Clap Back! Read Oby Ezekwesili’s Reply to a Twitter User

Oby Ezeks

So a Twitter User Chuma – ‏@Chu_moni made an observation about the fact that Former Minister of Education Oby Ezekwesili‘s son moves around in a ‘Keke Napep’.

He said:

Each time I see Oby ezekwesili’s son coming down from keke napep, I just feel the parents are being stupidly strict. Give d man a car Abeg

Chuma Noni

The tweet eventually got to her notice and she responded saying:

Hahaha. But how e take concern you, Oga? Did my son complain to you? Young man is working out his own FUTURE. ?

To Chuma’s surprise, a lot of her followers agree with her parenting style:

Beck Lekside Faridah jaba Obiora

In the end, all is forgiven and a lot of lessons can be picked from this: Work out your own future and don’t think you can depend on your parents:

That annoying Naija mentality, “Give him a car now” It is this mentality that is partly to blame for the incurable corruption that we now have – parents wanting to give their children and children’s children a car and then a house and then a yacht.
Oby, good on you o jare, all you owe your kid is a sound education, after that he should go a-fishing!

Really annoying mentality, that is how you people push parents to steal and show off. How can you teach a parent how to train their own child? Go and born your own and buy them a car each. That is a very stupid comment to make

My physics teacher once told us that he never allowed his sons to drive his car, even though they knew how to drive.

He told them that it was his car and not theirs. The lesson there was to make those kids realise that they had to work hard like their dad to earn and buy the comfort they desired.

Many parents do this and it works.

Good parenting from Mrs OBY. All she owes her child is a Sound Education. That is why we are “where we are”.

Oby’s son that is in Harvard is who you people are looking for car to give. They all want to fee paying schools in the U.K. Plus uni abroad. Now they have top jobs. Who car don help. That’s quality enough to me. You know how much the tuition is? But when a politician’s son rides in a Bentley the same people will complain

When u buy ‘ur own’ car with ‘ur own’ hard earned money, u tend to take better care n r mindful of other road users. I can’t count how many kids who have killed people in nasty accidents n left the mess for their parents to fix, after all ‘it’s my father’s car nah’.

lol. ‘Buy him car koo’. Of all the flashy and exotic cars my parents have, I’m entitled to drive one KABU KABU LOOKING VOLVO SALON CAR. My dad says if you can’t drive it then trek or buy yours. When you live abroad you will see every one getting on the bus, tram, n train. Nobody will tell u to humble yourself and do the same or trek… GOOD PARENTING MUMMY OBY…
