BN Weddings presents “She Said Yes”: Lyndah Ofili & Chris Ehumadu
Posted on Monday, July 30th, 2012 at 1:12 PMBy BellaNaija.com
The BellaNaija Weddings team kicked off something really special on Monday last week and we close off with a dazzling finale today!
The BellaNaija.com anniversary month is in July and over the past 7 days, we have celebrated BN at 6 by delving into our BN Weddings vault. We scooped out 6 fabulous proposal stories…from simple romantic proposals to dramatic productions.
Attorney Lyndah Ofili & Engineer Chris Ehumadu tied the knot in April 2012 and their wedding theme “Luxury defined…”, it’s clear that Lyndah & Chris definitely pulled off their dream wedding.
Chris proposed to Lyndah “way up in the sky“, we wont give too much away but let’s just say he took her breath away with his romantic proposal.
Enjoy.
Before “She Said Yes” – How Lyndah & Chris Met
We met in the winter of 2009 through our mutual friend. It’s kind of weird; we could have actually met before then: earlier in the year, Lyndah had received a new work assignment in New Jersey and finally moved in the month of March, and the same month, Chris started attending her home church. We have no doubt in our minds that would have been the starting point for us, but even though we missed it once, the Lord still realigned our footsteps. Who knows? We probably wouldn’t have taken each other seriously then with the move and then long distance. Ultimately, we believe God wanted this to happen the way it did and that’s exactly what happened.
The Proposal!
by Lyndah
My sweetheart is so traditional, he had initially asked my mom for my hand in marriage before I knew of anything. I’m pretty good at snooping but they kept this well away from me
On Sept 18th, 2011, we arrived in London to attend the London Fashion Week Designers’ Party which was to take place the next day. Since we had an earlier flight, we decided to do some sightseeing and ended up in a London Eye capsule. Right at the very top of the sky, he proposed and popped the question;
Of course, I said, “Yes!” Actually, my exact words were “YAH HAN!” Lol.

Absolutely love it!

one word. ON POINT.
Lovely wedding. Please I have a question and I will love to get answers,BN I will be glad if u replied me too.Me and my boyfriend have been confused about proposal ring.Is it the same ring dat a guy uses to propose to a lady that she also uses on d day of the engagement(during the wedding proper)or tthey will dispose it and get new set of rings/bands for the engagement and wedding band
Your proposal ring is for life. The day of the wedding, you add a wedding band to it……So 2 rings (engagement ring and wedding band)
My dear it depends, if na kpanda he take propose don’t keep it o
! Ordinarily the proposal ring is supposed to be the actual engagement ring which is what you wear, and then on the wedding day you add d wedding band. However, it can be different in some cases, like mine. At the end of the day it depends on what makes both of you happy *cough* esp you
Please o, I’d like to know why most Nigerian women wear two rings, even when there was no engagement? And I noticed most engagement rings can be worn alone as wedding bands even if they have some embellishment.Pls someone who has answers should reply.
this is lovely, fantastic and in one word BN this is a splendid wedding
This wedding truly lived up to its theme “luxury defined”
Love it! Bella I thought you would round up the week with yours.

Who is the photographer?
These are the best pictures on here.
Chei…. See moneyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!!!! Mehn!!!
One of my favorite weddings thus far – I adore the fact that it’s on a smaller scale, intimate and super elegant. I keep telling people that this idea of having 500+ people at your wedding is sooooo unnecessary… if that’s what you want, good for you, but I personally love smaller weddings that are uber sophisticated. If you save some money on the wedding on the basis of not inviting 1k people, go have a blast on your honeymoon or go buy a house…
ps: the first wedding dress is simply stunning!!!!!! Dayum!
ohhhhh, I just noticed that the pink overlay material they used for the table and chairs is actually a LACE MATERIAL!!!! I know that for sure because that same material was used during a friend’s wedding. How flipping creative!!!!! Never thought one could use lace for decor… #WhoKnew!
lol! y’all know imma be obsessing over this page in the next few days… #coversface
Omo, any force or group of forces dat says I won’t marry a rich man, die by fire…….lovely concept. God bless ur union.
amen….adura!!!!!!! Ni oruko jeeeeeesu!
LMAO!!! AMENnnnn!!!
Amen….n me to oooo….amin jesuuuuu
Lovely wedding, well put together. As for folks saying she spent a lot and so doesn’t depict her humble self, I beg to differ with that. First off, it doesn’t cost much to have your wedding abroad(i mean outside Nigeria). you can have 80-100 guests, have a very classy wedding without spending nearly 10,000pounds. And that sum is really if you want to take it to the extreme of class. Whereas if you did a wedding in Nigeria, you cant put a figure on your guest list so you estimate 500 people, 400 out of 500 you’ve got no clue who they are. You spend 25,000 and your wedding is not even half as nice!
I disagree with you. Here in American, to have a decent Nigerian wedding, you have to spend at least 34-40 thousand dollars. Try and convert it to Naria and see what it comes out to…
Ummm Chika, depends on where you live in the US. I live in the States, got married in Naija, and wedding cost us o. I know how much my parents spent of their own money, at least N4m, my hubby spent almost N2m, and we no dey add ticket we had to pay to travel to Naija for myself, fam and all. Cake alone for trad and white was N300-350k. All cash, no credit card charged. All for a decent wedding, no be politician type wedding, just a nice, decent wedding of about 700 people (smh) Fashi that, wherever you live, a wedding will cost you. After that, my parents told my siblings, dem no want Naija wedding again LOL!!! My American friend who got married, spent $15k on her wedding here. Obviously difference is that dem fit do crowd control, even with Naija weddings in Yankee, its hard to do crowd control.
Sorry, I have to disagree with you. Here in American, to have a decent Nigerian wedding, you have to spend at least 34-40 thousand dollars. Try and convert it to Naria and see what it comes out to…
I have to agree with Chika–weedings in the States are more expensive than those done back home. To have a classy wedding (not over the top) you will spend a minimum of $30k (depending on the guest count).
@ bella naija. well done, great stories, great initiative,…….Not sure of the selection criteria from your archive but if I recall, you have featured some wedding proposals that are for more outstanding and fascinating .I recall Isi Omiyi which generated soooo much interest and Banke Adeniran which I opine was very cool. What do you say?
Those dresses look like Kleinfeld dresses…
Lovely wedding
Na wa oooo… happy Married Life … Signs of good things to come for me! Lovely Wedding
