Selena Gomez dedicates Billboard “Woman of the Year” Award to Friend who Saved her Life

Yesterday marked a very special night for singer Selena Gomez as she received 2017 Woman of the Year Award at the Billboard Women in Music Dinner and Awards Gala.

Selena posed for photos and walked the red carpet with her close friend Francia Raisa who donated her kidney to her.

During her acceptance speech, the singer cried as she paid tribute to Francia, saying “To be honest, I think Francia should be getting this award because she saved my life,”.

Speaking to Billboard about how she was feeling after receiving a kidney transplant, she said “I’m good. Honestly, that whole experience made me look at life a little differently. I’m grateful for that, It feels good to be able to share my story the way I want to. I’m good, I’m really good.”
