Excuse me! Missed out of what, with what or where. She has made the fame and money. besides she has played her role in the movie industry (nollywood) and one time a beauty queen and this makes her a legend. Nothing lasts forever and nothing trend/reign forever. They have to give way for the likes of Gene, O sexy, Rita D etc to come in. Life goes on … She has to move on and go explore other aspect of life.

Everything you wrote is right except including Omotola in those she paved way for…ERROR!!!
They were the two top leading females then, her or the other. Omotola is royalty, she was doing it then, and she’s still doing it.

Askia was way way way before Omotola. Don’t even bring the two close at all. Don’t even suggest it. Askia reigned and worked with the Ego Boyos, Hilda Dokubo, Liz Benson, late Bukky Ajayi, RMD, Segun Arinze, Kanayo, Bob Manuel, Ramsey Noah. People who were players in the industry before Omotola. Please Omotola did not see Askia’s dust, thank you. The woman was and still is in a class all by herself

How old are you….ok run along and check your BC then comeback for me.

Since you are in denial, I will pull a page in Nollywood history book for you.
Mega fortunes gave break to Regina Askia in T.V not home video. When she made her break into home video in 1998/99 (Most wanted or some movie) Omotola already had the break, recognition and Best actress award for movie Mortal Inheritance in 96/97. Now that’s before Regina would ever receive any type of accolades for her roles.

I’m a big fan of both so I’m writing based on facts, they were contemporaries 100%
Down memory lane, Omotola started having babies thereby slowing down her taking roles, but once she bounce back, Its either her or Regina.

My point is Regina never paved way for Omotola- NEVER
That said yes Regina is in a class of her own, she was a star’s star.

@ Dolly, oh I wish you didn’t….Omotola got married in 1996 right, at the age of 18.
Well Askia’s big break was on the hit NTA tv series, Fortunes. Fortunes was in 1993. That put Omotola at what age 15? Please do your homework before you show yourself.
@ Ola As for those who know, Nollywood evolved naturally from TV. TV ppaved way for the stars that we grew to love in Nollywood. Ask those who know and don’t speculate because of inaccuracies on Google.
      Which yeye Nollywood before TV?

….and you know you lied about that bit of ‘….that’s before Regina would ever receive any accolades for her role.’ Fact, Nollywood was a little crude back then, TV provided refined entertainment. Nobody cared about Nollywood accolades. TV was where the stars were made. Nigeria back then wasn’t Hollywood where nobody cared about Tv but wanted the big screen. In Nigeria you wanted TV not 51 Iweks road Onitsha

      @Naija…..
Damn son why are you so pressed. You missed my point, “Regina did not pave way for Omotola, they were contemporaries”

      Case Study- Movie success/contemporaries

Little bit of TMI….Ralph Nwadike got Regina into the industry through Fortunes (1992) then Mega Fortunes, same soap that started careers of Ramsey Nouah, Liz benson etc (She was already what they call ‘big girl’ owing to her title & exposure while living on the Lagos Island).
T.V success then was minimal compared to the evolution of home videos.

Zeb Ejiro is to Omotola, what Ralph is to Regina. She started her career with home video in Nneka the pretty Serpent (small role) in 1992 before her National big break with Mortal Inheritance in 1995 (17yrs). So technically they would be fellow movie stars (co-workers) from 1995 till 2001 when Regina relocated. And please lets be clear do not credit my facts to Google, I used to know some of these people.

So next time when you try to idolize Regina (whom i have great love and admiration for) don’t you try to be-little Omotola’s success, journey and the many wigs she snatched (lol) with that flimsy excuse.
She might not have the beauty queen title nor the pedestal Regina was on, but that bih had a strong presence since 1995, holding it down through marriage, raising her kids and been at the top from day one.
Its not about how many people who started the race, its about who finished the race strong- peace out!!

Askia wasn’t way way before omotola. Askia came through soap operas and omotola through home videos. Just like genevieve and omotola is reigning so was Omotola and Askia reign. Wish Sandra achums too will just come back. Miss her too.

Also if you are talking about people who reigned with Askia, Liz Benson, Hilda Dokubo are the names you should mention not Omotola. They were not on the same level AT ALL.

The likes of Liz Benson, Hilda Dokubo etc all were playing middle aged, wife, motherly roles. Sit your ignorant ass somewhere, you are beginning to get on my nerves with your baseless theories.
Regina and Omotola were the ‘IT’ girl then coz they had the height, beauty and presence. They even lose roles to each other e.g when Omotola got that Humiliation lead role from Regina coz she was still filming Highway to grave with Helen Ukpabio. All the names you mentioned Regina had worked with, Omotola had worked with too way back in the 1990’s.

Like can someone lend this naijatalk some brain smdh
