An Awkward Lady, a collection by UK design duo Ife’s Closet features an 14-piece collection of high fashion vintage ready to wear pieces through classic prints and fabric from slim line dresses and pencil skirts to an array of colour blocking tops, playsuits and waistcoat dusters.

Designed by sisters Titi and Tinuke Ukrinamemen, the London based designers’ second collection was created and inspired after reading the New York Times bestselling memoir, ‘The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl’ by Issa Rae, author and creator of the HBO series ‘Insecure’.

“The story really resonated with us as we could read events that we went through and relate to her misgivings. This collection is an acceptance and celebration of our awkwardness, from the boyish Greta playsuit to the peak sleeves details on the Adanna dress. Instead of shying away from it, we celebrate it combined with our femininity,” said Titi Ukrinamemen.

The model is gorgeous!!!!! Thanks for keeping the hair as is. I don’t see awkward in these clothes but by all means, connect with Issa Rae to have some pieces on the show. The clothes are nice though

Nice collection, but this is something any other Nigerian tailor can do. Just saying.
