Just a few weeks ago, we were browsing through the Daisy-Mak style blog and spotted the blogger, Wunmi Akinsola (You may remember her from BN My Style) rocking the Opal Dress by Virgos Lounge. Just a few hours ago, photos of entrepreneur Angela Simmons surfaced from the Mercedes Benz New York Fashion Week in the same dress. The colours of this dress definitely create a wow effect. The Yellow and turquoise beaded party dress stands out for all the right reasons.
Yes this is a “party dress” but Wunmi Akinsola styled it so well as a glam daytime look. She paired the dress with block platform pumps from Dorothy Perkins and accessorized with gold vintage earrings. Wunmi added a nifty pop of colour via her makeup with red lippie and green/gold eyeliner. Her simple braided updo was the final touch. Fab!
Angela Simmons emphasized the nighttime glam factor of this look by letting her long wavy locks down and then she paired her dress with a pair of statement heels! The Crystallized Colorblock Platform Slingback shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti sealed the deal.

HMMMM! A little confused! I would have voted for Wummi if she had chosen brighter colour shoes! So i’ll have to go for Angela (maybe it’s the picture quality). On close ups; i love Wummi’s far better! oooooh! lol! confused!
Wunmi wore the dress better. The way she packed her hair backwards,brought out the design on the dress (love it). Great choice of earrings too. Love the shoe color (almost her skin color). Great job Wunmi.

Wunmi: shoes, hair, overall look worked for me. As for the wrong bra, didn’t think that’s the case. I thought the dress looked really good on her.
Angela: the shoes didn’t work well with the dress to me. The lighting helped make her look dazzling but Wunmi still wins this one to me.

for me, Wunmi almost nailed it perfectly….the dress looks really sweet on her,,,dont understand what people mean by it fitted Angela more..think its just the lightning..only thing I didnt like was Wunmi’s shoes…a bit too plain..and don’t think it goes…understand its day look but think she could have found a better alternative

Wunmi wins hand-down for showing off †ђξ intricate design in †ђξ front panel of her dress. Angela got it wrong by covering it up with all that mass of hair. For a daytime look, Wunmi’s shoes r perfect plssss

I’d have to say both look beautiful, however Angela wore it better, something about the top part of the dress (zigzag) is not working for Wunmi and the shoes, Red or nude would have been better, nevertheless she still looks nice………….

Errrr hang on yall… wore it to an event, was professionally styled and made up. Wunmi probably just wore it for lunch and did hair and make up herself. with this its clear that if Wunmi had half the professional help Angela did, this wont even be a contest. Then lets talk about the lighting and all…you go Wunmi xoxo….oh and the shoes should be bland cos the dress is busy enough as it is.
