The magazine market in Nigeria still has quite a few niches that are yet to be sated. Mannequin Magazine is a new editorial fashion magazine for women. The magazine aims to do things differently “with an edge” – one of style, fashion, entertainment and exposure.
With its slogan – ‘Dream It. Change It. Work It’, Mannequin believes in the empowerment and perfection of women with fashion being a major part. The magazine’s intention is to guide readers accordingly, updating them with the latest trends and news, offering inspiration and encouraging growth in almost all spheres of their lives. Mannequin’s belief is that fashion is not just in the clothes a woman wears but how they are worn, how she carries herself and how she lives.
The first issue is themed “Nouveau” and was launched on October 1st, 2010 with model, Cynthia Omorodion, Studio 53 Extra’s Eku Edewor and female rap artist Mo’Cheddah on the cover.
Mannequin Magazine costs N700 and is available throughout Lagos with plans of reaching other states in Nigeria within a few months.
You can find out more about Mannequin via their website: www.mannequin-magazine.com

Beautiful girls! I love the dress Eku has on in the second picture! Nice!
NICE PICTURES…….BUT WOULD LOVED THEY MIXED THE SIZES WITH A LITTLE MORE FULLER FIGURED WOMAN.
THE SKINNY LOOK IS TOO MUCH FOR AN AFRICAN LOOK.
Excuse me but there are also naturally skinny ladies in Africa also, not all African women are full figured.
I’m African and I’m skinny. Your point?
cool .

Eku and her Twin sister http://www.hautefashionafrica.com/wp-content/gallery/edewor-thorley-twins/Georgina%20&%20Kessiana%20Edewor%20-%20%20Thorley.jpg
Cynthia is really lovely, like a breath of fresh air!
I sooooo agree! She has the most striking look here! You would think the ‘oyibo’ girl would steal the ‘picshow’.
Love the outfit, and it’s amazing that the editorial fashion magazines are becoming an industry! It’s been a long time coming

M A N N E Q U I N baybeeeeee!!!! LOVES IT MUCH!
Its about time we av something like this on d street of 9ja. Let’s get it. This mag got my vote.
Eku and Mo’cheddah totally outshine cynthia, the model, in these pictures. Cynthia is almost nonexistent in them. I found myself having to look for her in the pictures. I’m not impressed, sebi she is the model. Anyway, the mag looks kool.

I agree. Eku is a model by training though.

This is so cool!!!
i like the concept, but the quality of the pictures are bad. they should have used a better photographer
Bad Design, that’s all I can see. Gosh! And the styling…no comment
i love mannequin this is the new vogue like its the first of its kind in africa amazing thank u team mannequin!its your fashion bible yessssssssssssssssssir!ok im tweew excited
“it’s the new Vogue? Chill now! Look at the titles: Plastic surgery a DO or Don’t… really?
every real woman should have a copy in her purse cant wait!
Great! Mag looks awesome! Am proud of mannequin. Congrats didi! This is just the beginning! Everyone watch out for mannequin. Much love!
wow! extremely poor quality of work. You can also tell that it is the mannequin team that is coming on here to comment, because this is OBVIOUSLY very poor quality of photography and design, and the denim dresses look tacky. Nigeria’s vogue my foot…..
Hw dare u say dat, do you have any idea hw mch work dis people have put in. Its people like u dat draws nigeria backward. Cnt u just appreciate things for once in ur life, must u always go and dig for flaws in anything dat nigerians do, pls just embrace it. Kmft
Wow naija magazines have definitely stepped up o…even the pics nowadays are comparable to GQ/Vogue….nice!!!!!!!!!!
Haha nice try but no. Look at the cover, the headlines are so scattered that it is distracting. The models should have been placed better so it looks like they have chemistry. The girl on the left looks like the other girls are contagious or something. It’s like she doesn’t even want to be in the pic.
i guess you are talking about other mags not this one, because there is nothing here that can compare with Vogue or GQ.
Nice 1 ……
Mo’Cheddah looks lovely. She has a pretty face.
ladies looking good
Eku’s pics are all over BN because she’s an industry folk-she hosts many shows
some people can hate though, seriously. Bisi obv doesn’t read magazines and just wants to say something. what chemistry do u want2 see exactly. The pictures are hot.end of.
Well you just exposed yourself. Look at the best magazines in the world, when multiple people are on one cover there has to be a certain chemistry or it is awkward. Vogue did not get to where it is today without having criticism that helped them improve. You might be okay with mediocrity but I am not. With more criticism these magazines would get better and become rivals with the best out there. You on the other hand need to raise your standards.
true. the word ‘hater’ is used out of context 99% of the time
i don’t know y Eku looks like Leighton Meester (blair waldorf) to me sometimes.
i heard Mo’cheddar is 19… hmmm…
that girl Cynthia is fine! original black beauty.
the pictures are nice sha. i like those shoes!!!
i love Eku’s shoes and jacket in the 1st pix, nice pictures.
Eku edewor is a pwettty girl! She is everywhere lately though…..what does she do now? I guess her twin is still back in the UK…gorge girls!
This mag is actually tighter than I expected can’t wait to see what its got inside…mannequin u rock
I so love their shoes,i will be visiting Naija for the first time this DEC and boy I will be shoppimg up a storm,Bella where can i get their shoes…
Damn…cynthia killed it. She is sooooo fresh and beautiful. She should have been in the middle of the first cover page.
