Oh wow, that was painful to watch! OMG Toke! May God forgive u o. Gosh does he not actually get it? Funny enough tho dude’s probably gonna smile to d bank big time with his ‘sensational’ music. BN una sef join!
Vic O norring do u, carry go jare!

  9. Shame!

    December 13, 2011 at 8:35 pm

    This is plain mean.

The interviewer could have asked him straightforward questions (e.g “where do you get your style inspiration?”‘ otito) to let him fall on his sword and make us wonder why he talks in the manner that he does.

But the constant baiting and gassing up.. (“you’re so stylish and well put together”, Really? That’s your honest opinion? May your husband not dress like him.)… not cool.

Bad taste and poor journalism. I expect better from Bella Naija. If sincerity and decency is too much to ask for, how about a little journalistic integrity?

Na wa o, all this BN upholding intergrity is becoming highly irritating. When did BN become Time magazine or CNN????? Na entertainment website biko!!!!! If you find that hard to understand I beg start your own website. Shikena.

The only funny thing in this entire video is that the interviewer and producers saw an easy target and took it. I’m actually embarrassed for the interviewer. How unprofessional. Sure, it’s easy to take easy shots at someone like Vic O but they didn’t have to. The interview was very condescending and it was so obvious what was being done. Rather, they could have used this opportunity to really get to know more about him….
Truly shameful. I’d be sooo embarrassed to conduct this type of sham interview. Doesn’t look good on the producers and interviewer. Do better next time. Hold yourselves to some standard.

      Well said.

    • Dee-USA

      December 13, 2011 at 10:45 pm

Exactly what I was thinking. Only thing I disagree with is taking the time to really know him. I wouldn’t have done the interview period! I’d rather quit than be subjected to this. And to have her lying about how he’s a great rapper (according to what he says or whatever it is she said) and gloating on him was ridiculous. In case she didn’t notice, it doesn’t work for someone who’s completely oblivious to what your intent is. But I agree, in a bid to make fun of him, she sabotaged her professionalism and actually ended up looking like a joke herself. Besides the fact that she was clearly distracted by the whole situation as well and kept looking off camera to the crew (a no-no for on air interviewers).

    December 13, 2011 at 9:36 pm

I’ll repeat here what I said on Twitter.

Flytime shouldn’t have done this. This interview was clearly intended to make fun of him. He wasn’t speaking like he thought it was a joke. He was pouring out his heart, regardless of poor diction or whatever we might think is wrong with him. He is passionate about what he does and he believes in himself, that alone is enough to applaud any man.

If you think he is not serious, check your own twitter followers and see if you have up to 2900. Show me where you have your own video on YouTube with over 1000 views. Better still, let me know if you are being paid to perform at Rhythm Unplugged on Sunday.
Anyone can hide behind a computer screen and say whatever they like here. Truth is Vic.O is doing what most of us have not found the courage to do regardless of how silly it may look or sound: HE IS FOLLOWING HIS DREAM.

As for Flytime Ent., shame on you!

    I rest my case…

BN, please post my comment. Thank you!

    • Chi-ka

      December 13, 2011 at 9:47 pm

      Please excuse any gbagaun lol.

    • Beverly

      December 13, 2011 at 9:57 pm

You are excused.Totally co-sign. The longer I watched, the more it went from being funny to being unnecessary. Vic.O knows how he sounds. That was just plain mean spirited.

  13. stian

    December 13, 2011 at 10:14 pm

honestly… Vic.o is popular because of all this!.. before hearing about this video i had no idea whatsoever who he was.. so d guy is just getting free publicity.. now i honestly believe he knows he doesnt make good music but is doing it anyways.. If he gets pad to play at concerts some people listen to him.. it depends on the mind of the watcher of this interview.. if you think he is been taken on a ride then you dont appreciate his music or his person at all.. i on the other hand watched it without knowing him and thought what horrible music.. but perhaps some people out there that might have bumped their heads as kids as well listen to him… ‘heyo heyo heyo!….lol, im out!

    December 13, 2011 at 11:03 pm

what’ sup with this santimonious nonsense on BN lately? Geez…lighten up folks. Vic O himself is enjoying all the attention so pray tell how you think Toke or Flytime is being mean? i guess when its not star studded with banky W and co, to you it’s unfair and boring abi? I find Vic o entertaining sha. hahahhahah

  17. peju

    December 13, 2011 at 11:14 pm

i was wondering what followership meant tooo! nigerians shaa cant speak english! period!! it really doesnt matter if he has 1million followers! alot of people follow him cos of this maddness just so they can laugh @ him. not really for positive reasons! this interview was not neccessary period! very bad!

      December 14, 2011 at 10:41 pm

says the person who spells ‘a lot’ as ‘alot’. Primary school error

  18. Bey

    December 13, 2011 at 11:25 pm

The fact is that there will always be Vic O’s in this world and pple like him actually do have their ‘followership’. Just like some of the Nollywood films we’re always bashing are highly prized somewhere else. And like someone said at least Vic O had the guts to at least follow his dreams unlike some that sit at their PC and diss artists and actors in Naija all day. I am surprised BN decided to put it on her site tho but for every click we give the video, the young man believes his the best thing since sliced bread. SMH

But he doesn’t seem like he suffers from any disorder or am I wrong???? Because after watching that music video that was posted above, Sheeeeeeeeeeeeet men!!!

smh, I just wasted 2 mins of my life I can never get back on this clown……what a joke, I guess the nigerians trapped in italy need some form of entertainment which he’s providing…lmao

  27. Jah

    December 14, 2011 at 4:51 am

I really hate this interview because it lacks professionalism. It’s funny that the intention was to make a mockery of this guy but everyone who agreed to be a part of this interview are now the clowns.
There are better ways to conduct an interview with guests like these without looking this unprofessional. I’m disappointed that people think this foolishness is O.K. Clearly, Vic. O’s passion is making music and we all know it is not his calling. We know that this ish aint for him! However, there is more to this man who is determined and pushing to be something. Why not ask him reasonable questions that focus on his life and what he thinks about his critics and so on? Instead of being sarcastic and asking him questions whether he sees himself winning a Grammy award, etc. The hell?
I have so much to say but I know say Bella no go post am. This interview lacks taste!

  28. Funmie

    December 14, 2011 at 6:26 am

Toke, this is not nice and very very unprofessional…. Vic O isn’t the best but he doesn’t deserve this….he is ignorant! Yes i agree. But 2 wrongs don’t make a right.
you all are just making the guy bigger…. Negative publicity is still PUBLICITY just so y’ll know…

  29. Funmie

    December 14, 2011 at 6:32 am

Please kindly ignore my previous comment…. i took this to heart but this is obviously a BIG ASS JOKE as Vic O himself is laughing. #okbye

    December 14, 2011 at 9:35 am

This is just sad how someone who we can see is singing absolute rubbish and is getting media attention. I blame twitter though.. thats where it all started.. Oh well, his trips is making money for him. I think he is gonna perform at rhythm unplugged as well. (n)

  31. wahala

    December 14, 2011 at 10:10 am

there is no difference between Vic o and most of the Nigeria artists making fun of him, he even gets more attention than most of them…Vic o’s songs is a true reflection of how some nigerian artists really sound….

  32. Ada

    December 14, 2011 at 10:31 am

Prior to this interview if you have never heard of vicO truth is you were not going to get it. Why did you watch it? Really? If Toke asked the questions you stated I bet you wouldn’t watch it. He knows he is funny, he is going places check the YouTube post he has had almost 10thousand visitors. Why get all sentimental? It ain’t that serious. He wants the attention. Controversy sells if you haven’t realized then you probably would never get it. VicO gets it, he agreed to the interview, he had a right to walk out this is what he wanted and he has gotten it.i am a huge fan right now.
There are a lot of them all over the world. See flavourflav, he had his own reality tv show in the end and had mad views, you think he doesn’t know people laugh at him..VicO wants to make people laugh he gets rich of that. Pls keep your mouth shut!

  33. Girl1

    December 14, 2011 at 11:04 am

Abeg everyone should chill. Vic O sees the negative comments on youtube, he got that Toke was having a laugh at some points. He loves the attention and hes not about to stop cos of one interview so please fall back. It wasnt mean-spirited and she did an excellent job. How many of yall coulda done that without laughing out loud?

  34. adenike

    December 14, 2011 at 11:49 am

I saw the ‘After Party’ video for the very first time yesterday afternoon and i was really aghast. I think this charade has to stop. Y’all can’t keep leading the poor dude on. My boyfriend’s younger brother attended a house party the night Vic-O flew into Nigeria and he was paid over N1m to come perform (the dude shelling out the money said Vic-O is a comic relief to him and he should come make people laugh with his horrible music). My point is this, Vic-O will continue doing this(music) and he’ll always think himself great if we’re not careful. That’s why we keep churning out mediocre artistes everyday. As for the interview, I honestly have nothing to say to the crew. But we just need to stop leading the poor lad on. If you think Vic-O knows he’s been led on-you lie. He said in the interview that he sounds like Tupac and ‘Aru Kelly’; goes to show dude doesn’t even know what he sounds like to start with. He doesn’t know one bit. He’s the opposite of paranoia-he’s disillusioned thinking people love him+his music.
By the way, those telling others to chill need to be mature and get a grip. Aren’t we free to express our opinions anymore?

  35. YK

    December 14, 2011 at 11:54 am

At least Vic is speaking with his real accent. Toke Makinwa is faking british accent-Naija born and bred o!!! UNILAG!

I dont see the differnce between him and 50 cent, rick ross, TI and co. its just that they have their nice accent. They chat the same rubbish in their perfect produced music. 50cent talkin about candy shop= vic o’s after party. I dont blame 5ocent either, all these guys are making money through the way they want. the mighty KRS one went bankrupt after making millions of dollars. That’s is more stupid than anything about Vic O. All Vic O neds is a good PR team and promoter that can refine him.I hope someone gets my point.

Comic relief. But I like the guy. He is unpretencious. As an interviewer Toke did a good job but one suggestion: maintain one accent! She seemed to think she was from Oyo… -ehm, I mean England- halfway through the interview. Totally unnecessary since she’s never lived in England over a long period. That said, good job here. Toke has come a lonnnng way, infact I’m in favor of an feature titled ‘Evolution of The Makinwa Sisters: The Ope & Toke Story. Home Habilis has nothing on them.

sensational! my God! who would’nt want to know Vic O! oh my God, ho…he is so good! Wow! unlike lady gaga, he really wants to look more like a man. MY LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN!!! By the way is he is Italy or is he in Rome. Thank you for your hard work!

This guy just wants to be heard and he is actually getting succesful with it. Vic O slated for concert. He doesnt care what you say or think about him. He sees opportunities and attempts them rather than some wey dey yab wey no even know wetin dem wan become in life. Do you know how many views he’s had on youtube? He dey make him money una dey yab. When BN shares videos and songs una go dey yab. Wetin una want sef? VIC-O, Why evils? #Enigma

  60. Tomi

    December 15, 2011 at 9:33 pm

How is her accent fake? Bet why evils. I watched and watched over again she is just articulate. I think she said break it into on purpose cos its obv VicO and his style men when people are living the dream some people are awaiting the downfall why? It’s so sad. You guys should applaud bellanaija, Flytime, and Toke Makinwa. It takes great skill to hear something doesn’t sound right but she dd not judge. She as given him a platform guys. One that might actually help his career well I hope as a comedian cos he is funny. Very funny. Just looking at him s funny. So why the hate comments. Why abuse people that work hard. If you dont get the irony you wont get it ever.
I wish people just wished everyone well.
Toke Makinwa welldone. I pray your career soars to greater heights. Plus you are so pretty. I love love love all I’ve seen. Goodluck
