Another week, another day and another stylish look from Nkiru Anumudu.

On Day 2 of the just concluded 2013 GTBank Lagos Fashion and Design Week, BellaNaija Style spotted Nkiru Anumudu serving her best red carpet pose in couture.

The Lagos style star took to the black carpet in a checkered dress from the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 collection.

Marc Jacobs‘ S/S 13 checkered collection was big hit in Hollywood. Kerry Washington, Miranda Kerr, Jessica Alba, Kristen Stewart and Fan Bingbing are all fans of the collection. Now you can add Nkiru Anumudu to the list.

She styled the grey-and-silver dress with an Avant-garde Alan Journo red Cherry hat, a light brown snakeskin clutch, a cocktail ring and a pair of white platform sandals.

Her look was completed with her signature long fringe blonde locks, smokey eyes and light pink lipstick.

Nkiru Anumudu isn’t the first to rock this Alan Journo headpiece. In September 2010, Editor-at-large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan Anna Dell Russo was seen in the hat at the Milan Fashion Week.

Hmmm…dunno about the hair accessory but as long as it
rocks her boat it’s fine. I believe one can wear anything, as long
as you are comfortable in it and you’re not indecently dressed, so
when I show up at work tomorrow with agbalumo on my head, a la
    Roberto Cavalli…….. *tongue out* 🙂

Hi Meah, Marc Jacobs was the creative Director for Louis Vuitton. He recently left the Parisian label.

I knew it Dami. You have been hiding under the name Bellanaija in your post. Your analysis and descriptions have been giving u away. 😛 😀

@Meah, information is not ur enemy …… Marc Jacobs is the brain behind Louis Vuitton even though he still has his own brand

Oh, Nikky. This time, I can’t really champion your cause as the cherries, clutch and shoes aren’t working for me as the best accessories for your look. The dress is lovely, though.

no hating….but this dress would be better suited for a younger, trimmer lady. Lovely dress though – I looks very 60’s. I wonder where I can get a similar one without the hefty price tag?

If she wore the headpiece to churhc(other than harvest sunday) or to a business meeting or to a wedding, then you should be concerned.

It is a fashion show. Fashion shows are all about creativity, fun, pushing the limits. It’s a time to bring out those exceptional, out of the ordinary pieces you can’t rock everyday.

      i agree…

    • Mz Socially Awkward...

      October 29, 2013 at 4:22 pm

But fashion is also about coherence. It doesn’t all have to match but the pieces you’ve put together should be working together as part of one outfit, not each piece standing out independent of the other. There’s something which doesn’t work with all the accessories she paired with that dress. Maybe if the length of the dress was shorter (smock dresses can be tricky, sometimes they make you look quite broad/stocky) and the shoes were less chunky…

thats my God mother , hell no she uses no tailor , all her clothes are bought from the designers she lovees, her dress sense doesnt need to appeal you , as far as she is making a statement and she is comfortable with what she is wearing .. Your opinion dont matter .

    • Aibee

      October 29, 2013 at 5:03 pm

Okay we have heard. Thanks for the information. At least now we know she is your godmother, our lives are richer for that information abi? First it was shoe, then pine apple and now it a cherry that looks like an apple. Tell your godmother we said whatever rocks her boat maami.

Just cant stop laughing over the 2 apples on her head… on a serious note i commend her boldness though. But u wont catch me wearing apples on my head in a million yrs… Lol, for wetin na. Fashion or no fashion somethings ‘re strictly meant for the runway cos some of those designs ‘re simply not wearable. A friend told me a long time ago ” No be everything wey person see for runway person dey run go store or online buy put for body all in the name of fashion.”

    October 29, 2013 at 6:59 pm
