I hope she pays her bills.. because they made me present my Blue Cross insurance card before I got into the hospital to deliver.. Many hospitals are having difficulties due to these people coming and delivering for free on tax payers money. Then they might think with an American Passport it is a free ride to college.. Well i know many people who got disappointed and sent back their kids to Accra for college.. as they did not want to take loan for 4 years.. PAY YOUR BILLS MADAM.. BECAUSE WE ARE PAYING LOCAL, FEDERAL AND STATE TAXES.. FROM OUR PAY CHECKS.. rubbish..!

Amen! These people are abusing America’s healthcare system and citizenship by birth rights. They don’t care.

Congrats to her but these Nigerian celebrities like Mercy Johnson, 2face’s wife Annie, and so many others having anchor babies in America need to stop.

Oh pls. Like ur ghanian bredas and sistehs are exempt?

      May 11, 2016 at 7:09 pm

Please my dear.ghanaians are not exempt but as compared to Nigerian celebs,it much worse.trust me.I can’t count the number of naija celebs flocking to deliver in the States .I can bet my life on that. But let’s not be nationalistic. We are all one from this world.Truth is anchor baby delivery may not be bad but is being abused by people at the expense of tax paid by we the ones here.I don’t know but even learnt that some celebs even deliver here and also get food stamps in addition as if they can’t afford food but they can.If true,I think is unfair

First of all, it is GHANAIAN not Ghanian. I have said the same thing about the Ghanaian celebs like Nadia Buari having her anchor twins in Atlanta.

@Ama(Ghana) and awiase .. I may be wrong but it’s entirely possible that ghanaian celebs do it as much.. maybe because we don’t know that many ghanaian celebs (I sawthe Ghana music award red carpet and to be honest I had no idea who half of those ppl were besides joselyn, efya, Shirley frimpong, and selly).. and those we do know.. Both the actresses and singers.. aren’t pregnant or even married.. etc.. The last ghanaian celeb I remember giving Birth was nadia Buari.. and that was like 3 years ago.

That being said I’m nt a big fan of these anchor babies.. Nd its simply because I don’t see the point unless its a case of a complicated pregnancy where better facilities are necessary.. bt in that case I’d probably go to Germany.

The only Ghanaian celebrity who I know has anchor babies is Nadia Buari. She had her twin girls in Atlanta in 2015(a lot of Ghanaians have criticised her. I think that’s why she has been spending more time in Atlanta than Ghana now) . But most Ghanaian celebrities(at least the ones I have read) have children in countries in which their partners are citizens. Ex: Esther Smith had her son in Germany but her husband is a German citizen. Nigerian celebrities like Luckie Lawson, 2face’s wife—Annie Macaulay, Mercy Johnson and several other Nigerian celebs are leading the pack. These celebrities are doing nothing but exploiting the existing US system and citizen by jus soil, I find it deeply disturbing to use your child solely as a bait for citizenship. They rush off into someone’s country to give birth and enjoy their medical facilities even if they are paying and it comes across as abuse of the system. It can be wrongly argued that as long as they can afford it, they should be able to fly into the United States and give birth, therefore, these celebrities are not doing anything ‘wrong’ by doing so. The fact is the United States do not want pregnant women coming into their country to give birth to Anchor babies.

@Ama(Ghana).. i definitely do hear you.. nd yes it is definitely an abuse of the system… like i said.. im not one to do such.. because i consider my self a global citizen.. i’ve never really had issues gaining visas.. and my sister and brother actually renounced their citizenship of a country in europe simply because it didnt permit them to Have dual citizenship… they chose to retain nigerian citizenship.. any way.. overseas no do ginger some of us… lol.. Take heart..

I have to apply to get a dual citizenship with Ghana as when I became a citizen of America 5 years ago, my Ghanaian citizenship was dropped. America premits dual citizenship with Ghana so I just need to apply at a Ghana embassy. What some of these commentators are not understanding is that it is someone else’s country and they built their own healthcare system and they have every right to criticise those who abuse their system. Think of it this way: If Nigeria was like America with a good economy, good medical system and their consitution allows citizenship by jus soil. Imagine people from all over Africa and various parts of the world coming to your country to birth because of the good medical system and citizenship by jus soil. How exactly do you think the citizens will feel after many years of this sort of abuse occurring?

How is it ur business where people choose to give birth? Are you the one financing the venture? See all the epistles you have written under various comments carrying their matter on your head. Let me educate you a little. Most Nigerians who go to give birth esp anywhere in Texas do so because of the comparatively cheap self pay packages these hospitals and doctor’s offer. They know to go with their complete money and even collect zero balance from the hospital so that nothing holds them back during visa renewal. So don’t be screaming tax payers money: they are not entitled to any free Medicaid from the gov’t because once you do, you can kiss your visa renewal success good bye. I should know because I had my kid at the same hospital. So calm your tits.

      May 11, 2016 at 11:53 pm

If he is based in the US meaning that he is a citizen, then that’s fine. But if he is not, then she and him are abusing the system.

And who the hell told you Nadia conceived and bore those kids herselfBounce u are sadly mistaken. You don’t know the least. One day the whole story will come out.

How does one whom I saw with my own two eyes at Majid mom’s memorial at Agape Church in East Legon on Dec 9 2014, with flat tummy all if a sudden bear twins less than three months later in 2015.

ASK any and I mean any of her colleagues if anybody saw her pregnant during the memorial in Agape Church on Dec 2014.

We know the truth wai. Don’t be deceived, that’s all ie gotta say. Bounce

Ohemaa, not all pregnant women are the same. When my mother was pregnant with I and my sister(we’re identical twins), most people didn’t know that she was even pregnant until she was some months along and even so she had a small stomach as she was very skinny. Every woman carries their pregnancy weight differently so do not expect all to be the same, wai.

Mind your business people! Africa is unstable and if you can afford to travel to another country, give birth safely, receive better care and enjoy soil’s rights, why not?
I will do it times and times again. If my children wish to study abroad or travel, they will have less restriction and cheaper school fees.
The only issue with the USA is that Uncle Sam wants you to pay taxes regardless of whether you reside in the USA or not. But if you find yourself in the middle of a conflict, they will rescue you very fast.
    Canada is another option.
Pertaining to hospital fees not being paid, this is not acceptable and an abuse of the system. They should understand that if they keep doing that, they will make it difficult for others in the future.

Please leave her alone. If you cannot congratulate a mother over the birth of her child, leave her alone! She has a right to deliver her child anywhere she can afford to. It’s horrible how we find it difficult to just genuinely spread good cheer this days. … God help us all.
