Taé debuts the “Emotan” Collection

By Ijeoma Ndekwu

Bisola Edun‘s Taé is known for its simple, well-tailored ready-to-wear pieces, which combine  aesthetically appealing African elements with contemporary silhouettes. Her pieces are crafted to instantly bestow on the wearer, an effortless yet stylish charm which we at BN Style admire.

The Emotan Collection reinforces the Taé appeal. Although there are pieces tailored to a reasonably mature audience, She manages to keep the collection leveled out, as we are presented with quite a number of pieces which express youthful exuberance in its enviable splendor.

View the Emotan Collection below:

Taé: 15B Oduduwa Way, Ikeja GRA, Lagos

Hmmmmm! I am soo in love right now….Just lovely

    • Ready May 3, 2011 at 6:54 PM

I saw this on 360nobs & I was hoping BN wouldn’t post it so that I wouldn’t have to write something not nice about yet another ‘designer’. I know that the fringe effect takes work, so I won’t talk ish about the entire line, but abeg…my tailor in Abule Egba can do this, & I’m sure it’ll be cheaper than what I’d pay for these.
P.S. The ‘model’ in the 5th to the last picture…babes, how far? Are you constipated & trying to get it out?

    • Mary007 May 3, 2011 at 7:22 PM

I wont call this a designer collection but well tailored collection

    • BC May 3, 2011 at 7:25 PM

      I love them all.

    • foolish talk May 3, 2011 at 9:53 PM

I spot some D&G platforms on a model! i guess there is a market for this stuff and i respect anyone who takes initiative to do their own. All u 9-5er’s dont hate! Hating is the only thing i hate about a hater #justsayin

    • BlessedAssurance May 3, 2011 at 10:00 PM

I can’t believe this collection, taking us 6 years back when people started ‘sewing nice styles’ with ankara.
The models are another story. The one squatting in the grass looks like she’s passing watery stool and the brown weave is just sad. Very unfortunate…

    • rosebud May 3, 2011 at 10:22 PM

same ol’ same ol’.good seamstress but i dont see what is so spectacular about these designs….all wearable and any tailor can sew them.nice anyway

    • nameeo May 3, 2011 at 10:25 PM

Well done Tae…big kudos to you lovely and wearable…from one Sagamu girl to another….loves it

    • THE AMAKA May 4, 2011 at 12:12 AM

its okay, a lot of wearable stuff that i could see myself in, but nothing new. nice finishing.
and btw, what is up with this photo? i know tyra banks would have a lot to say about this one. lol

    • Annika May 4, 2011 at 2:44 PM

Where can I buy it!? is all I can say. works well in the office as well as on a party.

    • Tyna May 4, 2011 at 3:47 PM

    • Atinuke May 4, 2011 at 5:24 PM

LOVE the emotan collection!!! Saw it on Facebook and the pictures do no justice to the clothes. I went into the shop to buy 2 pieces and ended up with 6 pieces! The colors, the simple flattering cuts, the finish! This is my opinon is her best collection ! Well done Tae, i look forward to your next collection

    • Olatunde May 4, 2011 at 5:27 PM

Those of you posting negative comments clearly have no idea of style or fashion for that matter. Tae makes no claim to being haute, she makes wearable stuff like gray, ituen basi and that is the beauty of it. all your yawns and negativity need to be zipped. If you have nothing good to say, say nothing.

    • Mairo May 4, 2011 at 5:29 PM

Beautiful! Amazing!!! Love it!!!! I was sad to find the pieces I wanted were sold out already. Is there a mailing list we can sign on to for future releases? Is there another shop in Nigeria wr I can check if my size is in stock?

    • q_styl May 4, 2011 at 7:56 PM

The masquerade designs should be supplied to the lagos state carnival or even calabar carnival! Whats with the shredding??? Nothing interesting joor. Ankara has gone miles further than this level.

    • coco May 4, 2011 at 8:35 PM

      same old,same old

    • joy May 4, 2011 at 9:07 PM

Lmao! BN commenters uwont kill mi! Tae is an hsehold name alredi so I’d kip shut! She’s jst not soji sha!

    • Peperempe May 4, 2011 at 9:37 PM

The best thing about this line is the name-Tae; I think it’s beautiful. The rather derivative old-fashioned designs are another matter altogether.

    • Shukulicious Shu-Shu May 4, 2011 at 9:41 PM

      Not so me

    • Frankie-lymon May 9, 2011 at 5:51 PM

I’m a fan of Bisola’s Work. but this collection is so ordinary, i could fall asleep looking at it. Aside from those embellished jackets which i could score 60%, evry thing smacks of “neigbhourhood tailor”

    • eagle eye May 12, 2011 at 3:10 PM

Well, that people say all sorts forgeting that this lady makes wearable ready made piece for any girl, lady woman ….. to go in pick up and go. Why do we hve a trend in the foreign fashion world n u go into from Primak to topshop, zara, love lable, A-wear n d rest. It the same thing just with little or no difference, just twisted here n there. So fashion commentators on bella, know d difference between a commercial designer n an haute couture. Good work creative head of Tae i do understand your idea.

    • Chiny Precious-Gem May 14, 2011 at 5:40 PM

      very impressive! so inspiring!
BN, we @ deebeam.com UK would be honoured to have a commercial relationship with you. Let us hear your thoughts as soon as possible. Regards!
