BN Beauty: “Colour Series” Monochrome Makeup | Omon of BeautyCook Studio

Omon of BeautyCook Studio - BellaNaija - April2014001

Are you ready for some amazing monochrome beauty? Doesn’t matter. We love it so much we are showing you anyways.

From Omontese Akhetuamn of BeautyCook Studio, we get the chance to see just how gorgeous monochrome makeup can truly be. The models are adorned with eccentric head pieces, fabulous matching jewellery and beautiful monochrome makeup in yellow, green, orange, pink and more.

Enjoy as she walks us through her inspiration for the shoot.

On this beautiful Sunday, I had missed mass because I had an 8AM appointment with a client. I resolved to attend evening mass so I don’t miss on my blessings and Sunday obligation.

Some time during the homily (sermon) I became distracted and kept remembering the positive comments I got on Instagram for the monochrome makeup I had done on my client that morning for her birthday thanksgiving ,

This then sparked something in me to do a monochrome inspired photo shoot of various colours. I immediately found my self reaching for a pen and note pad so I could write down every thing my spirit was telling me unless I forget, the spirit also revealed the name I should give to this collection ‘Colour Series’

As soon as I got home I called Bimbo of Tradition by Bimbs and shared my revelation, she was willing to make me new set of aso-oke gele (head-wrap) and matching beads. I decided to take the pictures my self again this time with my D7 Canon DSLR ( yeah I upgraded) that way I could be in control.

We did this shoot on 3 different days (not easy being the photographer and MUA )  *wink*

Has anyone (not Rihanna) tried walking around with blue and green lipstick? Feedback please.

Yes!!!! Black, orange and purple are my absolute favourite. The shade of purple is my everyday lippy as it is more berry than purple (Bodyshop sells it) so it works for my everyday lippy. I use my black when I want to look grungy, and when I fell like it really. The orange is a L’Oreal brand and a lip stain, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The blue not so much as I haven’t found the right shade yet, bet when I do, I will be going for it. I also have a green one, and I am considering buying white and trying out a monochrome lip one day though. one fine day.
I am glad this lady has tried out various lipsticks colour. I am tired of people looking at me and commenting on my “bohemianess” when I go out with these other lip stick colours.. God bless you Omon. Once more, GOD BLESS YOU! lol.
