#ignorancealert! Can someone please explain to me how all these sleep outside, mountain climbing, Cape to Cairo cycling fundraising campaigns work as in how do they raise the money? Are they sponsored to do what they are doing or what? Sorry oh I am more familiar with the bowl in hand kind of begging whether it’s done on the street or via proposals or through social media

Lmaooo. Its usually sponsored. Most of the time you set up a page with the charity org, and ask people to sponsor you. If you raise the targeted amount of money then you have to do the challenge. Bowl in hand is pretty effective as well.

@ Chic, yes they are sponsored by individuals and companies . eg YMCA sleep easy. It is a fundraising initiative aimed at raising money to help change lives of vulnerable young people sleeping rough. As an individual , you can take part by registering with YMCA and asking friends or writing to companies to sponsor you for an amount of money. If your sponsor agrees, you spend a night outside and the sponsor pays the money directly to the YMCA which will provide local projects to help get people off the streets.

Pls share your endometriosis stories @ Let’s beat endo together !

I’m glad people have plans for the homeless and I pray they are able to raise the money. if it was Nigeria now, I wouldn’t bother because the money won’t get to the appropriate hands. Naija we hail thee
