DR Congo musician, Koffi Olomide has been deported from kenya after a video of him kicking a woman at the airport went viral on social media.

Olomide was arrested on Friday night, and was in police custody till Saturday morning. He was sent back to his home country via a Kenya Airways flight that left the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) at 11:35AM Kenyan time.

He had just been interviewed on Citizen TV before police apprehended him and his dancers. He was in Nairobi for a concert at Bomas of Kenya.

Koffi had apologised Friday evening after he saw the video, saying that he was defending his dancer from a lady who was threatening them at the airport.

“I watched the video with a lot of distress where it seems that I was assaulting one of my dancers. On the contrary I was defending my dancers from a lady who was threatening them at the airport,” he said in a Facebook post.

Kenyan police chief Joseph Boinnet had given notice and instructed airport police to take immediate action.

Wow, wow, wow!! If he’s bold enough to be this violent in public, I cannot imagine the monster he is in private!! Kudos to the kenyan government for sending his woman assaulting behind out of their country.. Don’t know transpired leading to his action and really don’t care because his act was outright despicable!!

What he has done is bad and it’s good he got deported but really women are violent too in a way. Look at the girls in akure that beat up a guy for harassing (talking anyhow to) them and women were applauding them. Linda even added ‘lol’ to the caption. No one should beat up anyone either cus you are physically stronger or you outnumber the person. Nkan ti o da o da…..

He wasn’t only going to kick her. His actual intention was to beat her up. Watch it on various videos on You Tube where it’s longer. He kicks her and keeps going after her (IN PUBLIC! the man is probably on drugs!), actually, he charges, like the very menacing monster he’s certain to be in private, after her CLEARLY with the intention to do her more bodily harm and takes one Kenyan airport official after another hurriedly interposing their bodies between him and her, directly in front of him, blocking his path and progress and pleading with him before he eventually comes to a standstill BUT you still see him with his yes still locked on her, beyond the Kenyan officials right in front of him, speaking with him and blocking him. The violence is still there in his gaze. Like a predator that cannot take its eyes off the intended kill.

He must be some kind/degree of psychopath, combined with the mindset that he was in ‘Africa’/nothing would happen/he was a superstar/he was ‘untouchable’ and very probably, also, combined with some kind of narcotic for him to have done ANY of that IN PUBLIC.

If he has been given any kind of non-music awards in his home country and anywhere else, he should immediately be stripped of them. And whether the woman brings charges or not, the State should bring charges and make him pay damages to her (so she can be economically free of him and leave him) and make it clear to him that should any harm, bruises, whatever be seen on the lady, he would be held responsible, no questions asked.

Someone should be checking her body for bruises every city they go to after his release from jail. But then, there are so many other ways to dehumanise a woman without beating her up. He could rape her. He could have her gang-raped by his other band members whilst he watches. He could urinate and/or defecate on her whilst his band members, including the other women watch. He could make make her perform all kinds of demeaning sexual acts on him whilst others watch, or have her perform them on others whilst he watches. He could video any of all these and hold over head and use the threat of making it public to control her all her life.

      POVERTY IS EVIL.

Tout! Bully! Why did you guys only deport him?
Some of these celebrities who see themselves as Pharoahs of past.
This is how you behave when you let fame and wealth cloud your senses. You forget that when you die, it’s the same type of insects and sand that fed and covered a mad man or woman that will have a feast on your carcass.
Why disrespect those who you judge as beneath you? There are a thousand and one ways to express your frustration other than this.

Such cases are difficult to try when there is no complainant. Probably because she depends on him and is vulnerable, the woman did not press charges. Instead Olomide had her sit by his side as he cooked up a story for the cameras prior to his deportation. Nevertheless, the cancellation of his visa, the night he spent in the police cells and his subsequent deportation sends a strong message that this sort of behaviour should not be tolerated.

I am glad he got deported, so proud of Kenya’s police force. I felt so embarrassed watching the video. What a monster! He lacks self control and probably very arrogant too. We have to do better as a people and try as much as possible to treat everyone with respect and dignity. I bet he never expected to be deported from an africa country due to the notion that we don’t have high moral standard. This serves him right.

This how it should be done . Chris brown is still suffering for his Rihana episode. No one born of a woman should assault another woman. It is barbaric and so wrong . Even animals protect their females .

No one born of a woman, or man :-), should assault anyone period. Good move by the Kenyan government. Problem is the girl will be there begging him now, as he’s likely her benefactor.

If it were Nigeria they’d blame the woman for having a sharp mouth and not being a virgin. Next thing Freeze will drop his nuggets on women who can’t cook at home that want to complain because of small beating. And if they want to pass anti-beating Bill, even Nigerian women won’t support it

Lol. You have said everything in just a few sentences.

I’m impressed by Kenya. The people in that country are obviously awake. I even found out this is not even the first time assault charges have been brought towards Kofi. This will teach him a lesson. We need one or two scapegoats from Nigeria as well. It Will send a good message to others with animal behavior.

You Kenyans are talking so much rubbish over an individual who has given his last 20 years entertaining you. That girl called it on herself, she was told in private to zip it. She carried on, now that she has no job will see what her future will look like. You can ban congolese music for life has well.
