    Uncle Bill…

    • Weezy March 13, 2016 at 6:42 pm

      As in.

      Did he or will he:
      – come to your college graduation or send you money to mark the event?
      – ask after you by name while talking to your father one evening?
      – have your family over to his house just to hang out, and inviting no one else?

If the answer is no, Bill Gates is not your uncle. Sorry.

      • ATL’s finest March 13, 2016 at 8:21 pm

@ Weezy pls calm down & enjoy the humor. It’s like me saying ‘Mama Oprah or mama O’ does that mean she’s gonna attend any of my events? No but the grace or the zeal they purposes or their humor makes us love them. So Yes, Uncle Bill is the Ish ?Thank U.

      • We hear March 14, 2016 at 9:04 am

      • goldfinch March 14, 2016 at 9:50 am

lol………….You remind me of this part of Naija Single girls post about BN commenters:

“………Bella Naija audience appear like they roll with the same class of people & I keep wondering why I forgot to add BN comment section as no 26 on my 25 places to meet a rich husband in Lagos.
For instance if the caption of a post reads “George Tinubu Fashola weds Damilola Tonto Obanikoro, the comment section takes the following formats.

“Really? No wonder I saw Fred Agbaje, the younger brother of Tinibu at Walmarts on Saturday”
“Awww…so happy for Tonto. Tonto if you are reading this say hi to Kiki, Bimbo and Eku. We should have lunch sometime”
“Coventry Class of 2012 rocks. Already getting ready for Tonto’s bridal shower!!!”………….”

Lemme Famz too, oh see my uncle Bills and uncle Femi and aunt Nana!!! Omg!!! Hi uncles!!

  • Rolly March 13, 2016 at 9:04 pm

It’s really cute to see how their entire family were starstruck. From the parents in the pic to the children posting the picture. I find it a bit humbling actually…a lot of Nigerians place them on a pedestal but this just proves they are “normal”

  • july March 13, 2016 at 9:31 pm

The internet sef, it was obviously a light hearted joke. The dollar, nepa and fuel issues as made us loose our sense of humour, e go better. My dear famz him jor, nd she might just b trying to be a respectful african child, hence d ‘uncle’.

    • Cynical March 13, 2016 at 10:06 pm

@july,anyone in naija right now with a sense of humor is a trooper o. Everything is soooo bleak right now,. Anyway,Like my people regularly say, God dey.

  • o March 13, 2016 at 9:45 pm

Ppl cant even recognize a joke again…

  • Jamb question March 13, 2016 at 10:42 pm

My uncle does none of those things. It does not stop him from being my uncle, We are just not close yet we share the same surname. Next time you greet someone uncle this or aunty that, mama. mommy or daddy and they are not related to you by blood ask yourself these questions. As in.

Only a dim light bulb would not realise that this is clear a show of respect and light hearted joker.

  • Ariere March 13, 2016 at 10:42 pm

Celebrities to the point of bn perceived as demi gods in their Homeland; but just another regular wealthy Man with his Wife in that Event…

The entire family even had to famz about meeting Mr. Gates.

Life is just a Pot of Beans. Ur biggest Purchase is the value of Someone else’s token.

By the way, Temi calling Bill Gates her uncle is just Humour. Y’all should get over urselves and just work to elevate ur current level. Her parents got to meet him.its worth famzing about: Billions of people won’t ever get this Moment.

    • oversabi March 14, 2016 at 2:44 am

I dont know about being starstruck. Y’all should read the piece that was penned by the founder of LEAP Africa about her Bill Gates picture. No be only dem get Bill Gates pisho. The man is in many places where he invests in the US. Yes, he is not everywhere but to take pisho with am no hard like that..

  • oversabi March 14, 2016 at 2:45 am

Just have to be in the right grad school

  • swagg1 March 14, 2016 at 3:38 am

Inferiority, social climber and attache, when the hell did Bill gate become a sudden uncle? Girls, you and your parents need to develop a charity of the same magnitude as Bill Gate, instead of running a brainless blog , dee jay and looting public fund scam aka subsidy scam. Shameless ppl.

    • Wanderlust _Trekeffect March 14, 2016 at 9:34 am

Bella why do you allow comments like this? People should not feel comfortable spewing this much bile, that’s why Bella naija is losing valid members because no reasonable person wants to deal with the rigors of life only to come and interact with obviously dense embittered souls on here.
      Pls do the needful
As for the commenter I have no words to waste on you.

      • Biker Chic March 14, 2016 at 11:58 am

Which one is valid members? You guys complaining about the “new” BN should get over urselves. You are taking urselves too seriously. It is a blog, a free platform for crying out loud. If you are too old for something you move on. If you no longer like it here move on. You are not a share holder. Stop whinning. Some of us find this attitude irritating

      • Wanderlust _Trekeffect March 14, 2016 at 1:07 pm

Did I use the word” old or new”? Learn to comprehend what you read, by valid I refer to commenters old or new who are able to express their opinions, positive or negative without bullying or projecting their sad lives on others, you seem to be one of those. That way people can be enlightened when they come here, there is freedom of speech but there should also be caution in how we exercise it.
Tell the devil I ain’t home

      • swagg1 March 15, 2016 at 12:22 am

Its called freedom of speech, so deal with it.

  • Love March 14, 2016 at 6:33 am

There’s so much hate in the world mehn – just be happy for them and move on . Uncle bill was clearly a joke – you can’t progress hating people ?

Why is there noise about this?????? Is there something am missing?

    • Jezebel March 15, 2016 at 12:13 pm

@ Lase it’s interesting when Bill Gates met Dangote his kids did not make a big deal about it. Insert money class quote here.

  • idomagirl March 14, 2016 at 8:55 am

But Nigerians generally call older people “uncle” or “aunty”, so what’s the big deal about her saying “Uncle Bill”?

  • ajikoko March 14, 2016 at 9:00 am

  • Naveah March 15, 2016 at 1:06 pm

I’m glad you are friends with Bill Gates, Mr. Femi Otedola. This is my question though, are you following Mr. Gate’s example of selfless giving and provision for the less fortunate all over AFRICA, the United States and other places around the world? Very nice photo opportunity for you and your family but I would be more impressed if you were joining forces with him to bring about tangible change in your country. You’ve worked hard for your wealth but to whom much is given, much is expected but I don’t think this is a creed most wealthy Nigerians hold true.
And before any of you come for me, I don’t have money to give but I do give of my time volunteering.
