It is the event which is arguably one of the biggest awards ceremonies that unites Africa’s creative force like nothing else.
In case you missed the buzz, we are talking about the 2014 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards which took place on Saturday 8th March 2014 at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos,
The grand affair was a sight to behold- from the red carpet to the main awards ceremony.

They made us ooh, ahh, and just shout at our TV screens and laptops that they were woke up like this…wait for it – FLAWLESS.
Best Dressed Women
It’s Miss World 2001 Agbani Darego.
Agbani was regal on the red carpet striking an akimbo in a green one-shoulder strap and cape creation by Meena. She accessorized the frock which features an alluring train with gold-and-emerald drop earrings, and a gold clutch.
Sweeping her braids to her back, she completed the look with red lipstick.
Give it up for Rita.
The lighting at the awards show worked very well for Rita Dominic‘s choice of outfit. Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi created a sequined and embellished red dress.
Her accessorizing played a key part in giving it the much needed glamour. She chose gold drop earrings and a gold clutch. She also opted for smokey eyes and red lipstick.
Tinsel actress Osas Ighodaro glided down the red carpet in a stunning outfit from Iconic Invanity‘s Spring 2014 collection.
The co-host of the event had four looks for the night.
Osas styled the long sleeve white beaded piece with triangular shaped disco earrings, a silver cocktail ring, a silver bracelet and bejeweled nude clutch.
In the beauty department, Osas glowed with her highlighted eyebrows, and neutral lipstick.
Media personality Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi sizzled in a grey sequined dress from April by Kunbi. This is arguably her best look in 2014 yet.
The spaghetti strap number which hugged her figure like a glove, was styled with silver earrings, a silver ring, and silver clutch.
We would have really loved her to go for an up do, but her side swept dark locks didn’t disappoint.
Up-and-coming Nigerian singer Tonye Garrick looked beautiful in a white lace dress by rising label FrockIt RockIt.
Tonye accessorized the long sleeve outfit which features a plunging neckline, with dramatic drop earrings, and a silver ring. Her look was complete with wavy locks, sultry eyes, and purple lipstick.
Media personality Liz Yemoja was one to see at the awards ceremony in her blue Isi Atagamen creation. The dress features a spaghetti strap and dramatic ruffles.
Liz accessorized with silver drop earrings and a silver ring. She chose blue eye shadow to match her dress and finished with a braided up do and luscious neutral lipstick.
TV personality and actress Eku Edewor, who stars in Michelle Bello‘s “Flower Girl” always gives us a reason to smile on the red carpet and Saturday was not an exception.
For her first look of the night, she wore a champagne sleeveless peplum top and matching skirt with a thigh high slit from Clan.
Keeping with the all-Nigerian girl theme, she chose simple styling with drop earrings, gold rings, a gold bracelet and a pair of embellished nude heels.
With her blonde wavy locks falling to her shoulders, she went for a luscious neutral pout.
She later changed into a grey lace dress with fringe shoulder detailing by Lanre Da Silva-Ajayi.

Jenifa star Funke Akindele rocked 2 looks at the awards ceremony.
Her second was the simply the best. Funke chose this Jovani cream tulle dress adorned with red appliques. She styled it with silver drop earrings and a pair of red Rene Caovilla heels
Joselyn Dumas draped her hot body in a white lace dress with an open back by Ghanaian design label She by Bena.
The Ghanaian movie star who arrived in long wavy locks and red lipstick, styled the dress with gold drop earrings and a gold clutch.
Ugonna Omeruo brought the much needed Avant-garde moment on the red carpet in a dress by her design label House of Nwocha.
The red-and-silver brocade dress with a sheer and sequined neckline, a key hole detail, and ball gown skirt, was accessorized with red earrings and a silver wrist watch.
Styling her braids into a top knot, she finished the look smokey eyes and neutral lipstick.
Hello mirror ball! Songstress Seyi Shay shimmered in a grey sequined dress with fringe detailing by Elizabeth Waldorf.
Seyi Shay kept the silver theme with a silver ring, a silver cuff, a silver bracelet and a pair of silver heels. Smokey eyes and neutral lipstick completed the look.
One of the reigning queens of Nollywood Genevieve Nnaji looked simple and chic in a Jewel by Lisa custom outfit.
Her sequined crop top and matching skirt, with a white mesh, was styled with diamond stud earrings and a black clutch.
She finished the look with smokey eyes, red lipstick and an up do.
Best Dressed Men
Nollywood actor Chidi Mokeme was definitely one of the best dressed men at the awards ceremony.
He took to the red carpet in a white tuxedo with a shawl lapel, a white dress shirt, a black polka dot bow tie, navy pocket square, black trousers, and a striking pair of white-and-black shoes all put together by his fashion retail company GQ Wearhouse.
It is not an outing for Chidi without his dark shades.
Daring to be different, Uti Nwachukwu took a different approach but still maintained his dapper look in 2 suits.
The first was an Ankara blazer and matching trousers designed by David Bowler. He styled it with a white shirt, a red tie, and red shoes.
His next look which may raise a few eyebrows was a splendid delight to see on the red carpet…I mean who takes risks these days anymore.
The Nigerian media personality/actor selected a double breasted army green suit with wide peak lapels and matching trousers from one of his go-to-designers Adeyeye Adetayo of Taryor Gabriels.
A white shirt, a black bow tie, a black-and-white pocket square and black shoes, completed his look.
Which is your favourite?
It’s Iyanya. The Nigerian music star was one of the few musicians to grace the distinguished event.
BellaNaija Style certainly had our eyes on his look because it wasn’t the typical sartorial style. Iyanya selected a green velvet shirt with wide notch lapels by Taryor Gabriels, tartan trousers and brown shoes.
He accessorized with a black bow tie, and dark shades by Porsche P8478.
As unbelievably as it seems, Mike Ezuruonye was present at the event on Saturday night.
The Nollywood actor rarely makes an appearance on the red carpet, so it was to much delight to see him. Although his wife wasn’t there with him, he turned a lot of heads in a red tuxedo, a white shirt, a black bow tie, black trousers and black shoes.

IK Ogbonna‘s look could go for one torn out of the pages of a William Shakespeare novel.
He chose a black suit jacket and grey-and-black trousers by Taryor Gabriels, a white shirt, a black velvet bow tie, a red pocket square and black shoes.

Julius Agwu may be a funny man but make no mistake, he takes his look on the red carpet seriously.
The comedian looked suave in a navy blue 3-piece tuxedo with wide notch lapels. He accessorized with a white shirt, a black velvet bow tie and black shoes.
Rising actor Adeyemi Okanlawon was dapper in a black double-button tuxedo. He styled it with a white shirt, a black velvet bow tie and black shoes.
It is good to see an up-and-coming male actor bringing his style game.
A lot of men were spotted in Ohimai Atafo‘s suits but he takes the crown for pulling the best Mai Atafo Inspired look.
The Nigerian designer wore a brown brocade single button tuxedo, a white shirt, black trousers, a black velvet bow tie and black shoes. His black cummerbund completed his dapper look. Joining other men in glasses, he selected his signature pair.

IK & Olohi Osakioduwa
Move over Brangelina, the Osakioduwas know how to work matchy matchy couple style.
Co-host of the evening IK Osakioduwa arrived at the event in a blue Mai Atafo Inspired tuxedo with black lapels, black trousers and black shoes.
His wife Olohi showed off her sartorial edge as well in a red velvet jacket, black trousers and nude pumps.
