“I hope some kingdom children will not begin to envy (these types) of worldly glories” – Gospel Filmmaker Mike Bamiloye Speaks on #BBNaija

The just concluded Big Brother Naija Reality TV show since it started on January 22, 2017 faced a series of attacks.

First it was the fact that the House is located in South Africa, and not Nigeria as expected.

The show, which was filmed live to viewers across Africa was also attacked when the housemates kissed and groped each other during their infamous “kissing game” and Truth or Dare sessions.

At some point a petition also circulated on social media demanding that the show be stopped.

Viewers defended the organisers of the show as they said the channel where it aired needs to be subscribed to and was not free-to-air.

Gospel Filmmaker, Mike Bamiloye, in two separate Facebook posts lamented that the show glorified and glamourised immorality.

The President of Mount Zion Faith Ministries added that he hopes some pastors won’t begin to make reference of the winner as a product of grace.

A show can damage a youth, don’t asassume that it just being a show has no implications. People including youths are watching. Always read a message in its entirety. He is advising Pastors not to see it as a product if grace.I did not watch the show and I am glad I did not, don’t think people don’t know what’s happening. Though I did not watch, there were reviews and reports out there about it and yes, it glorifies immorality.

I think you miss his point entirely. I totally agree with him. He isn’t speaking about himself,so it’s not a case of flipping channels.

      @FasholasLover
You spoke like a juvenile hasty to make an attractive comment and impress fellow juveniles.
“How did he know what happened” “Whatever happened to flipping the channel?” Bla bla. Are you for real? How old are you. Such retorts are lame justification and will not hold water.
Who does not know that the violent dance of a mad man can rouse the whole neighbourhood, even those not beating the drums.
I wished it only stayed on a channel and it didn’t get to our timelines unsolicited.
I wished Federal, State and Local government did not use tax payers money to drum support for their preferred participant.
I wished the noises it generated did not disturb our quiet times and invade our space.
I wished so much nudity and depravity didn’t become so discussed to our hearing even when we kept our distance.
I wished it was not MTN, anywhere you go
Are we supposed to unhear what we’ve heard or unsee what we did see. How is that even possible.
I used to assume you were enlightened in the real sense, but now I know the eyes of your understanding needs massive enlightenment.
Mike Bamiloye has spoken well and put it into perfect context for the bandwagonist men of God, who will be quick to praise moneyed outsiders while looking down on labourers in the vineyard. That Bbn naija show was as empty as a barrel, that’s why it generated all sorts of noise. To borrow from Adekunle Gold, Ariwo ko ni music.

[email protected] . .and it doesn’t mean he watched it. He may have been informed on what’s been happening. Besides every single stuff from the show was published on the news and social media platforms. You open your facebook or instagram page, you see updates from BB Naija posted by various groups. Even without subscribing for the show, one can read the updates and know exactly all the activities going on via social media.

Big brother is simply a tv game show of human behaviour that determines who the most likeable housemate is among viewers. it tests the tolerance, perseverance, resilience etc of the housemates. The plot of the game is really not a bad idea if everybody keeps their hormones in check.
As usual in sanctimonious nigeria, sexual aberrations are the only sinful actions.
Corruption, injustice, greed, marginalisation, tribalism etc all of these are so dominant among your (pastor bamiloye) generation but nah you never make posts about them…leave thrash for lawma abeg
Nobody glorifed anything, the winner won because he was humble, friendly and appealed to the ‘pity me’ part of Nigerians
Nobody was campaigned for or voted because of their sexual immorality

      THANK YOU!!!!

The show is not only about the housemates but also about us a society. If that TBoss and Kemen issue had happened years ago, we would have condemned TBoss. But this time (and I am so fucking proud of us for making these strides), we condemned who was supposed to be condemned and challenged our preconceived notions of consent.

TLDR: Keep BBNaija, it helps us as a people evolve.

BTW, I didn’t watch the show, i live in the US, so there is no way i would have seen it, but i knew about this TBOZZ, Bisola, Efe, from reading social media and peoples comments. So its possible not to have watched and still know one or two things about the show.

I ABSOLUTELY agree with you sir. May God help the youths in this millennium. amen

So if Efe is not a product of grace, then is the money a gift from the devil? God can bless anyone through any means.. I refuse to take God’s glory and give to something else because “kingdom children don’t like it” let’s hear word. A family has been uplifted! Is it not kingdom children that threw out poor Hope to die.. Only for a woman with tattoos “mark of the devil” according to kingdom children, to come and give him a second chance. Kingdom children gbakwaoku there. How many kingdom children show love to the oppressed, how many give the undeserving a chance at life, how many so called kingdom children will open their cars to let in the pregnant woman at the bustop standing in the rain. Una dey criticize big brother. The greatest commandment is love.. Kingdom children don’t have any. Just the promise of hell if you’re not one of them

      April 12, 2017 at 10:31 pm

@Zinay. That generalized statement is not true. If you see a suit case containing money on the floor, God does not expect you to steal it. The owner may be praying to God, you seeing it is God’s answer to another’s prayers and he expects you to be faithful. When my phone got lost I was so glad someone took it from a cart and handed it to customer service . I praised God it was found and the person who found it did not steal it. Therefore God does not provide through any means. If you killed to get money or committed fornication or adultery to get it. Is that God? Absolutely not. Not every supposedly Blessing comes from God.

Religion is the opium of the masses! The biggest commandment that Christianity preaches, how many Kingdom Children actually practice it?! Someone and his family’s life just change, and he did not kill anybody for the money, carry your kingdom children logic and move away from here!

Now I understand why Nigerians steal with impunity, then come and give thanks in church. After all God can bless you through any means.

God bless you sir!!! Kingdom children should know better and the young adult I suppose didn’t watch it if they have kingdom parents. As per churches associating with grace and favor, hmmmm I suppose true kingdom people should decipher and be wise in these endtime that church/man of God won’t get you to heaven but your personal relationship with God. People are searching for God themselves and not waiting on doctrines anymore. Let everyone (individual not group) work out his salvation till the end with fear and trembling. Let God know you by name.

People do worse in their houses and condemn the big brother show, God’s favour was all over Efe, denying this fact will be discrediting God. The show has uplifted families, maybe there should be a show for kingdom children.

The same Kingdom Children doing worse in real life?
The same ones who are white washed sepulchres like the Pharisees of Jesus’ time?
    Please.
Anyone who is a member of a church and spends time around Christians knows that church people do far worse than whatever the housemates did.
The church is full of sinners too, broken people in search of redemption but why are we so quick to act like we are superior?
If cameras followed us around 24/7 how many of us would hold up?

See Nigerians have this idea that immorality can only come from sexuality, so churches spend so much time obsessing over this and letting everything else fall by the wayside.
It’s perfectly fine to be rude, uncouth, selfish, dirty, envious, steal money & get a front row seat in church, be the biggest hypocrite around…etc.
So far as you aren’t spotted kissing anyone or your skirt is the right length you are fine.
