A Gathering to Rekindle Friendships! Sasha, Karen, Toolz, Denrele, Lami, Yinka Davies & More at “Baileys Spoil Your Friends Day” Event in Lagos

Late last year, some of our loved celebrities and socialites gathered at Wheatbaker Hotel, Ikoyi for premium Irish spirit brand’s – Baileys event tagged “Baileys Spoil Your Friends Day”.

The fun event that was all about rekindling and revitalizing friendship, was truly an unforgettable one as guests indulged themselves and reconnected in a relaxed atmosphere far away from the everyday hustling and bustling. They were also treated to the best of baileys cocktails, scrumptious meals and great music. In attendance at this event that also took place in over 80 countries were Karen Igho, Denrele Edun, Yinka Davies, Lami, Ashionye Ugboh-Raccah, Sasha, Ngozi Omambala, Tosin Bucknor, Onos Bikawe, Bukky Nzeogu, Tolu (Toolz) Oniru and Linda Ikeji.

Folakemi Brown-Emodi (Brand Manager, Baileys) said “People around us make our lives better by being there when we need them. So, the Baileys day of friendship is rightly tagged ‘Spoil Your Friends Day”.

Baileys made from a mix of cream, sugar, cocoa and the finest Irish spirits has been around since 1974 and proved its worth once again by organizing this event that brings friends together.

Wondering how the event went, then you are the right place, yours truly – BN has all the photos from the event.

Plus $200k is not a wellspring or fountain of money, people’s priorities differ so please dont slash her for such a reason.

Ehem, Denrele’s hair has a life of it’s own. It reminds me of that movie with the alien coming out of the sea and grubbing the earth [insertAlienSoundEffect here]… or even better that other movie with the alien destroying the earth. okay, havent watched any specific movie like that but it just feels like it I’ve seen it before.

    • Ginika January 30, 2012 at 1:12 pm

Uhhhh, now I remember what it reminds me of, Medusa from the movie clash of the titans…

Dont care what Bella Naija thinks, there aint no style in Lagos or even in Nigeria in general. We just like to think we know a thing or two about style but I disagree.
Mis Sozzani,Italian vogue editor mentioned something of this sort when she said in Ghana that she has visited Nigeria and Togo or benin but the only place she saw semblence of real fashion was in Ghana.I dont know if I agree about Ghana being stylish but I totally agree that we dont, period.Google this if you don`t believe me.
I believe Bellanaija wont air my views cos its against their view

    • Truth be told January 31, 2012 at 1:51 am

I’m not Ghanaian but yes I agree that they have better style. I always said it that before Nigerians started making quality clothes, Ghana had already started way back when

    • Omo January 31, 2012 at 10:37 am

I think Nigeria;s problem is that everyone tries too hard n then they end up overdoing. But i still like to think that the Nigerian people got style

    • Gidi January 31, 2012 at 5:07 pm

I respect the Italian Vogue editor as she must know a thing or two about fashion.
However, i have been round the continent and still keep tabs on fashion trends on major cities in Africa. I wish to respectfully but vehemently disagree with her.
The problem like someone here mentioned is that Nigerians (females in particular), often try too hard. You see girls wearing expensive but inappropriate clothes to events. Have you seen them at clubs (parties) and concerts?
Ghanaians just don’t have the vibrancy that Nigerians have in fashion.
South Africans are the laziest set of folks when it comes to fashion. They just don’t make an effort at all.
Kenyans do well but are not as daring as Nigerians and lack the willingness to experiment.
Nigerians are easily the most stylish people on this continent,if only our ladies would learn that sometimes less is more and that that outfits are event specific.

Well well well…dt statement by d vogue editor only goes to show dt she herself has no style…If she says Nigerians av no style dn wat abt Anna Della Russo d always eccentric styled lady who works wit vogue and is celebrated for her garish n weird outfits…Anna Della Ruso’s crazy style is called eclectic meaning??…meaning dt unlike fashion or trends which could be objective, style is totally subjective…with style all dt matters is dt d whole look is cohesive with some form of rhythm…style cannot be dictated, taught or instilled…style is totally defined by you as a person n incorporates parts of ur own personality if nt it wont work…there r lots of stylish pple in Nigeria n we av our own style…African style cnt evolve from Europe just like our traditional fabric choices r far different from theirs…there r lots of stylish Nigerian women n d only problem most Nigerians av wit dressing is adding unnecessary fashion pieces to their outfits…shikena!!
