Here’s the official press release:

“Where can you find a medley of covers ranging from The Jackson Five to Alicia Keys’s “Falling”, from Mary J. Blige’s “I’m Going Down” to Janet Jackson’s “Again” all the way through to Nigeria’s very own Banky W.’s “Don’t Break My Heart”? On this week’s session of Acoustics with Lami, the Heartbreak Medley brought to you in partnership with Classic FM 97.3 premiered as always on the Classic Lounge with Buki Sawyerr Izeogu.

The unscripted experiment continues as our queen of soul takes on a medley of vocally challenging covers and sounds positively angelic. You can’t help but fall in love with her voice all over again as Lami proves once again with this inspiring session why many call her the queen of soul.

Every week, for the next four months, Lami will share excerpts of her sessions with us while changing the themes every month; we already can’t wait to see what else Lami will have in store for us.”

"What do you really do for a living any way?", "Your face looks familiar. Was it on TV?" These questions follow me around everyday. Why don't you join them. Instagram | Twitter: @Onos_

THIS IS THE WORST TAKE ON THOSE SONGS EVER! Why? Why do these people keep going into the music business when they can’t sing. Her intro was all over the place. It sucked. Who TOLD HER THIS WAS OKAY TO PUT OUT THERE. She should stick to the stuff she usually does. NOT THIS!

Sounds like karaoke to me….truly an unscripted experiment. Lamide, simple piece of advice and I say this with the best of intentions, music may not be your calling. I like to sing is different from I can sing. I think you should consider working behind the scenes if you are really that into music, probably production or whatever it is that is done between the studio and when the songs get out, but on the microphone…..I don’t think so. Alternatively you may consider forming your own band, that way you get to sing at weddings and other events.

Actually love the Billy Holiday feel of her voice.

    • What rubbish

      June 27, 2013 at 7:04 pm

DO NOT INSULT BILLY HOLIDAY! She is a true great. Lami is at best a mediocre back up voice in a choir.

Simon Cowell won’t like this…he will think its pitchy…seriously though, her voice is more like Anita Baker and Tracy Chapman….tenor like eclectic voice….so she won’t sound great singing soft treble like songs…
