Police say Substances Suspected to be Drugs were Found in DJ Olu’s Car

Police say Substances Suspected to be Hard Drugs were Found in DJ Olu's Car - BellaNaijaThe Lagos State Police Commissioner, Edgar Imohimi, has said substances suspected to be drugs were found in the car of late Gbemiga Biodun, popularly known as DJ Olu, who passed along with his friend Chime Amaechi, in the car.

Imohimi said the substances found will be analysed to determine if they are indeed drugs. He said:

They were found dead in the garage.

Some substances suspected to be drugs were found in the vehicle.

But in any case, autopsies would be carried out to know the cause of death.

There were no marks of violence on their bodies. Let the autopsies explain the cause of death.

The substances will also be analysed. We need expert opinion and it is being done.

Both DJ Olu and Chime were found dead on Saturday in a BMW car in a garage on Block B, Banana Island, Lagos, Punch reports.

A source who spoke to Punch corroborated the police report, saying the two were found with blood coming out of their noses and mouths. The source said:

A team raced to the scene. On getting there, the lifeless bodies of two adult males were found in a BMW car, with number plate, KJA 631 AY, at the underground garage of Block B, Banana Island.

After making some enquiries, the victims were identified as Olugbenga Abiodun, 25. He lived on Block 11 of the estate. The other victim, Chime Amaechi, was also aged 25.

They were found dead in the car and blood was coming out of their noses and mouths.

A doctor was also at the scene. Physical examination of the bodies indicated that the victims must have died of an overdose of substances suspected to be hard drugs. The substances were found in the car.

Does the report look real to you?. Those guys were found bleeding profusely from their mouth. It is more likely they were poisoned. Nigerian police dey do investigation? Just don’t take their word.

They were fund dead in the garage if the car was running then its CO poisoning, even if there was cocaine, codeine, horse tranquilizers etc in the car…the circumstances of their death still points out to CO poisoning. This is why they warn you not to run your car in a poorly ventilated area.

Most new cars now have catalytic converters that convert toxic gases to less toxic pollutants by catalyzing a redox reaction (an oxidation and a reduction reaction.) He’s probably never driven an old car that’s prone to emitting CO in confined spaces.

His father could have stifled this report from coming out, so I’m really wondering…

If there is insufficient oxygen caused by operating the car in a closed space such as a garage, then the catalytic converter would be ineffective as there is not enough oxygen to convert CO to CO2

The Father knows that the guy was on shit. It is also possible for both to bleed and die at the same time especially if they ingested together. I think their supplier should be reeled in. Other members of the gang should beware.

The big question is what were they doing in the garage? Don’t you leave and get out of your car after you’ve parked? Why do drugs in your car in a garage instead of the comfort of your own apartment? A toxicology screen will reveal if any drugs were consumed. But Idk if Naija really has the capacity for a proper autopsy and investigation

Please, please, please, this is false information please disregard! I am a close friend, the hard drug they are talking about is weed. Gbemiga did not use hard drugs. This was CO poisoning clearly!!!! They were found in an enclosed garage with the car running. Please let us respect the dead and wait for the family is release the autopsy report/result.

Abeg jo, just because you know someone doesn’t mean you know what the person does 24/7. You might not have seen him do hard drugs in front of you doesn’t mean he didn’t take it. That’s how Naijas will say I know this man very well, haven’t seen him with another woman. Does that refute him committing adultery? No. Let’s talk openly about what is going on with Nigerian youths, that’s the only way to address the issues.

I agree Jade. What were they doing in the car? It is obvious but we like to deny shit in Naija.

Why is the Nigerian media so fucking reckless ???? Let’s start with the fact that DJ Olu was not 25! Like the basic info you guys can’t even get correct! Even without an autopsy being done, any normal human being with an iota of sense would reason that it is highly improbable that 2 individuals die of drug overdose in the same exact place at the same time!! You guys know well and good that this is BS so why would you post it ?? How wicked and reckless must you be to be tarnishing the images of these young men not even up to 3 full days after their passing ??? How do you think their families feel? Ive been seeing other low down- no viewers- desperate for clicks ass “blogs” posting this but for you, a whole Bella Naija to carry this story? This is callous and wicked ! I hope the family takes legal action against all of you because this is truly sick.

If it was CO poisoning, why were two people sitting in a running car for so long? And the blood that was coming out of their mouths and noses? Sounds like they got a batch of drugs that was cut with some poisonous stuff, not an overdose per se.

Regardless of what killed them, they are already dead. I hope they knew God so they can find favor with him and RIP. The opinion of man is irrelevant. It is appointed unto man to die once and after death, judgement.

Actually, it is more than likely that this was both a drug overdose and CO poisoning- not because of the excess consumption of the drug, but more rather the purity. If they received a batch of a “purer” strain of hard drugs, then it could have rendered them unconscious, leading to the CO poisoning by remaining in the car. Very sad situation, may God be with both families of the victims.

It’s not that hard an idea to entertain that 2 people in the same place and around the same time died of an overdose. I’m not saying that’s what happened here, but adamantly refuting in on just that “2 people in the same place” isn’t a strong argument.

I really do hope a proper autopsy is done.

Bella Naija this is low, especially because out of all the stupid blogs, we actually thought you knew better. you read this stupid report and it makes sense that you copied and pasted it on your website……I hope they sue you too.

They were found in a closed garage. If the car was on at the time they were found then the cause of death is CO poisoning. They could have overdosed too. The million dollar question here is was the car on when their bodies were discovered

Suggestion for your failing weak blog bellanaija who loves nothing but red carpet, fashion and showcasing fake lives, drug problem is a huge problem, so I was hoping one day you will be a lil selfless and post a topic on drugs which is something many youth are struggling with and maybe a rehab expert who can advice.

Surprise us sometimes bella instead of your weak ass same ole content of copy cut paste taking from all over including people’s Instagram pages. You catch my drift. Hope you understand. Just surprise us

But why make a report if they haven’t carried out all the tests. It’s irresponsible. Test the substances so we can know for sure what they are.
