Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose has criticized the Kaduna State Government’s plan to sack over 21,000 teachers.

The teachers had failed a primary 4 level competency test, which had led the state government’s planned termination of their jobs.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in a speech supported the Kaduna State Government’s move, lamenting the failure of the teachers.

Fayose, on his Twitter, had asked that rather than let go of the teachers, the Kaduna State Government should visit Ekiti State to learn what it is they’ve done to improve 26% performance in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination in 2014 to 74.86 percent in 2017.

It is not the state government’s right to set a test for teachers, he said, but that of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN).
