Ted Cruz Fails to Formally Endorse Trump at GOP Convention | Watch

One of Donald Trump‘s former rival in the Republican Primary, Ted Cruz Wednesday night failed to endorse the party’s presidential candidate.

Cruz mentioned Trump’s name just once in his speech, congratulating him for becoming the party’s nominee.

“I congratulate Donald Trump on winning the nomination last night,” Cruz said. “And like each of you, I want to see the principles that our party believes prevail in November.”

Wrapping up his speech, Cruz said:

“Please don’t stay home in November. If you love our country and love your children as much as I know that you do, stand and speak and vote your conscience. Vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the constitution.”
