The Taxify driver who was accused by a passenger of sexually assaulting her during a trip has been arrested, the victim tweeted on Friday night.

She had recounted that in establishing a conversation with her, he touched the topic of sexual orientation and she mentioned being a lesbian. She said the driver touched her breasts, saying: “lesbians don’t react to male touch“.

She reported the issue to the Taxify authorities and he was promptly taken off the platform. The driver has now been arrested.

The victim said he’ll be charged with sexual assault.

Good news. That kind of behavior is not to be tolerated. And to be taken seriously without victim blaming!

Silly Guy…May this be a lesson to all. You cannot go around and just be laying hands on people!

The last time I checked homosexuality is still punishable by 14yrs imprisonment in Nigeria. Why isn’t the lady arrested. Both of them should be prosecuted.

Last time I checked saying you are a lesbian won’t get you arrested. Just told a policeman I sniff coke. He laughed and called me ‘weyrey’. My point? I don’t know maybe saying crap means nothing to anyone unless you are from Pakistan or Bangladesh.

next time walk up to a Nigerian police illiterate and confess to homosexuality. If you are lucky you fit reach station if not jungle justice will be enforced. In Nigeria you can walk like a dog, bark like a dog , even wag your tail like a dog , but must NEVER confess to being a dog. Cute niggerian if you think I am lying I dare you to tell police u be homo. Don’t forget to come back here and give testimony of your experience

No homosexuality is not punishable by 14yrs imprisonment, it’s actually gay marriage that’s a crime. How come some people are so dumb and ignorant not to know this. Even if two lesbians are caught in the act, they have done nothing wrong according to the law. Know ur rights people.

You people bringing up her lesbianism are nowhere to be found on the other posts on rape victims on the blog today. Clearly you’re only into victim blaming and don’t care about rape

I live in the north I have seen people beat up so bad for walking funny. You see police brutalising them people just stand by without intervention, including me and some in house bella blog ghost supporters. Is it right that they get beat up , hell no, what you learn from it is that there is no provision in Nigerian law for the protection of gay rights. Therefore you protect yourself and do not give them the opportunity to finish you off. We got a lot of gay celebrities in Nigeria non of them disclose homosexuality ( (even when it is obvious they are are gay) non of them is supporting gay rights. Until Nigerians are brave enough to challenge government on gay tinz lets stop looking for scapegoats to carry cause. If this driver is arraigned before a Christian homophobic judge he will be bias in his judgment and let him off with a warning. So who the homosexual factor epp.
