Donald Duke’s party SDP adopts Buhari as Presidential Candidate
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has rejected Donald Duke and instead adopted President Muhammadu Buhari as its consensus candidate.
The Cable reports that this decision was made at the party’s national executive council meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
Donald Duke had been declared as the party’s candidate by the court of appeal after a case with Jerry Gana, a move that the party has seemingly rejected.
Oby Ezekwesili‘s party Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), had also endorsed Buhari following Ezekwesili’s withdrawal from the presidential race.
