Osun Election: INEC bans Video Recording at Polling Booths

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has banned video recording at polling booths in the coming Osun State gubernatorial election.

INEC chairman Mahmood Yakubu revealed this on Monday in Osogbo at a stakeholders’ forum, Punch reports.

Yakubu said the ban is targeted at stopping vote buying and selling which was a common occurrence at the Ekiti election.

Voters will be able to use their phones and cameras at polling units, he said, but will not be allowed to use them once they are issued ballot papers until the votes have been cast in ballot boxes.
