo walked out and left the scene . NO COMMA at all , neither any hospital evidence to back that story . This guy story never came up , he never gave evidence in court .. Just someone who has an imaginative idea of a story that can gain Ibinabo sympathy,,,

If he was really present yet he never mentioned the other person in Dr Giwa car , yet he never came forward before, yet his version differs from those 5 witness who swore under oat . . PLEASE STOP BEEN GULLIBLE AND RECEIVE SENSE .

Shm so people can be so mislead like this ???
Ehnn so you believed that cock and bull story ???
      Na wa for you oo
Anybody can make up a story and put it out there on the internet
How do you know that version was not written by Ibinabo Son or Family
The internet is not a court where you are bound to tell the truth
That what counts more than any rubbish put on the internet
The guy was not even bold enough to put his full name and details
Charles could have randomly picked any surname or nameless person
That can never be credible evidence or story
Go to court and say it under oat ,,,, Then we will know you are credible
not a nameless person behind the computer

Accidents happen. You take responsibility for it. You don’t flee the scene and try and defend your stance by telling everyone how important your career is and how we are supposed to let you go act more movies. A man died. A human being died. Please madam nightmares, try sassy water….minus weight loss benefits….it gives good night sleep too.

How would IBBY feel if someone killed her son and behaves the way she has been behaving? Even you madam young there is something called EMPATHY too. Haba,no mother wants to be alive and bury her child. Enough said. Madam pls serve your sentence in peace. God will help you.

We should have compassion more for the family that lost a relative. My brother hit an elderly man last Dec at iyana ipaja. He had to appeal to passers by who accompanied him(someone had to hold the bleeding man in his car) while he drove him to the hospital. he was rejected and asked to take him to general hospital instead. He did. Thankfully the man made full recovery and my brother paid for the hospital bill. The family of the man were very grateful he didn’t abandon him and didn’t press charges. Today, he is friends with the old man and even still visits. You see, its the same accident ,just handled differently. May Mr Giwa rest in peace and the family continue to find comfort with the lord.

So because she’s an entertainer, she should go on drunken rampage, drive drunk and kill hardworking ppl.
Pls sit down somewhere and let’s hear word.
I guess they’re all trying to show IB support but don’t want to acknowledge that she deserves jail time.
