Governor of Kaduna state Nasir El-Rufai has said that the leadership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) warned President Muhammadu Buhari about appointing Aisha Jummai Alhassan as minister (women affairs)
This came on the heels of a viral video showing the minister praying that former vice president Atiku Abubakar becomes president in 2019.
Alhassan has said that Atiku is her “godfather” and she’ll resign her position to support him if him and Buhari are in the presidential race come 2019.
El-Rufai, speaking to State House correspondents Friday, said Alhassan is disloyal to the president, adding that she did not vote for Buhari during the APC presidential primary of 2014, one in which Atiku was a candidate.
Punch reports that the governor said Alhassan has never been a Buhari supporter but an Atiku loyalist.
He said Nigerians should not be shocked, adding that the decision to keep her as a minister or let her go is one only Buhari can make.
