Dencia: People Who Attack Skin Bleachers Have Issues | Watch!

Dencia - April 2014 - Ben TV Magazine Show - BN Movies & TV -

Dencia breaks down in an interview with Ben TV‘s “The Magazine Show“.

The Cameroonian pop star was speaking on the overwhelming support from her family.

On the show hosted by Toya A Washington, Denica defends her brand – Whitenicious, speaks on criticism from people because of the media and says skin bleaching has nothing to do with insecurities.

Although it was released in late March, we haven’t seen it on any platform yet, so we decided the share.

Check it out!

I agree – Adults should be able to make their own decision. To bleach or not to bleach, that is the question. Some people don’t have food to eat, folks on their way to work in Nyanya just got bombed away and here we are talking about the most irrelevant topic on planet earth…

If one is to go by her analogy, then she has LOW SELF ESTEEM for HIDING her black person’s hair under that WHITE PERSONS hair! To that end, she is not qualified to speak on the subject of not wanting to be BLACK*

#I’m not even going to go into all that slap she has on her face which hides her natural face

This girl is lying through her teeth. No media put your picture out. Those pictures of her dark were put out by her before her singing career set off. Nothing you put on the internet disappears and when people google you, it shows up. When she was calling herself Range Rover she had plenty of pictures online, some with Banky and other nigerian entertainers. Back then she was dark. Those are not stolen pictures or paparazzi shots. Those are pictures she had up on her social media back then. She needs to take several seats.

    Please leave Dencia alone!!!

Do not make her a scapegoat for bleaching people’s decisions to bleach. Bleaching has been going on for years and whether we like it or not will continue to happen. This whole media furore goes to show how the masses can be controlled. Talking about bleaching as an inferiority of the black person, when in all truth, the white person also has inferiorities in that they tan themselves and even have tanning salons – you need to see the number of young people using tanning salons. Some tan so cheaply that they even look ORANGE and in worse cases die of skin cancer due to over-exposure to sunshine/over-use of tanning salons.

It goes to show that man has inadequacies and it’s this strive to perfect them that is man’s undoing.

Before you all start on me, I’m proudly dark skinned and love it. Did I struggle going up with other people’s preferences for light-skinned people? Yes, I did; however, these were growing pains until I matured enough to realise that there is only one of me and to be happy with the unique me in whichever shape or form.

Additionally, parents, don’t use Dencia as a scapegoat. There are many Dencias in the world and it is not the Dencias that will influence your child to bleach, if your child’s foundation is firm and sure. A renown gynaecologist/child psychologist has demonstrated that the greatest influence in any child’s life is the parents, not PEER PRESSURE. Parents you have so much power! If you are struggling to raise your child, it’s because you’re missing information/a lack of knowledge. Find out what’s missing and apply the new knowledge with wisdom and you will see change.

I don’t agree with bleaching, just like I don’t agree with tanning, however, each to his/her own. The important thing the media should do is promote the disadvantages of bleaching/tanning to educate the masses, rather vilify one individual, which in reality is BULLYING.

You not only deserve a 1000 like but also a huge Hug at that.
I grew up the darkest kid in d neigbourhood with sun fly bite all over my skin in fact if u need a kid to recite BLACK IS A BEAUTIFUL COLOUR i was the one,My uncles were not sure i was their brother’s child as both parents were light skinned.I remember my mum taking me to the hospital for my skin problem and the doctor kept telling her i will grow out of it.
Fast forward years latter indeed i have grown out of it with a brigter and better looking skin.

If my mum could feel that way about the skin of a child how much more an adult who needs to put effort in enhancing their appearance.
Dancia should not be used as a scape goat before whitelisious was ever birthed People have gone about looking for ways to enhance their skin

      Thank you Casual Observer

My opinion is not directed to the person of Dencia in anyway.
This bleaching and other beauty stuff in my opinion, have been over flogged. We are not ignorant and have certainly been aware of the “lighter is prettier” standard that prevails in our culture today. The mainstream media, our peers and the messages we receive from our external environment has been recognized as a primary contributor to our understanding of what is beautiful in our world. For us blacks, this has caused a lot of identification crisis and reasons why we are rated less physically attractive than other races.
Take a look at the kind of women that occupy roles in television, movies and fashion today …. they have all been whites, which is seen as a representation of beauty in today’s pop culture. Even the blacks we see often have euro-centric features, such as Halle Berry, Zoe Saldana at el, which further reinforces the dominant culture beauty ideals. That was why people like Lupita represented a shift from the norm and the media is trying to rewrite and recreate a cognitive dissonance in the minds of our ladies that indeed, beauty comes in different shades. How long it will take for people to buy this thought, I don’t know.
Dencia happened to be one of many ladies who have bought into this external validation of beauty and internalized the narrowly defined conceptions, resulting in feelings of inferiority, confusion and exclusion that she and other sisters are living in. They are all living a lie.
The good thing is that our sisters are beginning to find themselves, have started to question, identify and explore the messages, standards, and images they receive that are deemed as beautiful. And they are also seeing beauty as being motivated from an internal place of health and self-acceptance.
Ladies, keep challenging these biases, just like LUPITA is doing, by broadening your definition of beauty, adopting a global perspective to balance the beauty message.
For those who are still stuck, confused and swimming in ignorance, THEY ARE YET TO FIND THEMSELVES.

I definitely agree with casual observer apart from tanning people do go under the knife to change parts of their body. Both white and black people do go to have surgery to change a part of their body either big lips, boobs, bums, jaws, eyes etc. Even most of these journalists and people in the media….so we all should not have double standards. Its a personal choice…..i believe that the media is giving this girl a platform to sell her products lol afterall.

Enough with that girl she seems smart … she has put up a product and the product is selling well white people are the ones who brought up that problem of skin colour complexity and now they want to bring down a successful girl who is bold enough to put to the market her own line of product!! Stop Stop Stop…. bleaching has always been there before her products and will always be there…. DENCIA dont get discouraged continue with the good work GO GO GO!!!!

I must say, I do understand her point. However, the issue still remains that she needs to understand what message she passes out. People might not know why or what she does, but bleaching is still an inevitable word, and people look into it. The point still remains that she her cream has a bleaching effect in which she agrees on, bleaching is still not the way forward. I do wonder why no interviewer has questioned her about her bum and breast implant though. I do also think that she bleached because there’s a thing in LA about doing so hence the bum implant

The truth is people that have issues with a person that chose to change his/her color are the people with low self esteem, its no one business. The truth is a lot a dark shin people (especially women) do have low self esteem that’s why they envy lighter skin women. bleaching cream has been here for years now so it’s ok for the white man to make it and not a black woman? Lots of white people do not like being so white so they pay thousands of dollars to tanned their color, some people get breast implant, or get other surgical procedure that’s what they want so people need stop judging others for their decisions. If you don’t want to change anything on you than do not if others want to they should.

The double standards continue. HERE IS DENCIA (BEING HEAVILY PROMOTED BY bELL ‘NO PROBLEM THERE”) promoting her gig and product (good for her)
Yet she jumps on others including Lupita for being herself. While you are offering her support, please ask her to correct the erroneous impression that she is from Nigeria. We could use one less faker

Now, I’m starting to like Dencia… She has achieved a lot for herself, considering her age. There’s nothing wrong with her product. She’s not the first to manufacture skin bleaching cream. If Whitenicious is not on the shelf, bleachers are going to pick some other skin bleaching cream, among the millions available, off the shelf. Parents should stow their fear and train their children to be confident with whom they are, and to make right choices…whatever makes them feel good about themselves.

I only have an issue with the Branding of the product… First of all,,,the name ‘Whitenicious’ is WRONG, considering that the cream is for dark spots, knuckles and all abnormal dark areas on the skin, etc,,,which is what she’s promoting (or trying to promote at least)… Secondly, Dencia shouldn’t have been the face of the product, considering that she is spotlessly bleached, if the intention is not to promote skin bleaching… Thirdly,,,is there no PUBLICIST for ‘Whitenicious’? Cause clearly, Dencia does not know how to promote her product and take the public’s attention off her… She needs to be properly coached on how to defend her business and her product if she must speak on the issue… Otherwise, i advise she hires a publicist to do the dirty work for her.

Then again, i don’t think the product would be selling just as it is right now if Dencia wasn’t the face of the product… Leave people to their vises and allow the poor girl’s business to grow…

However, no amount of skin bleaching can make a black person White… You black! You so black!! Inside Out!! And you can’t change that… Now, let’s move on…

no hun, they don’t have issues, you “bleachers” are the ones who have issues. the “attackers” are trying to protect future generations, so they don’t develop the issues that you “bleachers” have.

Bleaching like any other act of changing ones appearance is an act of insecurity with the natural self. The degree of insecurity we have with our appearance will dictate how far we are willing to go to change it. It is a way of seeking societal acceptance. It is unfortunate that people cannot be comfortable in their own skin but it is no reason to demonize them. Instead we should be trying to address the societal pressures that push people to such acts while also raising the self confidence of people in need of it.

    April 16, 2014 at 8:23 pm

Is Dencia from Nigeria or Cameroon? It does not make any difference though… People should stop attacking her! There are more fundamental issues eroding the unique nature of humanity than Skin Bleaching…

  32. vee

    April 17, 2014 at 3:51 pm

Honestly i think people should leave Dencia and relax on her issue. The website clearly states that the cream is for dark spot in order to blend with your skin; whatever people decide to do with the cream is their business. She is not promoting skin bleaching for God’s sake! The fact that she bleached her skin does NOT mean she is pushing anyone else to. She has never said she is beautiful because of the bleach she used. People don’t even understand that products like facial toners have chemical in them which still lighten in the end because they are supposed to get rid of spots. And M.J bleached because he had a skin condition called Vitiligo – do your research. In all honesty i know loads of dark skinned people who hate on lights kinned people just because of their complexion and hate more on bleached girls (that are probably bleached nicely) because they had the balls to do it and they got away with it. For crying out loud Lancome or L’oreal (can’t remember) has lightening products and lupita (as much as i love her) is their spokes person. So tell me what this world is about? This babe is making a point it is her skin she bleached-yes. Her product can bleach? Yes. But is it meant for bleaching? No. People need to stop and listen, that the problem with us Africans- slow to think, but quick to judge.

You know what? I am done!! Do not tell me that there is a damn choice. There is no fuc***g choice. Your fuc***g DNA already made that damn choice for your ass. If you going around bleaching your goddamn skin, you smoking on something. You are insecure and you think being lightened skin would make you more prettier. Well hear today , it not!!!!!!!!!!. If you are ugly sorry baby you are ugly. Agbani Darego won THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD. This young lady is a darkened skin Nigerian with little boobs and butt. So beauty ain’t about all that artificial bulls**t wanna be Nicki Minaj calling herself Dencia is looking like. Moreover , she is so dumb for saying if your parents are not your role model they are bad people, excuse meeeee!!!!!!! and right there she said her grand mother is her role model but ” i also love my family they mean a lot to me” who asked you? Well Dencia you lucky you not having an interview with me because I would have went straight down and told your ass that why can’t a white man ever think of the option of being black? I guess it a choice right ? why is that it we Africans or Black people in general always try to be fucking White ? Well guess what ? YOU ARE NOT AND YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BE WHITE. If you like, buy the whole whitenicious company. If want to go and get a job your ass still gonna be black not lightened skin but black. You know what ? This bleaching shit is not acceptable don’t tell me you have a fuc***g choice. If your ass bleaching your ass straight up ratchet and for Dencia that your American accent I really don’t know where you got that from.
