Exellent choices. Who needs research when white people can do all the research and we can just copy from them even if it is not generalizable to us? We need expensive jeeps to convey the bosses to and from work. They also need their personal and work homes refurbished with the finest furniture from Dubai. It is their lot in life as civil servants.

My dear, lack of foresight and sound mind is a sad thing to lose in our country. Imagine instead of the majority of the money going into proper verifiable research to help develop Naija for the better, these civil servants want to live the life of big men like their political counterparts. May God help our generation and parents generation and engulf them with wisdom because truly that is one thing we greatly need in nigeria.

Honestly, something is really, REALLY wrong with us. 8 million naira for research and development? Jeez! Some weddings on Bella cost more than that. It is really paining me I’m being ruled by fools. How did these people get into these jobs? Did they do juju on us? Is it hard to find sensible Nigerians to head positions?

    Just negodu!
This is the typical story of Africa. “The fruit don’t fall far from the tree”….African adage. Our story of backwardness is self inflicted.
A white professor in England or Germany …would not mind riding on a bicycle to school., but a third world half baked lecturer prefers automobile to research.

Bye West and Central Africa. East and North Africa are doing better.

I read the headline 3 or 4 times, certain that BN had made some kind of mistake in placing the figures.

To click open the story and find that it’s no mistake is very depressing.

Are we serious in this country? Will we ever get serious?

Who s the retard that coined the motto of our National University Commission? We need to replace this stupid motto with something better. Eight million Naira is a pitiful amount compared to how much President Mohamodu Buhari alone spent on (his own health ) himself this year. How do we go about sharing this meager sum of money between all the Federal Universities in Nigeria. This is an insult to the Nigerian education system. Nigeria government must do better to encourage our Universities to conduct researches which will benefit Nigeria and Africa at large by allocating substantial sums of money for research. A word is enough for the wise. I’m just saying.

Dumb ass University Commission (NUC), in this day and age when societies are advancing with new innovations to improve their economy. No wonder they are still using outdated materials to lecture students in the useless universities.
Why do we have retards in leadership positions in this god forsaken country called Nigeria?
How can you budget so low on research and that much on stupid cars that are liabilities?

Nigeria usually prioritizes on frivolities and they will be thinking why are we lagging behind in everything? 8 M for research and the research paper will eventually end up with Iya Basira wey dey sell Dundun and Akara. When the water don pass gaari, na to just dey laugh….lol
