Taé debuts the “Emotan” Collection
Posted on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011 at 1:23 PMBy Ijeoma Ndekwu
Bisola Edun‘s Taé is known for its simple, well-tailored ready-to-wear pieces, which combine aesthetically appealing African elements with contemporary silhouettes. Her pieces are crafted to instantly bestow on the wearer, an effortless yet stylish charm which we at BN Style admire.
The Emotan Collection reinforces the Taé appeal. Although there are pieces tailored to a reasonably mature audience, She manages to keep the collection leveled out, as we are presented with quite a number of pieces which express youthful exuberance in its enviable splendor.

Ok yawnnnnnn…… Can some of these so called “designers” come up with something new…?
Haba Jayla…they’re nice enough now…
nice jare…
ah ah, i tell you! These shots are nice, and very good lighting! kai naija people cannot be pleased! so many burnt people spewing criticism. do your own make we see naa?! full of criticism, no productivity! mtchewww what have you done lately? hiss!
I particularly like the Maxi skirts. Thumbs up!
Very nice staff and with the beading makes all the difference. Great work
boring….
okay..took a second look…i like the dress jacket
They’re really nice, love the fabrics, love the collection. more grease to your elbows Emotan, some of us really like it!
i love all the dresses and i couldn’t help but scope the shoes(bite me)..Lol
they are wearable unlike some others we see
There’s no wow factor here, some of the pieces even look like ituen basi’s collection i couldn’t even pick out one design that is unique to the line, nice try but please try again.
not great. seen better designs from Tae
they are ok but damn i looked at the 1st model twice instead of d dress, girl you be killin em
i lov d tailoring
the same everyday designs……
lmao
the brown shoes stands out more dan the dresses
*yawn*
Hmmmmm! I am soo in love right now….Just lovely
I saw this on 360nobs & I was hoping BN wouldn’t post it so that I wouldn’t have to write something not nice about yet another ‘designer’. I know that the fringe effect takes work, so I won’t talk ish about the entire line, but abeg…my tailor in Abule Egba can do this, & I’m sure it’ll be cheaper than what I’d pay for these.
P.S. The ‘model’ in the 5th to the last picture…babes, how far? Are you constipated & trying to get it out?
I wont call this a designer collection but well tailored collection
I love them all.
I spot some D&G platforms on a model! i guess there is a market for this stuff and i respect anyone who takes initiative to do their own. All u 9-5er’s dont hate! Hating is the only thing i hate about a hater #justsayin
I can’t believe this collection, taking us 6 years back when people started ‘sewing nice styles’ with ankara.
The models are another story. The one squatting in the grass looks like she’s passing watery stool and the brown weave is just sad. Very unfortunate…
same ol’ same ol’.good seamstress but i dont see what is so spectacular about these designs….all wearable and any tailor can sew them.nice anyway
Well done Tae…big kudos to you lovely and wearable…from one Sagamu girl to another….loves it
its okay, a lot of wearable stuff that i could see myself in, but nothing new. nice finishing.
and btw, what is up with this photo? i know tyra banks would have a lot to say about this one. lol

A truly yawn moment. was so hoping for more, very very basic designs.
Where can I buy it!? is all I can say. works well in the office as well as on a party.
d models really lik alike
They are all nice I like the jackets maxi skirts colors would be ready to wear copy put on great job love the shoes
notin new…
LOVE the emotan collection!!! Saw it on Facebook and the pictures do no justice to the clothes. I went into the shop to buy 2 pieces and ended up with 6 pieces! The colors, the simple flattering cuts, the finish! This is my opinon is her best collection ! Well done Tae, i look forward to your next collection
Those of you posting negative comments clearly have no idea of style or fashion for that matter. Tae makes no claim to being haute, she makes wearable stuff like gray, ituen basi and that is the beauty of it. all your yawns and negativity need to be zipped. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing.
Beautiful! Amazing!!! Love it!!!! I was sad to find the pieces I wanted were sold out already. Is there a mailing list we can sign on to for future releases? Is there another shop in Nigeria wr I can check if my size is in stock?
The masquerade designs should be supplied to the lagos state carnival or even calabar carnival! Whats with the shredding??? Nothing interesting joor. Ankara has gone miles further than this level.
same old,same old
Lmao! BN commenters uwont kill mi! Tae is an hsehold name alredi so I’d kip shut! She’s jst not soji sha!
The best thing about this line is the name-Tae; I think it’s beautiful. The rather derivative old-fashioned designs are another matter altogether.
Not so me
Well done darling Bisola. Always proud of you!!!!
Definitely want the fitted green Jacket……… Lots of love and please keep up the good work.
The lady in brown V neck short sleeve blouse with red and blue ankara skirt – how much is her necklace please and how can i buy it?
The model in brown V neck short sleeve blouse with red and blue ankara skirt – how much is her bead necklace please and how can i buy it? want it for my daughter. Pls reply
For people to contact you, always leave your contact details on your collections please -email address or number. Beautiful collection!!!
I’m a fan of Bisola’s Work. but this collection is so ordinary, i could fall asleep looking at it. Aside from those embellished jackets which i could score 60%, evry thing smacks of “neigbhourhood tailor”
Well, that people say all sorts forgeting that this lady makes wearable ready made piece for any girl, lady woman ….. to go in pick up and go. Why do we hve a trend in the foreign fashion world n u go into from Primak to topshop, zara, love lable, A-wear n d rest. It the same thing just with little or no difference, just twisted here n there. So fashion commentators on bella, know d difference between a commercial designer n an haute couture. Good work creative head of Tae i do understand your idea.
very impressive! so inspiring!
BN, we @ deebeam.com UK would be honoured to have a commercial relationship with you. Let us hear your thoughts as soon as possible. Regards!
lighting is perfect.. but the location.. no no
