To Cherish Forever: Babi Balogun & Motunrayo Awosika Wed
Sometimes love develops from the most simple scenario. Babi Balogun and Motunrayo Awosika were introduced by a mutual friend and soon after their first meeting – they were having long in-depth conversations everyday and spending lots of quality time together. For Motunrayo, there was something immensely special about Babi that made him realize that she was the one he wanted to spend his life with. Months later, Motunrayo popped the question in front of his family and there , he and Babi’s the journey to the altar began. The couple celebrated their traditional wedding on the 23rd of December 2009 at the Yoruba Tennis Club in Onikan, Lagos. On that day, the bride was dressed in white and gold iro and buba accessorized with beautiful yellow gemstone accessories. The colours of the day were pink and purple and their engagement venue shone brightly in the gleaming colours.
Babi & Motunrayo’s white wedding took place on the 26th of December 2009 at St. David’s Church in Lafiaji, Lagos with the reception at the Muson Centre in Onikan. One word can be used to describe the beautiful day – Classic! The colours for the wedding were gold and ivory and this created a beautiful template for the hall, cake, bridesmaids and guests. Babi was so gorgeous in her strapless wedding dress with a jewelled waistline by Rosetta Nicolini. She paired her dress with a jewel hairpiece, classic mantilla veil and for the church service – a lace bolero by MAI. The groom was dressed in a classic grey long coat suit. As they danced and celebrated with their friends and family at the reception, it was clear that this was indeed a splendid beginning for a special couple.
Such a beautiful wedding! We wish Babi & Motunrayo a blessed and favour-filled life together.
