‘Abuja!!! You showed out!!!” – was top Afrofusion artist, Burna Boy’s Instagram caption shortly after his unforgettable performance on Saturday, November 17th at the Festival of Lights, Harrow park.

The first ever Festival of Lights was definitely one to remember with beautiful people, food, light art, and brilliant performances. The energy of the attendees was upbeat and literally filled with light for the entire evening.

Sabigroove events and iBlend services curated the best show ever in Abuja, pulling undisputedly the largest crowd in the city. Guests enjoyed the scenery of beautifully coloured lights all over Harrow Park. There were light installations for famous selfies and more including a 40ft Welcome to Festival of Lights sign, decorated trees and a light tunnel to delve into the Festival. Private cabanas were all draped in coloured lights to create a personal festival experience.

Fire breathers, circus performers and drummers kept people entertained. Neon face painting, body art, LED and glow-in-the-dark accessories certainly got festival goers in the right mood. We can’t stop singing YE and DJ Spaxx and DJ Nani made sure that was the case. The MC for the night, MTV’s Ehiz lit up the crowd.

When the ‘Gbedu entered body’, no one could stop screaming; Burna Boy got on stage and the crowd was electric! He went through all his essentials from Soke to Heaven’s gates and of course, the crowd wouldn’t let him leave the stage without his hit song YE! Teni (The Entertainer), also got us grooving when she came on to the stage with her hit single Askamaya. Style-Plus lit the stage with all their nostalgic hits and classics.

Some of Abuja’s very own artists shone through as well. Tempo kept everyone in suspense with his stellar performance as he flipped off the stage speakers, while Sowa and Brumeh got all the girls (and guys) singing about KitKat’s. It was an all-around exhilarating experience.

Festival of Lights would not have been possible but for all the people, volunteers, vendors, and organizations that contributed to the success of the festival. Including DOXA, The Capital Movement, FIRS, Tour Nigeria, Jägermeister, Genesis Cinemas and more.

A special congratulations to Sabigroove and iBlend for such an incredibly lit event. We anticipate for what is next!
