      • A.k March 14, 2011 at 1:38 AM

Yea, she was. Her name is Amina

    • nameeo March 14, 2011 at 1:33 AM

just thinking oh….if you are Emerging Designer of the year, isn’t this a good platform to promote such talent by taking her to the NYFW. Some names on that list have featured there before why not give fresh talent a chance. just my 2 naira

      • hateunrealisticpeople March 15, 2011 at 6:44 AM

Nope.. because it is risk, NYFW could be the make or break of her cos there are loads of fashion critics and secondly, she might not be able to handle it when the large orders starts rolling in. Thats why Victoria Beckham as still not being on it.

    • babycake March 14, 2011 at 1:47 AM

      • Salama March 14, 2011 at 8:43 PM

Oluchi is there o…she’s the one presenting Flaviana Matata’s award to her. She’s looking quite preggers too!

        • THE AMAKA March 15, 2011 at 1:09 AM

i made that before the other pictures were added. NO WONDER SHE ISN’T MODELLING! she is probably pregnant again. awwww, congrats to her!
i don’t think thats Flaviana standing next to Oluchi, and if it is, her face has really changed.

Thumbs to Arise Magazine, there is a re-birth of African Fashion. We hope corporate bodies will come on board as sponsors,it is time.

    • StephanieIj March 14, 2011 at 11:38 AM

There was an audition for West Africa’s Next Top Model in 2009….girls were short-listed but they never got back to them. Someone should really look into that…. The thing tho is would the platform really take the girls far?…or would it just to be for our entertainment and profit?

      • THE AMAKA March 14, 2011 at 2:45 PM

west africa’s next top model = nigeria’s next top model. they only had auditions in naija. so they might as well call it what it is.

    • chiangel March 14, 2011 at 12:52 PM

    • Adiya March 14, 2011 at 3:02 PM

I trust Deola! Good job. Sorry I missed it *sigh*

    • Obi March 14, 2011 at 9:13 PM

First of all what the heck is Agbani wearing? She’s got a great body and all but that does not forgive that dress. Flavianna bears a resemblance to Nnenna (top model show Nnenna) … maybe its just my eyes; a younger looking and more round faced version. And Shade Thomas Fahm looks like a cutout poster in that pic. Chika Emmanuel (PRICELESS!!!). I’m proud of our designers.

Happy and gutted @ the same time. Happy that Arise went to 9ja after such a long time, I can’t believe they waited soo long. BTW that magazine costs £4.95 in London and getting it like finding gold dust (difficult!), gutted I wasn’t there but London Tonight reported 2mins abi 2 seconds from behind the scenes! Na wah. 9ja is definitely gaining more recognition on the world stage. Mo cheddah reminds me of a young Brandy ; ) visit me @ http://www.9javatar.blogspot.com. One Love
