In 2012, he founded Haleematus-Sa’adiyya Recyclings (short form: HRecyclings) out of his passion to turn “waste to wealth” and fast-forward 5 years, the company has recycled more than 10,000 tonnes of plastic wastes and engaged more than 200 wastes scavengers and providers.

Abdullahi Salisu started his company as an undergraduate student of the Department of Biochemistry at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria to serve as his contribution to reducing environmental pollution.

HRecyclings is a plastic waste management company that collects recyclable plastic wastes, processes it and converts it into reusable materials such as polyethylene bags

The company currently produces tissue (from paper wastes), bags, lumber, desks, benches, tables (from plastic wastes), and other wastes are sold out as a raw material to other local industries.

The company, which started in Bauchi, has expanded to Kano. He is the founder of AREWA Recyclers, Kano.

Salisu, being a visionary, is looking at making plastic lumber to curtail effects of deforestation and in the long-run, waste to energy conversion.

Salisu is an Associate Fellow of the Nigeria Leadership Initiative and an Alumnus of Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program (TEEP). He is also a 2016 fellow of the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders.
