      October 28, 2011 at 12:42 am

Wow. Just when I thought those dresses were hideous. One man’s meat is another man’s poison sha…

Only Eku and Kike (stylebyqueens) look good. There should be bouncers at these events so send awfully/boringly dressed people home. Kai!

  5. Chi-ka

    October 27, 2011 at 5:44 pm

That teenage girl that owns the design in pics 5 and 6 is good mehn, I would totally wear that! Saw her audition video and her sketches are really nice! Thumbs up to LFDW!

      October 28, 2011 at 8:46 am

……and if only it was the real stuff,we would understand and say hes using his £450 quid from the belt

  8. Ndidi

    October 27, 2011 at 6:02 pm

To some of the attendees and their choice of outfits, all I can ask is -WHY? I know it was a fashion event, but still, WHY????

  9. Nma

    October 27, 2011 at 6:07 pm

Is it just me or is Naija becoming overly obsessed with fashion. Everyone and their momma is a designer and at the drop of a hat there is a fashion show/ event/ launching somewhere at the corner. Another obsession too is pageantry….there are a million and one different pageants these days, it deosn’t even make sense..and i’m beginning to think its a business venture for these organizers to extort money from these young girls looking to “come up” in the society.

    • coco

      October 27, 2011 at 6:48 pm

I absolutely agree – but you seem to forget that the options are limited for these folks… Its unfortunate that our creativity is only limited to glamour – But then again what else is available for them to do in a country where it’s leaders don’t support/develop science, art, tourism, health care ……and the list goes on

    • nuellla!

      October 27, 2011 at 9:00 pm

my thoughts exactly!!!… so the younger generation grows up yearning to be a fashionister at all cost …..ignoring other productive areas not highlighted…pls lets highlight does other areas… enuf of this madness…for every 10 posts… 8 are about fashion and d remaining 2… relationship 🙁

Love seeing what goes on backstage especially with the models and their transformations. I’d like to see Nigerian designers taking more ownership of the decor and design of the actually runway, it’s visually stimulating and really sets the tone of the collection if done correctly. It should enhance the designs rather than detract from them. We live our lives in different settings, home, school work etc, why shouldn’t our fashion be presented in one? A stark white ramp isn’t always best.

    • xxx

      October 31, 2011 at 3:11 pm

He’s a stylist, duh! What’s so random about that? Where else will he be. He is obviously scouting for something unique, new or inspirational. Or would you rather he was at a cow milking festival. hiss…

In the name of Fashion, please tell naija boys to stop wearing cardigan in 32degress heat. Fashion is meant to flow with the weather, your age and general personality, not just trying to where what everyone is wearing. Usually dnt comment, but i just feel the need to dis time, cause i am tired of seeing all these people MI and rest in leather jackets and cardigan on stage, sweating like xmas goat. Nigeria is hot, hot and hot, waer something light that keeps u cool.
