35-year old businesswoman Diane Shima Rwigara, who is Rwanda’s only female presidential candidate has been disqualified from next month’s election, with authorities saying that she didn’t submit enough supporters’ signatures.

According to electoral laws, independent presidential candidates are required to present 600 signatures, with at least 12 from each of Rwanda’s 30 districts.

She was excluded from the race for submitting signatures of some people who have been long dead, ABC News reports

The commission’s announcement comes as Amnesty International charges that the election will be held under a “climate of fear” and repression.

Rwandans go to the polls August 4 and will have to choose among longtime President Paul Kagame, Frank Habineza of the opposition Democratic Green Party and independent candidate Philippe Mpayimana.

Gilbert Mwenedata and Fred Sekikubo Barafinda, were also disqualified alongside Diane over the same issue.

Dafuq are you rambling now about?! Do you really know or understand the political scene in Rewanda before you open your mouth and started spewing your gibberish and displaying your ignorance on BN?!

If she violated the electoral act, there is no sentiments in facing the law.

I just knew some women will come and start claiming gender bias.

Na una sabi. You want to be president, but you have nude pics flying up and down. So you women don’t even think you can do better or have better representatives.

My only prayer is that nobody will come and undo the things Kagame has done.

I used to respect Paul Kagame the Rewandan president for bringing stability to the country after their civil war.
However, he seems to be suffering from the same disease that plagues all African leaders, known as rule until infinity!! He obviously has gotten them to extend the term limits for the Rewandan presidency and yet still refuses to allow the opposition to contest against him by silencing them..
My question to Paul Kagame is, what are you so afraid of??

Gender card will fly as usual. Two other male candidates were disqualified, no red flags were raised. When the African women are ready, no one can stop them.
