Dolce and Gabbana collections have become so trashy. Nigerian men love these loud, over-embellished designs. Some new money insta famous yahoo boy is going to be rocking those gaudy af shoes soon.

Thank you, thank you, thank you and Wizkid is the embodiment of that trashy style.

Nigerians and the way they worship anything foreign . If it were lanredasilva collections no one would hype him. Let’s support our own and stop hyping foreign stuff. It just a name .

It’s not about the outfit or designer, it’s the fact our creatives are being given an international stage. Doesn’t matter where it is or whom it’s by, so long as it’s international, it speaks better for us than our scamming going global no?

Maybe it’s not because it’s foreign but it’s because it’s a global/international brand. Maybe just maybe?

      That’s not true though.

@Nkechi, thanks for setting us straight in a foreign language using the medium of the internet invented by foreigners, perhaps via your foreign cell phone in your foreign car.

My sistah, it is not one or the other. Wiz Ayo can rock D&G as well as the Native he rocked on his Ayo album cover. Both are not mutually-exclusive. Ideally, we should take/borrow from the best and marry same to our culture. That should be be the inspiration and aspiration of our own designers – who should not only be marketing to Nigerians but to the entire world!

Not necessarily. Let’s face it, even Lanre DaSilva knows D&G is big! These foreign designers have been doing it for years so they are ahead of us, and this type of runway/ modeling is their thing but we beginning to embrace it too. Don’t worry though, our time is coming! Remember years when we only played foreign music in clubs and at parties? Now, Naija music reigns….your point is very valid though

No surprises here. Wiz has always had the star factor that a lot of other Nigerian artistes lack. He has a presence and he is more marketable/presentable with a crossover appeal . The sky is his limit. He actually has talent if only he had a bad ass manager to take him to new lengths otherwise the mediocrity within Nigerian media and entertainment arena can make people lose the zeal to maximize their potential.
