Donald Duke, the former Governor of Cross River State, has officially declared his intention to run for president of Nigeria in 2019.

According to Channels TV, Duke made the declaration at the annual Law dinner of the University of Nigeria on Friday.

Duke, while addressing the topic “Nigeria In Clear and Present Danger,” revealed that he’s not sure yet under what party he’d be running, but he’s convinced it’s time to deal with Nigeria’s challenges.

The former governor, currently a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) member, was one of those who attended the launch of the Coalition For Nigeria Movement.

He himself knows he has nothing to offer and only seeks his selfish interests. He is just riding on the gullibility of Nigerians who seem never to learn.

We are gradually getting there, credible and capable opposition coming into the arena, though I heard something that was not so right written about you DD in NOI’s book, all the same that can be forgiven! But we won’t accept you as running mate to Atiku! You must be the Flagbearer of the party!

No. pls don’t say or think this ever again. we must articulate our needs as a people and find who will offer us the best chance at meeting those needs. Amreekans did anything can do- See result. Nigerians did the same- see result. Nah. We must be deliberate.
