Here is the brand new video from Bouqui for her single entitled ‘Mo Ri Le‘. The video was shot in London, UK. The launch of the video opens a new chapter for Bouqui as its the first creative product of her new record label, Bouqui’s Place Entertainment. Congrats to her! Great to see Nigerian female rappers stepping up their game. Cant wait to see more from Bouqui, Sasha, Kel, Blaise, Munachi and all the other female rhymsters this year!

This is rubbish, junk and waste of time.
This grown woman should act her age and go back to the studio.
who go buy or listen this rubbish…i know who. herself lol
Bouqui abi u no get producer?

I am confused. They showed Nigeria, and then wrote Greenwich, London.
Bouqui is suffering from the same disease as Dare. Her video is basically trying to say “Look! There are lots of white people in my video!! Therefore, I am cool!!!”

And since when is going to WHSmith “Living it Up?”

  4. Banky

    February 19, 2009 at 12:30 am

What positive can I say about this video? This is just sad. Why Greenwich? why brent cross? why? Chai! Good song, not so good video.

Geeeez! you guyz should get over yourselves! when would we ever learn to appreciate what our fellow Nigerian’s do at home or abroad??? I bet it cost her so much (money, time and otherwise) to shoot this video. Just look at how you’ve brought her down- attacked her character and person!

And to you “Badbelle”, no offence intended but, I guess your name says it all! If it’s “rubbish, junk and a waste of time”, I suggest you put forward something better then we’ll know the true worth of your words!

Lets do our best to stop bringing Nigerian artistes down. it’s a terrible attitude to have. They’re doing their best and we all know there’s room for improvement. I suggest we lose this attitude, please!.

geez!sugarbelly you are always in arguments about white folks in videos…ahn!ahn! let these people be!!!
if we are so anti oyibo things maybe we should not go abroad for schl and we shouldnt use anything the oyibo’s invented…we shouldnt even speak english sef!

  11. Obonjor

    February 19, 2009 at 6:57 am

Sugabelly has come again. They showed London not Nigeria…look well. The fact that there’re white people in the video has already blinded your vision…as this website’s audience already knows how racist you are.

    February 19, 2009 at 7:51 am

Badbelle ure just dull. If Janet Jackson or Mariah Carey did a teenager-looking video you wont complain..but here u get mouth to call person grown

  13. Domzy

    February 19, 2009 at 10:53 am

My friend is in this video lol! But people have a point though. Going shopping in Bugsby’s way, Charlton ain’t exactly balling. Trust me I live around the corner! Also is this song supposed to be a Christian song or an ‘I’m a baller’ song? Apart from that it’s all cool. At least she’s trying….

  14. Amaka

    February 19, 2009 at 12:13 pm

I must say that I respect Nigerian artists because they are talented. Having said that, I get really PISSED OFF when I see Nigerians that put on a fake accent when they haven’t lived abroad and in alot of cases haven’t even travelled out of the country! Its beyond me and alot of non- Nigerians I know take the piss out of them. Those chicks.. Bouqui, Sasha, Kemistry need to keep it real. The fake-ass “American accent” weak and frankly downright tacky immitation of Eve the rapper is frankly..very cheap and INCREDIBLY annoying!!! Why can’t people be themselves. For instance you never see a Jamaican trying to be african so why must an african born and bred in Africa try and be whom they are not? Is anything wrong with your God given maternal tongue?

    February 19, 2009 at 2:21 pm

exactly!people should free people jo…the truth is that we are all a product of naija and western culture…
the video is not all that but there is room for improvement..but she is a nice song!
putting one’s work out doesnt equate to nasty comments

  17. LaLa

    February 19, 2009 at 4:48 pm

OMG! It looks like she shot the video at the airport. Did she even enter Greenwich sef?! Which kind visa did she get o!

  18. GeekGirl

    February 19, 2009 at 5:27 pm

its so unfair when we belittle people’s work like this..i must admit i used to be one of those people who’d go to Bella’s blog and yap stuff i didnt like..we may not like what we see, but i believe we can comment in a seemly manner…Our artistes may not have it all but they are trying their best…can u compare 9ja music industry to wat it was10 years ago…we have come a long way..there is def room for improvement but we should encourage them and not use hateful words not against critiquing but pls we should do so like educated people instead of agberos…a lot of us just sit down and criticize and we cannot even profer solutions!

  19. Haters' hater

    February 19, 2009 at 8:28 pm

You guys hate alot ……i wont even front the video was tight better than dbanj and all the breasts he throws on there. Anyways most people hate on videos cos they can’t do what these artists’ do. Bouqui’s video is impressive.

  20. Anuoluwa

    February 19, 2009 at 10:53 pm

Kemistry out of all these fake accented chicks actually LIVED abroad for many years–so lets just say she has the “entitlement” to blow…but sasha..bouqui and co??not so much

  22. Ladi

    February 20, 2009 at 3:44 am

I love the song and the video is better than ALL Dbanj and Ikechukwu ‘de-elevating women’ videos that I have seen. There is still work to be done but I’m tired of seeing women rubbing Dbanj chest….so Bouqui thanks!

  23. Sugabelly

    February 20, 2009 at 6:22 am

Oooooooooooookay. If having an intelligent opinion on the continued devaluation of Nigerians and Nigerian culture by Nigerians themselves is “racist”, then I accept.

A fake or put-on accent does NOT make you cool.
Trying to be “American” or “British” when you are NOT does not make you cool.
Shooting your video outside Nigeria does not make you cooler.
Populating your video with random white people does not make you cool.

Oh, and by the way minima, whether you’re a girl or a guy I don’t know, but I am just waiting for the day your children tell you that they don’t think they are not as good or as beautiful or as worthy because they are not white. I hope it’s an eye opening experience for you. I hope your children all grow up with a lowered opinion of themselves as human beings because all around them they saw their fellow Nigerians repeatedly choose white and other non-Nigerian people over people that looked like them, and I pray to God that they hate themselves for being Nigerian and black. I pray to God that when your children are born within Nigeria’s borders they curse you for not giving birth to them abroad. I pray they curse you for marrying a Nigerian and condemning them to a life lived as Nigerians and not as people light and bright and white.

Yeah, go on. Keep reinforcing in the minds of Nigerian children everywhere that Nigeria and Nigerians are NOT good enough. Gee, EVERYONE knows that Nigeria is a crappy hell hole, and all Nigerians are worthless ugly pieces of shit, or at least this is what your darling Bouqui, Dare, and a number of other Nigerian artists would have us believe.

You just go on supporting those that subtly feed this message into your children’s brains. I pray you live long to see the devastating effects it will have on all your descendants.

Yeah, anyone with an opinion that is not slavishly worshipping at the altar of whiteness is reverse racist or a hater. Why don’t you take your “haterade” and stick it where the sun don’t shine.

I write my comments for the children of Nigeria, not for you. So screw you.

  26. minima

    February 20, 2009 at 1:34 pm

lol.. “screw you”???? thats quiet unnecessary!
Dont waste your prayer on begging God for my kids to hate themselves or to curse i will pray to God to forgive you..cos u obviously dont know the magnitude of what you just typed…it really hadn’t reached that stage for you to insult anybodies unborn children at all…..and my comment didnt warrant this at all…but i thank God for he protects me and my family from curses and evil.I aint even mad at you i am a bit surprised at your reply…
i actually read your blog, i am a blogger as well, and i have you on my blogroll and i actually have admired your fearlesness but girl you got to chill….Goodluck in life…. u need it!
and if u want to reply to this feel free to waste ur time…cos i am done with this post

  27. Anuoluwa

    February 20, 2009 at 3:04 pm

    Damn Sugabelly
    was this REALLY necessary?
CURSING someones children(Whether unborn,i dont know)
speaking negative unto generations yet unborn?
are you so wicked or blinded by what you believe?
That you HAD to go so far?
wow,i actually always liked your guts etc..but there is a very thin line between beign fearless and turning into a prophetess of doom via the net.
What did minima do to really warrant you going this far?
    i am shocked.
so you always champion the cause of we nigerians/blacks appreciating what we are about more etc…BUT…damn,im lost for words…
I will tell you for free you really need to ask God for forgiveness because the curses you so freely threw about under whatever guise has already been written in the bible..that curses causeless shall not alight…so all the gibberish you just spewed on here…girl just go and seek forgiveness,,infact who are you to just decide that because someone disagrees with you curses come next..have you finished or even started praying for more important things?
its a total stranger on the net that you choose to battle with and trhow God in the mix also.
Atimes people just go too far.It might not matter to you,but i was one of those who loved your blog..but nah…im so over you.your attitude is so bad.

i applaud you for the maturity you exhibited….and YES you truly are covered. All this e-curses mean nothing..i just shudder when i listen to and read what people say/do so carelessly without thinking it might backfire…spiritual things are not stuff to be messed with.My dear, keep doing you…u are a very mature person and GOD bless you and all your descendants.

  28. Sugabelly

    February 20, 2009 at 6:02 pm

@ Anuoluwa and Minima: I’m assuming neither of you caught the sacarsm, so I’ll elaborate. I wasn’t cursing Minima/minima’s children/anybody. I was pointing out the effects that the media can have mentally/subconsciously on children.

In other words what I was trying to say was you would not wish for your children to grow up thinking less of themselves so why support artists and other celebrities that make videos that propagate the idea that our (Nigerian) children are not as good as others?

Obviously sacarsm isn’t your strong suit so perhaps I shouldn’t have laid it on so thickly. I shouldn’t have said ‘screw you’ either. I was upset, so now, I apologise.

There is no such thing as an e-curse, so I wouldn’t take anything too seriously. If you are offended, then understanding the distress that perceived ‘curses’ can cause our people, from one Nigerian to another, I am sorry.

That being said, I still do not support Bouqui’s video, and I still do not think it is healthy for the psyche of Nigerians anywhere. Bouqui needs to come up with some new ideas.

I never bother to be cognizant of the so call critics, because they never dream of achieving anything in their lifes. So to see them having beef about good stuff shows what they are made up. i think is a wast of time to respond to what haters are saying because they are going no where. the truth of the matter is nigeria music industry is thriving very high and to see a lady who is still new in the industry come out with this video i’m proud of her.. Ko so oro mo joo !
