Winner of the 2016 African Nail Art Competition walks away with N1million | See Photos from the Event
The second edition of the Africa’s Nail Art Competition which is a CSR initiative for nail technicians, organized by Nectar Beauty Academy took place from the 6th-8th of October 2016 at the Landmark Center during the Beauty Africa Exhibition and Conference.
The three-day event brought together, nail technicians from all over the country, all displaying their creativity and artistic nail art designs and competing to take home the grand prize of 1 million naira. The competition was geared towards empowerment and addition of value to the lives and careers of the participating nail technicians.
With different themes for each day (Day 1- Fruits in Africa, Day 2- It’s all about the Bling, and Day 3- Just for Christmas), the works of the 20 contestants were judged by internationally renowned celebrity manicurist, educator and Orly ambassador Elsbeth Schutz. In addition, she trained all contestants for the duration of the competition, giving them tips and showing them advanced nail techniques. Every participant took away certificates and goody bags. In addition, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions were given trophies while the 1st also took away the cash prize of 1 million Naira.
Alongside the competition, Nectar Beauty Hub conducted a massive sale on nails, spa, and hair products with executive representatives from major international brands they stocked like Orly and Babybliss Pro in attendance.
