…Sounds like every other reality show on VH1! lol!. I feel kinda sad for the winner though….some of the things that come with that kinda fame is not always very good….”Kokolette” for a year…what does that entail, really????
I trust D’banj will have fun with this!

    • Yinka Abraham April 17, 2009 at 8:14 PM

shit!!! i may be in canada! how can i watch it here? :( :( : ( but damn….dbanj’s on a diff level

    • ladi April 17, 2009 at 9:24 PM

He officially has no class. And I pity the kokollete winner especially in our Nigerian society. I doubt any classy educated, intellecttually ’rounded’ chic will enter that competition. Like RayJ and Flav show its always fame hungry ‘ghetto’ chics who want TV airtime.

Kokolette for one year???? Insult upon injury…lol! Tufia!

Ofcourse he will make money sha.

    • ladi April 17, 2009 at 9:26 PM

Companion??? Sorry, this is disturbing my feminist state of mind.

    • Elpee April 17, 2009 at 9:49 PM

Tell me about it? Kokolette for a year? so after that year he’ll do a new one and it’ll be a new chick in the bed? Pls dat N5 million should be used to build charity for all those suffering kids in Naija. Oh do sth to better naija not some money grubbing chick who’s not interested in working for it…

Bella sha pls help us get videos for us in Canada who don’t have the luxury of HiTV. I want to see this thing. I don’t like how Naija is becoming too Westernized. Pls lets retain our values and culture. The Oyinbo do and r imposin it on us… lets impose ours on them.

    • aproko!!! April 17, 2009 at 9:59 PM

den come bac to ur country instead of preaching from another man’s land. hunnnn…u talk from one side of ur mouth and ur doin the opposite …na wa oh…nigerian can only before again if we put our hands to the toil and not run away…

    • jeune fille April 17, 2009 at 10:06 PM

    • KELLY April 17, 2009 at 11:32 PM

    • kpolongo April 17, 2009 at 11:46 PM

smart idea my ass!!its is a shallow and demeaning concept!!!
anyway they are not twisting any girls arm to appear in the show…so goodluck to the ghetto ass gals that will be there!

    • Funmie April 18, 2009 at 12:32 AM

D’ang is looking for a bed mate a.k.a sleeping partner for keeps for one full yr… as in 365 days.
oh mine, u have got to be kidding me!
what happens to the chikito after the yr now?

    • baby April 18, 2009 at 1:14 AM

he doesnt need a bed mate!!! he already gets dem anyhow

    • Olivia April 18, 2009 at 2:12 AM

I wish they’d dump all these westernized nonsense and go back to our roots. How about a show with a witty, wise, woman who match makes young couples based on commonalities of good old values such as chemistry, respect, belief system, hard work, nurturing spirit…….
Anyways, good luck to the ‘kokolets’…hmmmn disturbing on so many levels.

    • Ladi April 18, 2009 at 3:15 AM

      lol@ Aproko.

The show is there because there is a demand. From a business standpoint, it will be a money maker and then charity can be done afterwards.

You are complaining but you want to watch the show, see the exact reason why there is a demand.

Talking about being westernized, will you relocate to Nigeria to promote our culture? or make Oyibos go to 9ja they way you left?

    • Ladi April 18, 2009 at 3:17 AM

Join the likes of Deelishis and New York on Flav to humiliate and ‘de-class’ yourself on TV, then the ring is yours. Sorry, I’m being harsh

    • 4me April 18, 2009 at 7:34 AM

big up d’banj, let see how it goes, about westernernzed, most things we used and pratice in naija or africa originated frm oyibo’s.pls try and do it perfectly nd dont disrect ur ladies.

    • yves la rock** April 18, 2009 at 8:04 AM

      OMG i actually cannot wait!!!

    • pam April 18, 2009 at 1:19 PM

Like most of the shows that are copied in Nigeria, the supporting environment for these participants to exploit is very thin. No spin offs like “I love New York” likely, or lingerie lines or half naked magazine covers for King and thier likes.
After fighting over Dbanj and undergoing “grooming” on TV… where will the fame take them? Its all about Dbanj reinforcing his rep as a player who can keep 12 girls jumping through hoops in public to have him on his terms. For a year.

Any girl that sees this as a platform needs either forget it or get a PR team of her own to ensure she manipulates how she is viewed… at least as much as she can before it ends up on the editing bin.

The arm candy hanging on his arm for a year will probably have the roughest time with all kinds of illiterate media hawks picking her every move to shreds… and calling her an ashewo.

Good luck to them all. It should be a hit.

    • waffarian April 18, 2009 at 3:41 PM

chei! this thing will be funny ohhhhh heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee meanwhile, the prize sucks…why anybody go wan be kokolette for one “FULL” year? dat one na punishment na…dey follow am dey waka like craise person….dat one na full time job oh….abi na free PA im dey find?

    • Elpee April 18, 2009 at 4:38 PM

I live here cuz im with my parents but dat doesn’t mean i take on their values as some people do when they come here. I give it to them as I would if i were in naija. I brought my country to them and wat i see happening in naija scares me cuz when i return i want it to be the naija with all the naija quanta not naija with western quanta… some of the change is good sure but not all shuld b changed like this.

Aproko if u wan buy m ticket i go come back naija come sleep cuz omo life here no sweet like naija…i miss everything

I want to see it cuz im sure its going to b hilarious nd i want to see the kind of girls that go on this.

    • reeeemo April 18, 2009 at 9:13 PM

Truth B, before you all holla urselves silly, the show is not another flava of love, but about a young man, who is an entertainer and popular as the key driver (metaphor), for the Nigerian male, and his search for a perfect partner, or a woman that has the values that we respect in Africa (bold, Assertive, Beautiful, entertaining, intelligent etc), and putting these 12 young women to test in a house, encouraging a national interactive on discourse on TV, about what the values and challenges of a young woman in NIgeria today are, and how do we judge the qualities of a good woman. D’Banj is not gonna marry her, neither is he gonna have anything to do with her after the show, apart from her appearing as HI babe(Hi TV representative) at events, occasions and other important and charitable occasions. D’Banj is the metaphor for that search. Its not a tarty show, no nakedness (so if ur looking for that forget it). Its gonna be decent, wholesome, entertaining fun, with humor, drama, yes, some controversy, plenty of music and plenty of talking points. So people….pls get it right

    • oops April 19, 2009 at 2:54 AM

Of course it can’t happen in Ghana; you don’t have ANY star as big as D’banj. In fact do you have musicians? Hiss! No wonder MTV and Chanel O are basically Nigerian channels.

    • Sugabelly April 19, 2009 at 8:20 AM

yawn. won’t sell if there’s no nakedness. we might as well be watching NTA Kiddies Christmas party. What, are they going to tell the women to cook and make beds to see who does it best???

Sex is an African virtue so stop kidding yourself. Dbanj is all about sex. What do you think No Long Thing is about? Listen closely to the lyrics of his songs.

Please, Dbanj knows what he’s looking for so stop deceiving yourself and attempting to deceive us.

    • Bea Pearl April 19, 2009 at 9:11 AM

    • wale oloro-gbogbo bigz boys April 20, 2009 at 3:51 AM

yea..u’re very correct..its so gibberish..If the lady was to look after his Koko Foundation as its ambassador and do charity4d whole year,it would have been better..Would he say he wont sleep with her since they’ll be travelling worldwide if need be..It doesnt make sense..Or if he was to be married, would his wife all him to travell all around with a so-called Kokolet, why not he get married and make his wife d kokolet and pay her like that..Like one commenter said,so every year,he’ll change the ring on each of dem…2much money is worrying him..i hope he wouldnt meet his downfall with this o..

“The Kokolette who emerges as the winner will win:

    • Beauty April 20, 2009 at 1:53 PM

If d’banj has that much, why doesn’t he help the poor in Naija. He should rather do a Reality TV show that aims at helping the poor of his country. That i think will bring him much blessings 4m God n his fans than ever.

    • Pepe April 20, 2009 at 3:37 PM

Ok people stop hating. I didnt see anyone saying Big brother was a waste and that the money should be given to charity. How do u know they are not already donating to charity???? It’s entertainment, if u dont like it dont watch it.

    • PoisonIVY April 20, 2009 at 3:46 PM

GLORIFIED PROSTITUTION is what this is…
i can bet on the life of my favorite pooch(sorry bang-bang) that NO girl from a solid background will be found in this hoodratism.
And by solid,i don’t mean Mr.Money bags daughter etc..
      i mean well grounded girls.
Something tells me a good part of the Newyorks and Deelishis’ in training we will find on there are Miss Nigeria rejects,MBGN rejects, failed models, etc….misguided girls who look in the mirror everyday and all they THINK they have going for them is that by which they will assault our senses with on T.V

Our country is in dire need of so much, how about using that money to facilitate something productive for the girl-child since the show is initially been set as a platform to,in my humble opinion glorify nonsense, while “whoring” the most suitable girl to WHO again?DBANJ?
all under the cloak of “reality t.v”

Please let them pull the other one, this is disturbing on so many levels.
The day we stop copying everything from the west that suits the west and start coming up with ideas that will work for us and take us to that level where others will want to copy us would be a glorious day for our nation as a whole.

Let us take the “superstar” name away from this and call it what it is.

    • the realist April 20, 2009 at 7:48 PM

this is certainly going to be entertaining cant wait to watch…….

    • Bolanle Olusanya April 20, 2009 at 8:21 PM

I think this program should be boycotted! It will not contribute in any meaningful way to the moral upliftment of the youth. D’banj has the reputation of explicit language in his music. I think all parents should boycot Hitv……

    • Davy Jones April 20, 2009 at 8:58 PM

Am reading this comment and wondering what the world will be without “entertainment”.

Sheesh! Thank God for Open Minds. Anticipating the premiere of this show. For all you know, it may just have a lot of values and still be entertaining.

      Bigs ups!

    • Dee April 20, 2009 at 11:39 PM

This will definitely be entertaining….can’t wait!!

    • afroblack April 21, 2009 at 12:17 AM

please sharrap der…everybody has the freedom to do what they want to do so please dont judge anybody. If they choose to ‘whore’ as u put it, then let them whore. You either take it or leave it.

    • Doodle April 21, 2009 at 12:53 AM

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How come we cant veiw this in yankee?????????
      Its not fair….

    • PoisonIVY April 21, 2009 at 1:16 AM

Another drop out from the Deelishis school of f*ckery…hurry on up darling and go join the queue of intending participants…
      Don’t we know your type.

there is a thin line between judging and speaking the truth..but as they say,the truth is bitter BUT i wouldn’t expect someone who has no problem with “young women being groomed and tested in various Diva tasks and activities in order to determine the one with the greatest Koko Virtues”-to be able to decipher what is and what isn’t…and then they want to ask what is happening to our girls??

I guess this grooming procedure will include intellectually stimulating tasks…of course YOU read DIVA ACTS as INTELLECTUAL ACTIVITIES or something of a positive nature.

      Koko virtues=??
The unfortunate girl able to satisfy his Royal Kokoness?
      pray do tell??

Don’t make me laugh,,,if it what?
oh yeah…. walks like a duck
      quacks like a duck
      farts like a bleeding duck…..
      its a flipping DUCK..

How we have become a society where we feel so comfortable with nonsense is beyond me.
God help our children…….but hey ho what do i know…at an age where we can click on Youtube and see underage girls popping their under-developed booties to Beyonce and everyone gathers and coos and says its cute, they are just having fun etc…
then we wonder years down the line why that girl thinks her booty and her make-up bag and the ability to “work it” and look fierce is ALL she has going for her..all the while not picking up the NUMBER ONE LESSON..HER OWN SELF WORTH..and if all else fails…snag an irresponsible glorified ghetto soldier and the cycle continues…
      Someone save us from ourselves….

      But each to their own.

    • oops April 21, 2009 at 3:23 AM

demselfs?????? You’re a joker! I know you’re not trying to talk about copying, ALL your so called gollywood actors have to act in Nollywood films to make headway. My friend when giants are talking, keep quiet.

    • Ogo April 21, 2009 at 10:02 AM

Poison Ivy…I admire u…Go on mehnnn!!!!

    • A9 April 21, 2009 at 10:44 AM

      splendid opinion.

I was once told of a Dbanj Interview where the host saw a pretty lass in walk around the interview setat Dbanj’s KOKOcrib and the host asked “hey who is dat pretty kokolet?” and Dbanj turned grim and upset with the reply…” she is my sister and not a KOKOLET”! Well…if our sisters are okay to be called kokolets, why can’t Dbanj’s sister? I mean…the word “Koko”has always had a LEWD meaning. Now they wanna rebrand it the glittering foilof DIVArism? sheesh! Hey, watever man…alli know are 3 things! HiTV decoders are gonna go over the roof, loads of shrimp minded ladies are gonna become KOKOlaid and we all gonna watch for only one reason…we all dumb as F%*&%k!!!

As for Dbanj and Don Jazzy…your both a bunch of Marketing Genius man! Respect!

      that sucks!

I’m in marketing communications, Advertising to be precise and i admire the monster buzz all of this is enerating…i mean, i’m contributing. Its entertaining, cool…all i’m saying is…could itbe a lill moraly uplifting too. Come on…female dignity for SHE sakes!

Another master piece albeit copycat marketing strategy from my almighty Kokomaster and Don Baba J. Abeg CARRY GO. This is brilliant as it is trashy. Building up on what has become a cult following. To all of you saying this and that about the potential kokolettes…should razz and ghetto girls from places like mushin, akowanjo, bariga, igbosere, aj city and even aiyetoro, not to mention the hookers on sanusi fafunwa who want to be reformed not have AMBITION too. Should they not aspire to be famous TV personalities despite their grasp of grammatical syntax. Or is that now an exclusive preserve of the rich, educated and ‘morally sound’ of the Banana and Victoria Islands of this world. Please free matta. Bring your noses down to normal level before you restrict the flow of oxygen to your brains….get off your high horses before you fall and break your neck and end up six feet under. You are not supposed to substitute sunday school and the four walls of university with the television. You want morals pick up a bible, you want education pick up the encyclopedia and leave the television and tv people to do the entertaining. If I was not a graduate, gainfully employed and was hungry for some kind of big break trust me I would be on the show pulling all my New York type stunts, trying to get attention or some movie director or marketer, advertising agency, branding manager etc. In fact I will be singing my heart out so that Don Baba J will sign me up to MoHits and I can be legit. At the end of the day it is all acting and playing the game to claim that 15 minutes of fame. Don’t be an enemy of progress. If you don’t like it change the channel to Hi-Nolly or African Magic, that is why it is CABLE. But I know WE shall all be watching because it’s all about entertainment….FILE!!! DON’T TOUCH IT!!

    • Gbo Gbo Bigz Girls April 24, 2009 at 8:16 AM

” Should they not aspire to be famous TV personalities despite their inability to grasp basic grammatical syntax.”

    • wale oloro-gbogbo bigz boys April 24, 2009 at 9:14 AM

gbogbo bigs girls..hope u know every place gat its own ghetto..u shldnt call mushin and d likes razz and ghetto..they’re razz places in VI,Ikoyi and even Osapa london(if u knw where diz is)..i’m a mushin boy, proud to be 1..but i aint razz..

    • yeparipa April 24, 2009 at 11:43 AM

@ gbogbo bigz girls….nope, we r not saying this for the rich..by ghetto n razz we mean trashy and classless not rich or poor, privileged or underprivileged….you are right tho if anyone want morals pick up a bible or what have you and dont watch d damn show…..
but i still thank God you(gbogbo bigs gel) has a career so we wont have to see your ghetto NY ass on the show…

the show is a stupid idea, unnecessary copying of American reality shows…most girls that end up on reality shows like this cant even get a decent tv/video career after, cos most producers think they are trashy..oh they can actually get casted as video hos….Stupid idea..disapointed in Toyin subair for picking up on this low and demeaning concept

    • tomi April 24, 2009 at 12:05 PM

Great comment. Keep keeping it real.

    • marian April 26, 2009 at 6:00 PM

abeg jo, leave that thing… most of y’all here with your negative comments wish you could enter the koko mansion…if not for fear of what your pastor/imam/parents/society would say. I’m tired of Nigerians standing on some fake pedestal that 9ja mentality has created and tearing down ppl who are bold enough to go for what they want even if unconventionally. DON’T HATE!! You know you’ll still tune in unfailingly just to comment on how trashy and depraved you think the girls are, lol.

    • damilola adebayo April 27, 2009 at 5:09 PM

this is crazy. its demeaning to women EVERYWHERE. must nigeria copy every bad show idea from the west? when it was done in the US and UK people protested…so why should naija follow suit. so disgusted

    • Chris April 29, 2009 at 10:20 PM

well at least he’s not flavor flav!

    • afrohotice April 29, 2009 at 10:39 PM

    • Kpakpando Nwanyi April 30, 2009 at 1:42 AM

Why do I still have a thing for this tout bikonu? I pray God delivers me, and soon.

While I wish Nigerian TV did have more original & indigenous content, I’m not going to criticize DBanj or his management team for the show, they’re doing their job (i.e. make money) so whether or not I agree with the format, I do appreciate their hustle.

    • Ruki May 6, 2009 at 5:11 PM

I think you people are just being cynical, and repeating the same points over and over again. Did you even read about it before criticising?? It says: A Kokolette is a “Fully endowed woman with intellectual property” likened to the high achieving Nigerian women of today…. the show is not lookin for sluts.. but for intelligent women worthy of respect.
I think it is a very good idea, and I’m looking forward to seeing it on TV.

P.S: for those of you not interested, Africa magic is always available on DSTV…

    • wale oloro gbogbo bigs boys May 6, 2009 at 5:31 PM

waddup ruki..i think its u datz getting it wrong and dint read well..while quoting, u left out some other stuffz which i’ll highlight below..d same way people take things in d holy books and leave out the rest which re also important:: read below

      • Most importantly, the winner will be D’Banjs Kokolette for one full year and will be his companion at public events both within and outside Nigeria.

So what do you say about this?? she’ll be his escort and companion..they’ll travel and stay2geda everywhere outside 9ja?? so what are you saying..does diz make any sense..if she’z suppose to MAN his KOKO foundation, dat’ll be better..diz is pointless and baseless..but @ least they’re doing sumtin sha..

    • Ruki May 6, 2009 at 5:54 PM

The same way people read things in d holy books and twist them, in what you just quoted, please note the ‘PUBLIC’, and understand the meaning of the word ‘Kokolette’.
The ‘public’ part means that the winner would have to be his companion at places where there would be a lot of other people.. i.e; shows/ concerts.
D’banj is not looking for a wife or girl friend or sum1 to take advantage of, because with the whole concept, it is only a girl with low self worth/esteem that would allow herself to be taken advantage of.
The show is nothing like flavour flav, because flavour flav is looking for love, which is not what D’banj is doin.
The concept of the show just needs to be understood.

    • PoisonIVY May 6, 2009 at 6:33 PM

i CANNOT belive people are STILL this naive.
AS IF it would be printed in bold that the “lady” would also be his chief bed-warmer.
Nonsense…if you have been privy to a lot of things that go on behind the scenes amongst this so called stars et al..then you will understand why I,as i speak for myself,is extra wary as to what this sets out to achieve.
They can spruce it up and paint it in all light and fluffy colors and sit it on a bed of candy floss for all i care…it’s still bullsh*t.
It’s not flavor of love—yet on WHAT existing model exactly was this concept borne out of?sesame street?tom and jerry?spongebob square pants??

“Fully endowed woman with intellectual property”–
      Fully endowed in what way?
      a fully endowed leg?arm?teeth?
when a woman is described as “fully endowed” please can someone tell me what it means EXACTLY?
or there is a new nigerian meaning for it..

and as for the intellectual property attached to it…what ELSE could they have added to make it seem less of what it is??

      anyhoooooooooo…as i have always said..each to their own…

    • wale oloro gbogbo big boys May 7, 2009 at 4:38 AM

To let you know as i know you already know, Dbanj witout money can get any chick he wants but what is the viability of this show witout the other razzmattaz..like i said again, she’ll be his companion every where he goes4what?? jasi mehn

    • dd May 7, 2009 at 8:45 PM

at list unemployed girls now have a job both graduates and non.nigerian can never be like america bcos its foundation was not laid wih truth.as d bang how much he signed d contract he wont say bcos he doesnt want any one to know how much he is making

    • uyaii May 10, 2009 at 1:59 AM

no offence, but its very obvious ur lil exposed and have a one directional way of thinking.
since ure so morally uptight, what are you doing on a blog on koko mansion in the first place? besides, even if something sexual hapens btw the winner and d’banj, would it be out of place or would she be forced?
i like ur energy, but it would be better if you channeled it to productive areas and leave entertainers to entertain.
      dapo, rep nigeria!

    • Shinex May 10, 2009 at 4:13 PM

The show is more like a flavor flav show… well it’s a welcome development here in Nigeria…..D’banj more grace to your hard working elbow!!! I looking forward to seeing the show

    • Nana May 10, 2009 at 6:01 PM

Koko master nothing do you, nice idea good concept, you guys sure have it going for you.

    • Remi Balogun May 16, 2009 at 2:25 AM

Anytin D’banj does is perfect,i support the show.If me sef get money i go like do sometin like FLAVOR FLAV’S ”flavor of Love”.D’banj i gbadun u.omo eco.

    • sleepy willow May 16, 2009 at 7:45 PM

I can’t believe I’m seeing this! This is a Nigerian version of U.S.’s Rock of Love, Tila Tequila or Flavor Flav! What is my country coming to?! Yeah, some people on here are saying he’s making money, but why not do something positive. It’s not that hard to do good. I am sure India did not get to where they were today by doing shows like this. If we ever want to see Nigeria rise up as an international power, we need to stop obsessing over celebrity status and material possessions of the west. We need to be focusing on how we can fight corruption, further education and reduce the brain drain, health care, including decreasing maternal and infant mortality etc. It has deeply upset me that many of Nigeria’s musical talents are indeed talentless. Dban’j produces music that is no different than the crappy misogynous rap/pop music that is produced in the U.S. Which brings me to another point. This show degrades women and will probably be filled with scantily clad women in tight clothing who will fight (physically and verbally) for Dban’j, while he sits in a corner enjoying the attention. How can we? Nigerian women are some of the smartest and brightest in the world. How can we stoop so low? ‘Full endowed women with intellectual property?’ What, he’s now a lawyer? LMAO! That translates to “You better have good looks, big boobies and a bubble butt and be educated and ‘ambitious.’ Yeah, because girls who have high ambition will audition for that show in the first place right? As far as the kokolette for a year crap, that means the winner will be Dban’j's sex toy for a year then be tossed amongst the rubbish. It’s sad that some commenters can’t see this. At the end of the day its not about money or fame, but your self worth and dignity. This show is going to be one big orgy, just like its counterparts that were listed at the beginning of my comment. Shame Nigeria, Shame! – Now, excuse me while I go in a corner and weep for my country.

    • Wande P May 17, 2009 at 6:32 PM

      Cant wait 2 c d kokolets we’ve got in naija.D’banj i de feel u gan.Don Jazzy u’re too much.D’banj kan,Don Jazzy kan,koko mansion kan.

    • bukky May 20, 2009 at 11:35 PM

I love ur comment.Nigeria youths have misplaced priority, sometimes i just can’t figure out what the future will look like with my generation.Anyway,if you want them to read your articles, keep it short and precise.Remember, only few Nigerian still have the reading culture.what we have is entertainment culture, and that is what d’bang is selling.

    • Bimz May 21, 2009 at 8:38 PM

Has anyone been to the website? this kokolette is supposed to be like a stepford wife for crying out loud! I’m sure I don’t need to copy the details on ere. It’s like she’s supposed to be his house help, escort, and all! Is that truly the way an African woman should be?

    • lala May 21, 2009 at 10:08 PM

Cant wait…….so luking forward to the entertainment

    • DEOLAR May 22, 2009 at 1:06 AM

….may i ask what you have ever donr for your country? you better go to the corner as you have said an weep for yourself cos you can never achive anything from your points……..CRY AND NEVER STOP!!!!!

    • sleepy willow May 22, 2009 at 5:07 PM

I have not done much yet, as I am still young and in school, but once I leave school I plan on working with Nigerian women and children dealing with human rights- specifically human trafficking, which I am very passionate about. I will not cry for myself because I know I will make a change. Your attitude is why many people dislike Nigerians. Please never tell anyone to cry and never stop its too juvenile. Lets have an educated discussion.

    • PoisonIVY May 23, 2009 at 9:39 PM

      OH REALLY?
I am not exposed in your “oh so over-exposed” universe BECAUSE??

I REFUSE to follow the bandwagon?
i CALL this out for what it is?

      dear child,
i don’t need to lecture you on what true exposure and culture is.
As i can see that within your limited intelligence it’s defined by things like KOKO MANSION.And trying to get you to see reason and come to the light…well THAT TRAIN LEFT THE STATION FOR YOU A LONG TIME AGO OBVIOUSLY…

so ummm yeah..i choose to stay backwards and in my cave….

and while we at it,the best i can tell you today is to go and learn the TRUE meaning of exposure…
in the REAL world it’s not defined by flavor of love wanna be concepts.

    • Naija May 26, 2009 at 12:55 AM

i’m so much disappointed in all those in favour of this down low degrading show…it’ll only serve to ridicule Nigerians at a time when we are about to take the lead for entertainment from other african countries. Why should the price include the last clause of being a “public escort” to d’banj? i really like d’banj but i think that last clause should be removed from the price.

    • Sam dickson May 26, 2009 at 5:46 AM

The show is really great, its what we nigerians are looking forward to. Dbanj, more grace to your elbow. But what about we guys…. no partial plz, cos we guys are really jealous.
      wande 4rm ibadan.

    • face off May 31, 2009 at 11:06 PM

Isupport sleepy willow on this one. I agree the show will make good reality TV; perhaps great entertainment for the likes of those who seem to not have much to do with their time. I say try and engage in something constructive..as for the show…Emmm i am sure it has been done before…? YES!! thats right it has. so why can’t dbanj or who ever..do something new..original..stop trying to be an american big time player who is not representing what his culture stands for. Perhaps a show for young talents out there…get them off the streets of lagos and inspire them. i guess they are all looking up to him as a role module..just like the rest of you who are not really getting the point..What a shame…

    • bola June 2, 2009 at 11:38 AM

this is bullshit am so disappointed on dbanj, a perfect example of potential with no purpose, i dont blame him i blame our media houses.

    • Mentor June 5, 2009 at 7:00 PM

D’banj, If i must be honest with you, I will say show would be a good one but at the same time, What is the essence of it? Why dont you guys come together to do a show that will promote the new artist who is there in the street with lovely talents trying to survive. Why must it be women women all the time? Is that why you made ur money so you can impress them? I think you’ve impressed them enuf and stop behaving like a gotdamn P.I.M.P, Haven’t you had enuf? My man, Think wise and mature. That’s my word for u. Enjoy ur show alone. Caio

    • RITA June 11, 2009 at 11:40 AM

    • peter amos June 24, 2009 at 1:08 PM

dbanj suppose to be a moral model to nigerian youth all over the world ,as music celebrity ,but instead is proposing to have a tv reality show that could have bad influence on nigerians youth,we as nigerians never forget our cultural background ,it would a shame to allow such a immoral tv programme show in our tv.

    • kemi June 24, 2009 at 3:27 PM

Dbanj u don dey mad, u wan turn our girls to dogs abiiiiiiiiiiiiii, na so u fine reach or na too much money. guy u dey confused even snoop get correct wife. no be show u go use find wife at least u no go see my sister for there, she no dey hungry………

    • Eka June 24, 2009 at 3:50 PM

D’banj, I like you because you are very talented, I like what you are doing, not sure what you are looking though, for but the truth is, no respectable girl would enter the competition, the offer is very tempting but the stigma that comes with it will last for a life time.

Iron sharpens Iron, my advice to you would be to get a very good advisor with a creative business mind, and come up with something that will show you up also in a positive light. Your music is great and I believe it can be done.

    • shola June 28, 2009 at 7:14 PM

Come on, its just TV. I am sure it’ll be very entertaining.

I wouldn’t say it’s meant to like the playboy mansion, but rather the bachelor – if you’ve seen it. At least there’ll be grooming of the ladies and the rest of it.

If you watch, I am sure you could all learn a thing or two. Be it manners, how to behave, how not to behave etc, because really no one knows it all.

    • seun June 29, 2009 at 9:31 PM

This is western life in nija, love dis dbanj.

    • sindy June 30, 2009 at 12:56 AM

u were just runing ur big mouth when u havent seen the show.u idiot.the bible says u shall not judge.u guys should leave the innocent man alone.this show has nothing to do with flavor-flave or whatever.u should go out there and make ur money too, then no one will control u how u should handle ur money u asshole.D´banj would have been in the house sleeping with the ladies if he really wanna be like flavor-flav.but he didnt do that.u nigarians with ur funny thought.i am a nigerian too but have been in Germany since 9 years

    • kris June 30, 2009 at 7:09 AM

the programe is interesting at least 4 a starting point in development of nigeria in all aspect,i just pray they should follow it well (arrangement) the way its surppose to be cos am into entertainment too here in europe…….dbanj more grace to ur ebow

    • Funmi June 30, 2009 at 11:20 AM

I would like to reply to Sindy’s comments. First of all, you talked about the bible saying you shall not judge. Please practice what you preach. I am a Christian and I believe that you should not cuss at people no matter what. I am sure your parents taught you better. Everyone has a right to an opinion without been judged….

I have watched the show and as far as I know Nigerian women are much better than that. Most of the girls were on live TV drinking. What is our country turning in to? What examples are been given to the younger girls out there? That is it okay to drink.

Secondly: How can you call the girls intelligent and well read if 12 girls do not know that Ontario is in Canada and not a capital in United States? However, the girls do know which designer, designed what jean. It is a shame, a big shame. What is the definition of an Ideal woman???

this is the most boring, annoying, irritating, wasting of money and peoples time show ever. pls give this girls challenges to do so that can stop sitting around like a lazy bitches. i belives if you are looking for wife u need 2 know the kind of woman u need to marry.pls can take this show off the air, if u can not challenge them.peace

    • tope June 30, 2009 at 12:32 PM

You guys need to give the girls something to do, i was actually looking forward to this show, but i was really dissapointed by what was on the air. Challenge them on how to be a wife materias. take each one of them out and see how how they behave in public, ask them questions about nigeria community, as i can see that non of them have no brain. they all look and behave like a hoe, gold digger and inrresponsible, i swear if you choose any 1 of them as a wife, they will end up finishing you. that is for sure.

    • china June 30, 2009 at 4:59 PM

    • shirley July 1, 2009 at 8:32 AM

ha gosh dis is why nigeria is still behind cos of da ignorance ppl. maybe wat u all should have done first is to find out da concept of d show before crucifying da innocent guy. d show is nuffin like flave’s or tequila wateva u call them or is dis just hating? (for da guys) or jealousy ? (for da gurls). u should all get a life instead of blabbing about someone else success. if u guys hating think its easy try and develop ur own idea and see if it will come out on da local paper less Tv show.. big idiots. and if any of u dat condeming da show already happen to watch it then, u are such a devil forsaken, hypocrites, fustrated lunatics and u should all get a life and stop beefing morons!

    • blacky July 1, 2009 at 1:17 PM

cant understand what is happening at all, almost all the girls are just faking everything pls.

    • marshall okhai July 1, 2009 at 2:06 PM

dbanj can you make this more lively, tell your girls they shouldnt forget the meaning of ideal woman, in the past weeks you going to feed them they should work for it. for all i see them doing is still right they are show case nijia woman, no true nijia woman believe on her self they all want cool, for the sake of your reputation dbanj or koko d.

    • ksaria July 1, 2009 at 5:53 PM

okay i am not trying to be disrespectful or nething but cn sum1 on ere explain the purpose of the show to me… what is going to happen if ne of the lady should win…. his he gonna marry them or what??? if that is what d’banj is lookin 4 then i am so sorry… he shuld look for a normal girl becos there is no one on the show that is truthful they are all liers and they are their for the fame so if that is wh at he wants then i am so happy for him…. also there is no point to this reality tv show and i am only saying that becos i do not know what it is all bout….

    • Rosemary July 3, 2009 at 9:45 AM

in my opinion this show is probably achieving more than it set out to achieve originally. It is highlighting the areas where our system has failed us. I listened to the girls talk about their lives at the presentation and I wept. I have seen massive improvement in the way the girls conduct themselves in just a few days. If it would take a Dbangi to save our youth from the “low” that our system has forced them to, then i must say that we all, including the goverment owe Dbangi a big Thank you!

    • candice July 3, 2009 at 9:59 AM

ok aint got nunin on d’banj buh just the girls in the Mansion Omg they should atleast make the show a bit more intresting rarther than boring becoz i like watching the show even if am just 16 and alll the way in london buh as a girl i would like to see a good role model on the T.V rather than just be there for the fam and the money. One more thing those girls just chill out and be more real rather than being fake. i know they just trying to be a nigerian but c’mmon you can do better i support Nigeria 101 percent even if i was born there i am 101 percent Nigerian ooo lol

    • candice July 3, 2009 at 10:00 AM

oh ye one more thing lots of love for D’banj his my idol love him to death

    • kelvin July 3, 2009 at 10:26 AM

d banj…… can u stop ppl coming 2 the house.u can make it look lik (Flavor Flav)even better. And the girls are not really doin nufin, just enjoyin themselfs, eating, sleepin and stupid thing around the house.give them taxes.

    • bisi July 3, 2009 at 10:45 AM

Hi peps, I am not totally sure what D’banji is trying to achieve but to be honest the so called egg heads females in the masion are totally foolish and they have no real common sense. My suggestion will be for you to dismiss all the girls and go back to the drawing board and vet all the new contestant. The girls in the show now are not showing there true colours. The show could be very good but the contestants are just rubbish. One love D’banji.

    • remi..London July 3, 2009 at 8:29 PM

.) As far as am concerned , the concept is good but i guess it should have been more like talent hunt or give the ladies more task to do in the house. dO the judges think that danicng in the house all the time is how to find the ideal woman. The gals are so fake, loud and lack sense of maturity and please someone should tell them not to speak pigdin in the house there other non Nigerian watching too. Also if they dont know what to talk about they should keep quiet and not just open thier mouth without making use of thier brains.I am so ashamed cos i never knew nigerian gals could lack morals and dignity to say they wanna participate in such useless and time wasting shows like that. Am surprised about the people that even got themselves associated with the show , am sure indoors they would be sobbing silently cos this show is crap. Mr Dbanj i used to respect you so much even though i knew u have no talent, i guess the best thing you can do to touch peoples lives is to keep donating to motherless babies home which you are doing already and very impressive and if at all you really wanna organize any show why not think about talent hunt. If at all you wanna have a show like this , with only gals in the house, its better you dont say you are looking for a wife and just let them teach the gals in the house how to knit, weave, play instruments, speak better english, fashion, make ups, tailoring etc and that would have a positive impact on thier lives not allowing them to be dancing everytime, its boring i sleep everytime am watching it. please Dbanj , i hope we dont see this type of rubbish next year

    • miriam July 3, 2009 at 10:14 PM

I think the show is okay but nothing can be learn’t from the show. I personally think that Dbanj has got it all wrong cos the essence of the show is to show who the ideal woman is which in this case is not that. Dbanj needs to give the girls interesting tasks not cardboard papers to paste pictures on..

    • Samantha July 3, 2009 at 11:27 PM

This search for the ideal woman in the Koko mansion is superficial. The tasks that are given are not intellectually challenging and cannot seriously be used to find what is termed an ideal woman. The parameters used to determine who fulfils this criteria are set by a man who himself does not display any qualities of an ideal man.The girls in the show are too young to really have the life experience that moulds a so called ideal woman.None of them are innovative, intellectually exposed or able to have a mature and worthwhile discussion of current affairs that do not involve men and sex. They cannot stand up for themselves eg the tattoo debate. As an African woman,I am extremely proud of mine and view them as body art that symbolises different aspects of my experiences.

It is a shame that D’Banj, with all his so called European exposure, is not able to find a real woman who can match him intellectually. Its a good thing he is not looking in Europe because an ideal woman only exists for an ideal man!Phile!!!!!!!!!!!

    • emmanuel July 4, 2009 at 7:34 AM

Hi, Dbanji, i am indeed seeing a program expossing the inatitude manner of our girls, many of them should learn how to become mother.
this to CHIOMA, you are too proud, learm from others.
I am watcing this program live from germany.
      Dbanji, we welcome your idea.

    • london boi July 4, 2009 at 9:40 AM

kinda like d creativity behind d show, dbanj u need 2 put ur acts 2gether, u guys ought 2 b professional, d way u spoke 2 those gurls d first time waz unbelievable, u treated dem like kids, spoke 2 dem like rubbish, who d hell do u fink u are? aint d fault of those gurls dat d show iz borin, ur management shud hav planned tasks 4 dem frm day one, u can go about tellin dem hw to dress or hw to behave… if u call dis a show u ought 2 hav pre-planned various activities 4 dem b4 dey entered d house, mehn wake up, i like u as a person but d show aint gat no meaning, put more efforts 2 liven it up.. if its done well i reckon it wud b a massive hit, all da best mate….

    • Chukwukkah Ozor July 4, 2009 at 7:13 PM

Those girls are all bunch of pretenders.

    • Ireti July 4, 2009 at 7:21 PM

Hi D’banj. Nice program and innovation. Wish I’d thought about it first(sic). Anyway, just include some intellectual tasks. Please refer to THE APPRENTICE.

    • Helen July 4, 2009 at 9:40 PM

It worries me to know that this is the calibre of women we have left in Nigeria. Women should be graceful and poise, commanding self respect. One word – watch the reality show Ladettes to Ladies and perhaps that would give you an idea. This can then be incorporated to our African culture. I’m all for African culture and I think people who try and copy western culture simply lack self confidence. There are some aspects of the western culture which are very good, and one needs to simply incorporate these good aspects into our culture and not copy everything. “What happened to the good old calabar culture of sending women into the fattening room” (modernised for today’s women). Wake up!!!! D’Banj, you should also be living in the mansion with them and going about your daily chores normally. Stop talking to the women like kids. Its a shame that they have put themselves in that position. Good luck with the show, but I think you need to cancel this one and go back to the drawing board.

    • UCHE EGEONU .MADRID.SPAIN July 4, 2009 at 11:12 PM

AS for me, D,banj should please enlighten the kokolette on their spaeking skills. At least they should know when to use present and past tense because millions of people are watching this programm world wide. Also an ideal woman should be real and not to fake her self.Beside my mother was real when she met my father.

    • sicily Jones July 4, 2009 at 11:17 PM

I enjoyed the KOKO Mansion when julius agu came and meet dos chiks, my broda try and creat activities 4 dos girls or u better use that money to produce Young Stars in 9ija.

    • dudu July 5, 2009 at 1:25 PM

D_ banje, the show is not bad but the stuffs you have there are all rubbish my dear, In the first place tell them to stop speaking broken, cos there are also people from other part of the world watching this show. and they should as well make the show a reall one. For you D-Banje does it mean that all your trips abroad, you couldnt find your ideal woman? then you are not a real man.
