Do you have the stats to back up what you typed about a majority using phones? Or Bella Naija do you have the stats?

Wow, this is great! I totally love the “stripped” idea. I am looking forward to seeing more of this. It is good to see people comfortable in their own skin , despite the flaws they may have. You are beautiful Eku and I agree with a lot of what you said especially the part on not using so much skin product.

I have been natural (my hair), for about 4 years now and didn’t start taking care of it properly until late last year. I have noticed a lot of changes – smoother face, faster hair growth (my pubes included), less dry skin and many more. I am a believer of experimenting and seeing what works for you rather than following what everyone does/uses.

I am really impressed with this, Eku. Hopefully, this inspires many more people, especially women to come out in their natural state. You don’t need to wear all the make up in the world to be beautiful. I love that Eku’s make up is as natural as possible – she doesn’t look like a different person without make up.

Makeup and photoshop hides a multitude of sins. Not starting the light skinned dark skinned argument because I am a light skinned babe but when guys get so crazy about light skinned girls I tell you they need to watch this video to see the reality. Outside of the makeup many of us, yes myself included are not so special. My dark skinned girlfirneds can go out of the hosue bare faced and run errands and stuff and still look presentable while doing it. I wouldn’t dare because scrub all that off and mehn the same guy who probably eyed me at the coffee shop the day before will pass me by without thinking twice.

      February 21, 2014 at 2:58 pm

Really? People say I am light skinned and I wear absolutely no make-up on a normal day. Lip-gloss sef na wahala, yet I still get hits *wink*. Are you sure it isn’t more about what you are used to i.e. If you are used to wearing make-up, you feel naked without it and v versa?

I think she looks pretty without make-up too.

      February 21, 2014 at 6:59 pm

u r right. i’m mixed race, and i try to get a tan whenever i can with my sun protection in my pocket of course.some very light skinned girls/ mixed race girls tend to be very pale, and being pale is not good for anyone. dark skinned women look much better with little or no makeup. the worst people to see without makeup are the bleachers, god help your soul…all those green, purple veins, brown/dark skin around the eyes, black lips, moustache look from hydroquinone and very dull complexion.

dead @ God bless your soul…am chocolate yum yum and true that i don’t wear make up and i always look good…but los angeles sun can be a biaaatch sometimes a bipolar biaaatch that the sun may just come out tomorrow and bet your dollars it wont be nice not to have sunscreen/block on your hands.

Yay! Congrats on going natural girl. You can do it!
Em, tbqh, I think Eku is a beautiful girl but I feel she often looks pale. This picture is one of the best ones I’ve seen and also the video. Maybe it’s her makeup artists but they make her look whiter and paler than this.

Why does she pronounce her name like that , She should know the proper way to pronounce her name Eku………. She is named after the village where her grandfather and mum comes from and that is not how to pronounce it

i like her, but i think in terms of looks, she’s just ok. beautiful is too much a word to use in describing her.

    February 21, 2014 at 6:56 pm

st ives scrub is the cheapest and best exfoliator. i applaud eku edewor for doing this because it’s not easy seeing as she has an acne problem (which a lot of women are ashamed about) and she’s pale without makeup. i just wish she would gain like 5-10kg and get a bit tanned, she’d look much better, she’s very skinny. e

Yep cause that’s what I use.I dnt have acne but little spots on my face am darkskinned. Acne comes during the red robot days, and goes after.I think we ladies should use less make up sha.

      February 22, 2014 at 10:50 pm

obviously you are the average nigerian kiss ass soo eager to place your lips on EKU’s ass on the internet. the fact is laser can be used for the treatment of acne and acne scars, the type of scars that are present on her cheeks. so please the next time you hurry and purse your lips to kiss some socialite booty, u should think of using GOOGLE. <==== THIS SAME COMMENT APPLYS TO U ALSO.

Na wah o! Everything is now on the internet. Washing ur face is now called been stripped? That’s not what I know been stripped means. No that I was expecting her to be actually stripped. But what’s fantastic about showing us ur bare face, is that also a talent? I am not hating pls, just observation from my own lens.

  25. Saint tracy

    February 21, 2014 at 10:36 pm

Ok so stripped means washing ur face? That’s not what I was taught, not that I was expecting her to but u never know. Is this 1 also a talent? Is it everything we will put on the internet n it’s news worthy? No hating, but we are the ones that will control the kind of info we put up for every1 to read n watch.

    • sefi-ann

      February 22, 2014 at 12:43 am

shut up, stripped as in stripped of makeup i.e. au naturel. i.e. she has no makeup on her face. How many women do you know that can allow themselves to be recorded without any make up, talk less of entertainers/media personalities. It takes a certain level of confidence so yes its news worthy. Again, please shut up.

    • Saint tracy

      February 22, 2014 at 6:19 pm

So what are u expecting? Use the same type of words u used back to u? Not going to happen. Can’t come down to ur level. I hope u don’t raise kids with harsh words like that. It shows that u can’t get a msg across with out raining abuses n insults on others. May God help u to communicate better .

    • sefi-ann

      February 23, 2014 at 6:55 am

lool @sainttracy abuses and insults? all i asked you to do for me was to shut up, hardly an abuse or insult;more like a command. Toughen up love. May God help you read/think properly before you type.

Laser off acne? U sound uneducated. Acne is hormonial so she should laser her insides?? Think before you speak!

As of eku, she is so beautiful with or without makeup also the way ah some of you Nigerians look for the slightest thing to criticize on meanwhile u are no where perfect or better off.
Also, the way she pronounces her name shouldn’t be your problem. I pronounce my native name differently and I see no reason why I should ever be corrected . Some of you need to Learn to focus/put your energy into better things

sweety there’s something called microdebrasion or facial resurfacing laser…i use it to clear the acne marks…please take several sits and cool off somewhere. ps hormonial acne can be battle with medication BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TRUTH BOMB

  27. Lani

    February 22, 2014 at 2:22 am

It’s a great concept! Helps people to appreciate themselves more and understand that you are not alone in your battle for a clear skin. I also have/had hormonal acne. Good thing I have it under control and my skin is clear now. I also get pale but little sun exposure of course with my SPF 60, helps me with that + I drink almost 3 liters of water everyday. Water combined with exfoliating my skin, sunscreen and staying off diary has kept my skin about 90% clear. All the best eku. Such a courageous and beautiful woman.

I want to diss the photo because whatever, I’ve been in theater before, I know that it’s just a job, and they’re good at creating illusions. That’s what show-business is.

That said, Eku is a nice looking kid. And she’s aggressive enough to work on the world markets not just Naija (I wish she would, cos I’m not interested in seeing her face saturate the whole place.) And this showbiz PRing thing has made some certifiably shit-looking people into beautiful brands (at least if you go by the headlines.) If I were Eku, I’d be thinking, I’m pissed. If that…it…can be a star, can do PR and get people to start saying that she’s anything other than scary-looking and dumb and ridiculous, then you know what, screw it, me too. Eku baby, do you. You’re alright. Don’t go all fake on us. And by all means, resist the urge to oversaturate our space with shit. Thanks.

She is massively pretty. I actually prefer her without make up. Darling, there is a product here in the US called proactive for acne. Try it. I’d like to see you without make up more often and acne-free.

They say beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I do not see any beautiful or even pretty features on this girl. The only thing strikingly different about her that makes her stand out in a predominantly Black Country like Nigeria is the obvious fact dat she is mix race. Its not surprising she stands out because of her skin colour. However if she were in the states or Britain , she’ll just blend into the background unnoticed. She comes across as a beautiful person , but she ain’t no beauty queen. And people you don’t need to put all that muck, muck on your face. Eat well drink water clear skin.
