err. what did we just watch?
am i the only one that didn’t understand it. Lynxx, oreka, beverly nd ebuka canoodling and wetin come happen? whats the story line?
geez! someone enlighten me pls. how does L’espace come in?
Blind celebrity endorsement,if you ask me. we saw the celebrities face, but nothing was said or shown about the brand itself except the logo shown randomly at the beginning and end of the film.
Who the hell was the director?

the director just did opax!!! this commercial makes absolutely no sense…if you go by what a tv commercial is supposed to deliver, which is for the consumers to take action…tis is a mere short film or some sort of hype material…not a commercial…thank you!

LMAO! Here’s what I got from this and what I think they’re trying to say: They were all dressed really well. So I guess the way you dress brings some sort of class into your life. I think they emphasize the clothing thing when Beverly can’t decide on what to wear. Or maybe I’m just trying too hard to understand, lol. Either way, they all look good and it’s nice entertainment. You may not get the video but you’ll probably remember it the next time you hear L’espace. I guess it’s just a teaser to get people to know their name.

Guys need to go back to the drawing board and add some narration. Had to guess at what they were advertising. A nice hotel? Retsurant? Marriage counselling… Could be anything

December 23, 2011 at 12:03 pm
Totally agree! Hot guys and pretty babes but based on this video no one can tell what the heck they are advertising!

Gotta love how we’re all professionals now, everyone attempting to critique media like experts haha 🙂 (I’m not assuming that you’re not a professional o btw lol).
Despite any flaws, one thing is certain : This advert has effectively delivered the name ” L’Espace ” to Nigerian Cyber Citizenry and maybe they indeed set out working against being put in a specific box. This allows the advert to be relevant long after L’Espace may have moved on from their initial entrepreneurial endeavour (fashion and lifestyle retail) to another.
Also, like many lifestyle outlets, they’ve endeavoured to transcend the label of being just a retail store.

The end product is for the consumer and the consumer is saying the message is lost on them. Long term objectives aside, consumers need to know what they are being invited to spend their money on TODAY. L’espace can produce the “marriage counseling ” advert when that becomes part of their offering.

So what is L’espace and what exactly are they advertising? I’m a layman so I will hit up Wiki for a definition:
“Advertising is a form of communication used to encourage or persuade an audience (viewers, readers or listeners) to continue or take some new action.”
And the resulting action we should take? Continue to appreciate Orekas utter and undisputed sexiness?

LOL @ Marriage Counseling. I agee with u tho. I actually watched the video before reading Bella’s description and i thought it was an advert for a resort….plus the name (L’escape) made it seem more like so.
Nice concept…but it needs a bit more focus.

Good idea, but they should’ve rehearsed a little more before taping. The wardrobe scene could have been better in slow motion. The host couple didn’t act natural. 🙂

Ah! Just a little bit of tidying up and this wouldve been perfect. So they get all dressed up to….??? And the end looks like they didn’t have enough flutes even though it could be that the host lady doesn’t drink… Good job still.

i love naija…same 5-7 people, get all the opportunities and overexposure. you must roll in a certain click to get opporunties in that lagos else you are almost hopeless. that said, these folks thinks that just slapping Ebuka, Lynxx, Oreka in there is dope enough. errrrm…epic fail. i dont get what you are advertising besides showing us your already overexposed friends. try again. toodles!

It’s not that complicated. Cute people wearing cool stuff and hanging out. The music was awful, the acting was not to great. But the concept is pretty clear. Don’t why people are complaining about confusion.

Okay so are they trying to depict a lifestyle other that just clothes? It’s neither here nor there. I agree with someone who said they would have rehearsed more and maybe they would have added more “flesh” to the story line. But in all, it’s a new direction for the Nigerian fashion/entertainment scene. Well done.

December 25, 2011 at 5:58 pm
@non professional opinion … You said it right. If the consumer does not “get it” then any $10million is as good as a hanging pant. As much as BN readers (myself included) sometimes air opinions just for the sake of airing something, when people honestly say they cannot understand a message, then perhaps the messenger needs to reword/ rephrase.

From the ad I understand that it is trying to portray a certain lifestyle, clothes or fashion but it doesn’t relate to anything shopping experience though.
However I do not know if the ladies read all of these comments (which is sort of public opinion) before they launch on TV. I’m sure they can improve on this ad.

December 28, 2011 at 4:26 pm
LOOOL I’m tempted to call anyone that didn’t understand this ad a Dundee United fan…L’Espace is a fashion retail store….the ladies were trying out n displaying clothes from there…..simple, short, on point…a 4 year old in yankee will even understand it *sigh*
lami
December 29, 2011 at 5:12 pm
why not have both ladies go to a L’Espace store and pick out dresses from various collection in d store for dinner with their men, and since u av so much time on your hands you could show d ladies get ready and show each man’s reaction after he sees his lady. End it with four of them on a dinner table toasting to the “good life” and a catch phase at the end like ” L’Espace, Love, Passion,Fashion……”

December 28, 2011 at 5:36 pm
